OK, I'm new and proud of it! Since I came to TFP, I feel like I've aquired 2,000 new friends! It's a great community and I'm pleased that there is so much honesty and caring going on in and around us. I hear that I can be as outragious as I want, which is quite enticing. Now if only I could share some photos ...

Hello all....
My how things have changed.....I was a memeber here about a year ago and have been away on work (in some of the most remote place you could imagine). Let just say I'm having to learn how to type again :-)
It absolutly amazing to be back in "civilization" again. Seeing so many people, cars, having electricity and HOT water. OMG I swear I sat in a bath for about 2 hours I came out like a prune that had been even other prunes thought was wrinkely ! Anyway good to be back and am looking ofrward to catching up with some people ad making some new friends. Take care all.... |

Well, I joined back in May, but spent most of the summer away from my computer. Not sure if I said hello back then, so I'll do it now.
Hello. My name is Dan. The DiffEng thing is short for Difference ENgine, the name of my band. I'm from Edmonton.

hi, I'm a noob
I was a lurker for a while (mostly for boobies, honestly), then my internet disappeared for a number of months and now I have it again, albiet briefly.
I have read the locked posts up at top, done my research a little bit, etc. etc. but, I wanted to know what exactly was going on with different sections of the board, what unlocks, how this works, etc. I got a gist of what was happening, and I KNOW it says to PM the moderator, but I assume he has better things to do, so I would ask the community. If this is not the case, please inform me - as you can see, this only my first post, so I will learn, I'm sure. Can someone just give me a layout of what happens as I start to post and become more of an active member? Thank ye. |

There are a couple of threads that explain how things work pretty clearly.
http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread....threadid=21391 and http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread....threadid=18373 Basicly just post and have fun. Read all the notices first. Become actively involved in the community and things will go well. Don't worry about PM'ing us for help, that's what we are here for. Last edited by redravin40; 09-14-2003 at 12:54 PM.. |

Hi
I was a closet lurker for a while but now i'm sort of intrigued as to why everyone stuck around--maybe it's worth it. I'm a senior at college and I'm going to law school next year. yay! Gotta love the education. Let's see, something interesting about me? I woke up at 4 this morning choking and gagging and had to go to the hospital beacuse my uvula was swollen and it was choking me. Fun, huh? It still hurts though.

Hey yall, my name is Jeremy. Im originally from New Orleans but I have been moving around for about 6 years now. Currently I am living in Ashland Kentucky and Its by far the worst place I have ever lived.
I have been around THP for a whyle, mostly lurking, but I did post occasionally. I have had several lapses in my attendance beacuse of moving but I always come back for more. Now I am out the closet and I will be making some racket so look out for me. Peas.... Jero

Well, not my idea of a good first post, but I want to start somewhere...
I'm really into drinking, but not research. I don't know if the 'carbon absorbing alcohol' theory will work so well as to be a cure, but eating just about anything should help. Eh.. well, I was watching Discovery Channel (or was it Animal Planet? ) and there are monkeys that steal charcoal from people and eat it in order to filter out toxins in some certain foods they eat. Wow. This is so random. I'm on sensory overload with just joining TFP. I got to page five on this thread... guess I should go back and keep reading. I'm hoping that by reading all the 'I'm a n00b' posts, I can see where each of us starts out in this forum, and then see where we end up in time. Why? I guess it's like a first impression that I'm looking for. I'll try a more official 'hello' post after I've read the rest of yours. BurntToast Quote:
