Ok, my presentation is gonna be short but here goes... My name is Jeff I am Canadian We have a prime minister, not a president We don't live in igloos and ice skate all the time We don't have to worry about keeping our pets or kids indoors cause of polar bears roaming around in our back yards We don't keep beavers or moose as pets We don't know everyone who lives here, so don't ask if we know "Jon" from Canada We do have McDonald's here, and they don't serve McCaribou Fur trading is NOT our #1 industry We don't turn off the Niagara Falls at night We do have the same Christmas as you Yes we have more then 1 TV station and we get the same Movies and TV shows as you It does get warm here in the summer, and the snow actually does melt We don't find it hilarious when you ask us to say "EH" over and over again *step off soapbox* |

Hi everybody!
This is my presentation (or rather a bad attempt at one), I was refered here by a guy who said this was an awesome place on the net. So I thought I'd register and see what all the fuzz was about. I'm considering myself to be human (well a guy can dream can't he??), I like computers, litterature and philosophy. The guy who gave me the link here said it had a killer Philosophy forum so I just have to check it out. Anyway, I don't know what else to write so, *Burns to ashes*

I'm Cherry; certified internet junkie, spoiled brat, prolific poster of pointless little gems. A friend of mine pointed me in this direction, under the impression that this forum and I would make a good fit.

Welcome all you new members! Please feel free to send me a PM (Personal Message) if you ever are in need of some help with the way TFP works. Granted, I'm not exactly an expert on everything, but I can try to help you out, or refer you to someone else who possibly could. Have fun!

So, here I am.
Mostly a lurker I suppose, I hail from Texas, do a fair amount of geek things, and am happily married. Your first baby is due in a few weeks. It's been a big change for us already, but I think we're up for the task. We decided not to determine the gender which has most of our family freaked out. I didn't know this was so old-school these days. My current hobby in my copious free time is geocaching. Austin has been a great place for this and I've really enjoyed finding parks and such where I live that I hadn't visited before. |

Poison Ivy sent me. We are buds from theatre, so yes, I am out of the closet from the start, I am a thespian
Ok, academic creds: I am a mathmatics major going into my senior year, yikes I feel old. I speak four languages - English, Spanish, German and SEE sign language, though you don't really speek sign language and lack of use has made my Spanish and SL rather rusty. I'd like to learn Gaelic, Japanese or Mandarin, Aramaic, and Quenya. Other stuff: I am a SCAdian, which means I do medieval reinactments. In that vein, I do archery and currently shoot with a 55# wooden recurve. I also am interested in bardic lore, though my repotoire is fairly limited as of yet. I am a red-black belt in tae kwon do, and I am freakishly flexible, for your too much information. Peace be with you, G. |

Giltwist.. SCA? I did kendo for a while, and then got turned on to shinai and lights because I was tired of getting beat up (kendo is rough). Owesome list of other stuff, if I may say. I dont have near the mastry of language that you have, I only speak 2 languages fluently, and 2 others slightly more than mediocre.
DJsneex, you and Giltwist may have more in common than you may think, soldiers share a lot of the qualities that are found in good SCA and tae kwon do (especially if taught traditionally). Repentant: Quote:
But I hope that yours is born healthy and strong, at any rate. feelgood - ever watch "talking with americans"? awesome show about the kind of thing you're ranting about.. its really funny some of the things they'll believe Welcome to all of you, and enjoy your stay. reintroduction
Hello there, I used to post on this board a long time ago as 'prong' but alas, my account seems to be zapped.
Well, I saw "Requiem for a Dream" tonight, and I'm looking for something to ease my twisted stomach. I don't know why TFP came to mind, but there you go. |

What's up
Hey new to the tfproject, but not to the 'net. Here's a little bit about myself. I work 2nd level helpdesk and deskside installs for a major restaurant corporation that has this site blocked so I won't be posting from work.
I'm struggling to study for more computer certifications. I love reading, computers, music, and my wonderful wife of 3 years. I'll be 30 on October 30th of next year. I run a radio webcast on Live365.com. I may eventually add a .sig with a link to it and all, but I'll save that for when you guys actually know me and all I am a Christian, but I still hold on to rational thinking and my political views border on moderate to conservative. I love cold weather. Autumn is the best season. I've learned to never start a land war in Asia, but more importantly, though slightly lesser known, never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line. Any questions? |
