Obtuse 09-12-2004 08:13 PM

Greetings all, I am Obtuse.

Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of web forums, but TFP has me quite intrigued. I can't exactly put my finger on why, but my interest has certainly been peaked. I'll never be a prolific poster, but I do hope I can find something to add to the community.

Later

HurleyBoy 09-13-2004 12:32 PM

Figure it was bout time I introduce myself here.

Well lets see i've been around TFP for good long time (id say around a year if not longer) I just never really posted much cause well I for one was always gaining knowledge to better help myself with life and other things also cause I was kinda scared of not really fitting in here. But anyways on to telling you all about me:

My name is Bill im 20 years old and soon to be 21 in october. I currently live in Tacoma Washington and I live with my sister to help me with money since I don't make much and every little bit counts. Hmmm I plan to go to college to help better myself and get myself a good career, on what though I haven't decided yet. I'm new here in Tacoma and trying to meet new people to hangout with, im also single and looking to find someone to spend my time with. I enjoy all types of music just some more than others, I don't really have any favorites since my mood changes alot but currently I been listening to country and rock/modern rock. I love being outdoors and I enjoy being in the woods. When im there im free, im to myself, im happy. I love watching movies alot and I do mean alot. I enjoy being able to go play on weekends but also enjoy just hanging out and chit chatting.

I'm not much of a book reader but when i do find a book thats interest me I will read it all the way through before I ever decide to let it go. i'm a very open minded person and will talk about anything, I have nothing to hide so ask me anything. I'm not judgemental at all and like to meet people the same, I wanna know someone before I question who they are and what they are like. Well I thats all I can think of when describing myself. If anyone here wants to chat sometime then PM your contact info, im always looking to make new friends  Take care all.

Bill

P.S. i head about the exhibition forum and was wondering does it take a certain post count number to gain access to it or how many posts you post per day?

eyejae 09-13-2004 01:41 PM

I'm new, just discovered this site when searching for stupid websites (it gave me your thread on stupid websites in your archive, not the message board). I'll probably lurk for a while before I say anything of worth. But yeah, I'm new.

tecoyah 09-13-2004 02:23 PM

Just post quality for awhile....and all doors will open. But as you have been here that long, and still hold the "rookie"tag....you got a ways to go.

belkins 09-13-2004 03:40 PM

Hi, I'm new here. I had some trouble getting registered but thanks to the friendly admins here I finally made it!

I live in Salt Lake City.

Just noticed the person above me, eyejae, is in Utah too.

Kipp Pounder 09-13-2004 06:42 PM

Hey there! Kipp here. I was looking for an active message board, and lo and behold, Tilted called out to me from the Google search results page. It's been a blast so far and I've been able to read and write a lot of interesting messages from and to peeps who share the same interest. This community is way cool and colorful! :D

handincookiejar 09-13-2004 10:14 PM

I'm new too. Stumbled upon this place searching for something else and well it looked interesting. So far I haven't been dissapointed. I'm sure it will become a fascinating way to further procrastinate on my papers.

MrsRight41401 09-16-2004 02:04 AM

Well after reading quite a few posts and wandering around a bit, I must say that I'm quite impressed. It's hard to find an adult group thats not bickering everywhere. Thank God for that.

The name is Rachel, I'm 23 and a Army wife stationed at Fort Stewart, GA. We're originally from out west in California and my husband is an Arabic Linguist. Fun stuff. I've got 2 kids. I'm not your typical Mormon but I am nonetheless an active and faithful Mormon with enough sense to see things through slightly less rose colored glasses than many of my fellow counterparts. I look forward to getting to know all of you here.

Hi y'all, I'm new to TFP. This is officially my first post on the forums, though I've been enjoying surfing some of the forums and topics.

My name is Bryndian Dhai, I'm a 32 year old woman from the deep South. I have lots of interests, fetishes, kinks, hobbies and opinions. Just ask me, lol, and I'll tell you... I'm a pretty open person, most of the time.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here. :D

My name is Bud, as in this Bud is 4U. I'm an old fart who is living in the remains of the hurricane oops sunshine state. I have not fully explored TFP yet, but so far it is like a breath of fresh air on the net. Maybe I can help keep it that way. My hat's off to Halx and/or whoever keeps it straight, no I mean clean, no I mean...well, you know what I mean. My favorite site up to now has been www.domai.com. That stands for dirty old men's association international, in case you didn't know.

Mr Cassata 09-19-2004 09:25 PM

Hi!

The name's Colin. 18 year-old highschool graduate going to pre-med studies in the new year (minoring in computer sciences, I hope. It has the dual benefits of being a subject I love, and raising my GPA. :D).

I love cooking, esp. baking cakes (guess where I got the cassata moniker... it's a very good italian cake), sweets of all kinds (chocolate mousse, anyone?), and dim sum food (I've made several kinds, including the deep-fried sesame balls with the sweet asuki bean paste in the middle and the steamed sweet pork buns... Love both of those dishes... And the ladies love em, too :))

I'm one of the proverbial computer wizkids, too. Got my A+ computer technician certification when I was 17, and spent the past few days fixing some computers for 150 Blings. :)

I'm perfectly bilingual (French/English), and I speak some Spanish.

I've got Tourette's Syndrome, which makes me make noises and movements (and if anyone has any questions about it, feel free to ask me... I don't mind helping people get info on Tourette's. PM me if you wish to. :))

I've been losing weight for the past two years, and I've gone down from 240lbs to 204. I"ve still got a bit of fat but it's almost gone. If anyone needs weight loss advice, ask me. I'll try to help.

I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada, and I hope to get along and be friends with the other members of what seems to be a great community. :)

Now that you've (hopefully) read through this, you'll probably know that I make long, detailed posts on a regular basis... I hope you guys tolerate this kind of posting on these forums. ;)

Mr. C, you seem to be 18 going on 30-something. That's a complement, by the way. Losing 20 lbs. a year is a great accomplishment, but staying the course for another 20 lbs. is more remarkable. Share your secret, please. :)

My secret? Keep on at it, and plow on through the times where you don't lose any weight. Anything worth having deserves a fight. It takes time, and it isn't very fun at first. But soon enough, you'll get used to eating less (and more highly nutritious foods), and it'll become second nature.

Don't deprive yourself, though. That only leads to binge eating further on. I've had days when I've eaten very little, only to cram myself with food in the evening. I've learned from that, though. :)

If I want some high-calorie food, I'll have some. (I.E: When I have a craving for a certain food (chocolate, vietnamese, etc), I'll buy a *little bit* (NOT a jumbo-sized Oh Henry bar or anything like that) and go home.) I also don't take "advantage" (if you can call it that!) of two-for-one discounts on high-caloric foods, such as bags of chips and choloate bars. I find that drinking lots of water helps an awful lot, too. :)

Also, I go to the gym, and I enjoy the adrenaline rush that I get from it, and the feel-good reaction that lingers on for hours afterwards. Lifting weights helps me no end; it reduces my stress levels and makes me look buffer. ;)

Hope this helps you! If you want more advice, feel free to PM me. :)

Hi
first post, first forum - first time, be gentle

Janey 09-24-2004 08:39 AM

:)

Hi, I'm jane, i live in Toronto. I am in my 20's and work as a management consultant with PwC.

I went to university at Queen's in Kingston, where I had a fantastic time. I love rock music and really do not like hip hop. I am learning to play the guitar, and currently own a Yamaha steel string accoustic, as well as a Fender Squier fat-Strat ( i love the sound of the humbucker pick up).

I am a heterosexual female (olthough i do not rule out same sex encounters, i haven't had the opportunity yet) about 5'2, 104 lbs, with black straight hair. my parents were born in china, and are of Han ethnicity, I am CBC (canadian born chinese) but obviously also of Han ethnicity. I am proud of my heritage, especially of the contribution my grandparents made to the building of Canada earlier this century. Both of my grandfathers were Canadian citizens in the early 1900's and worked on the railroad. Although they were required by law to leave their families in China, they loved the opportunity that this country offered.

Me too!.

I will post a pic as soon as i can find a scanner.

bad_husband 09-24-2004 08:41 AM

First.....welcome to you all.

As for the Avatar.....If you continue to post quality replys, and threads, you will eventually become a full member and gain the Avatar capability. It is important to note that certain forums do not count towards membership,IE: Titty board.

Question: how do you monitor/assign quality post status to particular posts? Is this automated somehow or is it an ad-hoc sampling of members by the moderators?

I just want to know where to operate from... :)

tecoyah 09-28-2004 12:07 PM

The moderators in this forum spend quite a bit of time monitoring, and evaluating the members. There are of course, some automated functions that simplify the "Human" aspect of member evaluation. The quality of posts, has as much to do with increased status as the quantity. There is an abritrary membership number of posts however, which I believe is 250, that is not to say 100 quality posts will not gain you membership.

Simply put, if you intend to participate in the community at large, and interact with members throughout the range of forums, you will soon find more of the functions and areas availible to you.

Hi, I'm Suave. Hah. Looks like I'd be an ego tripper eh? Luckily that's not the case. Howdy to all and I look forward to discussions and whatnot. ;)

Yet another newbie here....

Hi all, I'll try to be brief: 38, white, straight male, have a 15 year marriage that is both open and very happy; DJ a weekly goth/industrial college radio show, currently starting our third year on the air; am currently working on my second and third underground films - no, not porn or anything (I should be so lucky!); have worked the independent professional wrestling circuit for the last five years; used to publish/edit a horror movie magazine you've never heard of; BA in Theatre Arts; published poet and essayist; and I'm an ordained Pagan minister. If that doesn't define eclecticism, I don't know what does : ) Just looking for a place to hang out, relax, meet cool and interesting people, etc.
