Hmm... how to define this site?

It's pretty much a community where you discuss topics that interest you, and meet new people. The computer forum is great if you have any problems. Politics is good if you want your opinion heard. Knowledge and Philosophy are good if you want to flex your brain. And, of course, there's the TB. ;) Just explore, and enjoy.

I'd try the Literature forum. It's under the creativity heading. Start scrolling down, and if you're seeing a bunch of forums that say "US - Northeast" and so on, you've gone just too far.

But, be careful, it's very addictive, I have trouble getting work done cause I'm always surfing the boards, and since I am in college this is a bad thing, Oh God what have you done to me TFP?

The thread that was just totally awesome was the one about enjoying watching 2 men together. well, it has been up for quite a while, as I understand it the only reason that the dates on the older members joining being not to old is because sometime in 03(?) they had harddrive problems and had to restart everything, So I don't think it is going to close any time soon for no reason, if you want to help keep it up you can donate.

I'm impressed, all praise is due to Halx for an important contribution to the cultural scene. I was visiting a forum dedicated to banjo's (a current interest) and dipped into the open forum there. I was horrified, in a short period of time I was called a terrorist, commie, condemned for my education, threatend with hellfire, told I would be reported to the FBI and generally abused for defending free speech. The mission of TFP is noble and I am very pleased to have found this site. If you want the name of the "other site" pm me. Its an education in the unvarnished bigotry and facism being institutionalized in our sadly divided country.

only right and proper to introduce me here before i chip in my 2 cents about Humanity, Sexuality or Philosophy. this looks like a neat place to visit every now and then, hope i'll find the time to do so! freshly graduated (official ceremony in 11 days, no funny hats or togas, i'm a mainland european :D ), started working two weeks ago on a 4 month project which involves computers. guess I'll spend a few late night coffe breaks here, always love a good read :). cruised a couple of forums / posts prior to coming here and was pleased to see just about everyone being so polite and friendly, lovely ! :icare:
