What's Up??

Just joined and glad to be here. I'll be spending a little time just checking out various forums to see where my interests are at TFP.

I'm new. tecoyah begged me to sign up here because he has the hots for me. ;)

Kidding, tecoyah!

My initials are aps. I'm a type A personality, but am also easygoing. I am very inquisitive as to others and what makes them tick, so I may appear to be nosy, when it's really just my being interested. Tell me all your secrets....

Glory's Sun 12-12-2005 12:05 PM

Beefimator 12-12-2005 04:37 PM

I'm not new here but I haven't been around for about 7 months. So I figured I would reacquaint myself with everyone and get back in the swing of things a bit. Hopefully I won't have to take any time off in the future. I'm so far behind on everything.

Glory's Sun 12-13-2005 06:54 AM

welcome back Beefimator. Always nice when people rejoin the fold

Beefimator 12-13-2005 04:33 PM

Thanks man, now all I have to do is get back into the swing of things. I've missed so much. Yikes.

PastorTim 12-16-2005 04:35 AM

HELLO

Hi, I just joined and thought I would just say "Hi!"

I look forward to interacting with a few of you. I won't say all of you because it appears there's too many! But I trust that is a good thing.

If you have a prayer request, please feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to entertain Bible questions, but I'm not really much for debating. I am happy to give you an answer based on what I believe and understand the Bible to teach, but I'll also do my best to simply leave it at that. Of course, I can't say you'll necessarily like the content of my answer, but I'll try hard to be respectful and not rude. I would appreciate the same courtesy, as the "welcome and read this message or you can't go any further" message outlined.

I will give as honest an answer to honest questions, but I really don't want to argue. I've gottem fed up with a lot of that kind of junk that's out there, and I'm not looking to engage in that here. I'd prefer to keep it positive and try to be a help and an encouragement if I can.

If debating is your bag, more power to ya. Just not my cup of tea, thanks.

God bless.

tecoyah 12-16-2005 06:06 AM

Welcome Tim....we try very hard not to Christian Bash here, and if you feel someone has.....just let me know.....and your friendly local pagan will set 'em strait

PastorTim 12-16-2005 06:38 AM

Thank-you!

I hope my interactions will be positive, enlightening and even a bit challenging at times -- realizing that most streets run two-ways. I'm sure I can learn some things from opinions, thoughts and feelings which are divergent from mine. At least I hope I can, and I hope along the way I can be a blessing to some.

But it's nice to know I've got a FRIENDLY local pagan to call on, too!

Amakudaru 12-16-2005 08:15 AM

well, I'm new, I think.... well, I'll see what i can do eventually...

TexanAvenger 12-19-2005 10:45 PM

Don't worry about it. Personally, I don't think I ever dropped in here - save to welcome others. Regardless, glad you're here and contributing.

For months, I've been hearing this and that about a "Tilted Forum" but never knew what it was. Now that I've found out, this could be my new home-away-from-home. My other home is in Southern California and I'm normally a nocturnal creature.

BigBen 12-30-2005 01:14 PM

Welcome Williamsgarage and Nitelyfe. First off, thanks for posting your salutations in the proper area, and second, take the time and energy in reading the rules and sticky threads at the top of the boards.

As far as a home-away-from-home, I don't think you could choose a better place.

darmok 12-30-2005 02:43 PM

Hello Everyone :)

A couple good friends of mine told me about these forums about a year ago, and I joined up. Unfortunately, things came up and I got distracted and never got a chance to look around and enjoy the discussions.

Today I've finally rediscovered TFP and can't wait to catch up on a year of lost time :)

It's great to be here!

Glory's Sun 12-30-2005 03:17 PM

Welcome darmok. There's plenty to catch up on.. enjoy :D

Dael 12-30-2005 04:06 PM

Hi there,

Pretty new here as a posting member, although I've browsed and read stuff for a few months I suppose.

I'm a Canadian living in Northwestern BC (gorgeous scenery for those of you who've never been here) and am currently a grad student pursuing a degree in biochemistry. I hope to be deemed worthy someday of being a full-fledged member!

Glory's Sun 12-31-2005 07:44 AM

Welcome Dael. Don't worry you'll become a full fledged member soon enough. Just post quality stuff and engage in the great convo's here and you'll be there before you know it!

Guinevere 01-06-2006 12:05 PM

I'm new to message boards but found this and loved the chit chat. Have already learned some new and very interesting (sexual) things! I live in the South but have traveled the world. Sure wish I had a geek over my shoulder to show me the ropes--I feel a bit sloppy and lost in this online world.

maleficent 01-06-2006 12:07 PM

welcome guinevere to our own camelot... :) Geeks are always available for rope showing -- just ask... :)

Hi,

I finally decided to try out forum life instead of observing it.
This looks like a good place with a lot of intelligent people, so I'm interested in where this might go.
I'm on the computer a lot...a lot. I predict that I will be addicted within five days.

DanV 01-08-2006 07:05 AM

Good morning, and in case I don`t see you, good afternoon and good evening.

I`m an 18 old (m) romanian and I really enjoy reading the forums, even though I haven`t contributed with anything just yet.
It feels like home :)

This is me, doing yoga:

Actually, I drew that in honour of a friend of mine, a busy mother of 3 who valiantly attempted to keep up her yoga practice!

If she can work yoga into her day, we can! Check out the Yoga Snacks thread that I started here, on this forum. I hope it can give you a refreshing break in your day.

Brilliant Idiot 01-12-2006 09:32 PM

OK - why are none of my pictures taking? :(

.....Later.... Oh. fixed it.

Cardenal 01-12-2006 10:51 PM

Hello all,
I am new to TFP...sort of...
Way back in the day I was a regular, but eventually saw the forum degrade against ignorance, porn-mongering, and unfortunately, conflicts of political correctness.
Needless to say, I was overwhelmed when I returned this past week. TFP has flourished and I can only hope I find like-minded (and otherwise not) souls to join in asking and attempting to answer life's little questions, as absurd as we may sound. I'm ecstatic.

A New Voice of Un-Reason

Hi everyone,

A co-worker of mine, whose screen name I don't know off the top of my head spends a lot of time on this forum and told me it was a place I could chat a low-flame rate. Sounded like a good day to me.

I've been looking for something like that for a long time, I harken back to the long-ago days of the Deep Thoughts chat. Now we're talking 15 years ago in the strange and wild BBS days, but in the beginning it was a popular chat that encouraged Deep Thought (imagine). Of course, it eventually moved to the new-fangled web and went completely to pot. As soon as people realized they could tell others to F-Off without reprise, it was all over.

A few years later, I found a Religion and Philiosophy room on Lycos and for a while things were good. Not unexpectedly it turned into a cyber-sex parlour. I suppose people wanted to commune with God in a new way.

So, every few years I wander into a new board and hope that it won't blow up. I used to use a more imflammitory screen name (kingofallcanadians) which people tended to think was an ego thing. In fact, it was a name I used when I called in to Howard Stern's show (he being the self-proclaimed King of All Media), but inevitably people would think that I was referring to myself as the greatest Canadian, and television told me last year that The Greatest Canadian was Tommy Douglas...so that's that.

Anyhow...hope this is a good experience. Looking forward to it. I hope to waste hours of paid company time in here.

Evelina 01-18-2006 09:04 AM

Midwife! GAH! I don't even want to be in the room. I wanna be pacing back and forth in the waiting room with cigars in my pocket to hand out...

Have a friend in Iceland who is the village midwife, when I met her she had just delivered the village's 1,000th child.

The_Jazz 01-20-2006 03:03 PM

Hi there. I've been a member for longer than I have any idea, and I posted a few things a couple years ago, but I changed computers, lost the address, forgot, etc. I rediscovered this place earlier in the week, much to my enjoyment.

I'm 35, a wholesale insurance broker (think big, tough corporate insurance), married with a kid due any day now, and more stress than I know what to do with.

That's me in a nutshell. I'm glad to be back.
