I was kinda bored with my Dwarf Paladin, Mfillmore, so i dropped blacksmithing and took up engineering. Wow, total change. Now I cant wait to build up my skills, i gone up 2 levels in no time. I'm just shy of skill 100 and getting Flying Tiger Goggles (link), Ez-Thro Dynamite (link) for my alts & Mechanical Squirrel (link) when I get the recipe. I have already created items for my alts and mailed them off, and have parts needed mailed back I created a guild of one!

I can tell once you get past 20 its going to be more difficult to solo. Any tips for some one starting out would be appreciated.
How do i sell soul bound items at the AH?

Staghelm

Dagney- Human warrior 19
Roolikat -Night Elf rouge 19
Mfillmore- Dwarf paladin 16
Skeevo -Tauren hunter 15
VasDefrence Undead warlock 15
Omac -Troll mage 7

Grats on the Bloodlord, he can be pretty rough. Just wait till the tiger boss though, holy ish.

We came back the next time and cleared Jeklikk, Venoxis and Bloodlord in about three hours with only one wipe when someone wasn't paying attention and got thrown back into a group of blood drinkers.

All caster loot. Why? Oh why.

No, people in China play on their own servers "with localized content."

However, we all know that some Chinese people play on US Servers, maybe it depends on the retail box version purchased? I'm not sure.

Mr. Mojo you can't selll soulbound items in the AH. They are...bound to your soul!

You can solo up to 35-40 if you don't want to do instances and are will to pick up groups for a few of the tougher bosses. Advice? Just do the quests. If you get to a zone that seems to start out too high you may have missed one.

So it seems the 30 year olds in my guild have decided to take "The Higher Road" and act like the 15 year olds who are pissing them off (my guild's name is The Higher Road, which is why that is funny, I guess, kinda, not really). Looks like this thing is about to explode in my face, and I've no idea where I'm going to find another spot.

Fucking shit. How hard is it to work together to complete common objectives and treat each other civilly in the process?

Who knew that playing a video game would subject me to dealing with craploads of interpersonal drama?

LOL, if you were in EQ it would be 20x worse, training mobs on other guilds, competing for the same spawn all the time, racing etc..

Well my raid group finally beat Ragnaros this weekend.. on my birthday. This may not seem like a great deal to most, but for being a release server, my server is WAY far behind. We were the 4th Alliance and 5th overall group to kill him. We had to survive 2 waves of sons to do it! It was quite satisfying.

Yeah, just checked them all on thottbot. GG Blizzard itemization! The hunter tier 1 and 2 epic sets have some weird stuff going on, too. I'm not sure that the Dragonstalker chest and legs are really all that much meaningfully better than Giantstalker. Weird.

Do you mean 14/32/5? I was considering speccing that way but I'd lose too much in restoration so I ended up going 30/21. I still have to heal in BWL and MC and I hate having my rejuv's being overridden by others. Having 8k mana is nice though, I'm loving feral. I didn't have much feral gear though so I went to the AH and bought the warbear gear since it has decent stats but then I looked like this:

Ah well, I'll just wear my guild tabard. To complete my gear, I just need a feral cloak, shoulders, weapon and rings. I can get the cloak and shoulders once I get exalted in AB but getting a good weapon will be harder since I vendored a really nice mace from a quest. Maybe I can get some guild AV's going and get exalted in AV. Getting that feral druid mace from the new dragons would be really nice though.

The MC run was insane by the way. Three Earthfury pieces, Aurastone, Staff of Destruction, and Finkles!

I've been away from the game for awhile and I've been thinking of coming back and trying warlock (my original class, never got past 23 tho) on a Non-PvP server, horde side (since all my major ones have been on alliance.) Anyone playing on one (Non-PvP server, horde side)? I've forgotten who's where by now and I don't feel like looking through 28ish pages. IIRC though I think most of you play on pvp servers or alliance.

Man you guys on PvE servers are crazy. Why play WoW? To get better armor. Why get better armor? To look cooler so the enemy faction will be afraid. What does armor do? It makes you stronger...so you can kill the enemy faction easier. The entire game is based around PVP! What's the fun of killing stuff over and over again just to get better armor if you're not actually gonna be in real-environment combat? It's like spending huge amounts of money on a car but not racing it. Am I missing something!? I can't imagine WoW without PVP outside of BGs...that's the sole reason I played the game for so long. I loved PVP and I loved a good challenge.

You can flip on /pvp at any time if you want that pvp experience. Trust me there's plenty of people who will line up to try to kill you when they see that red name cross anywhere near them, even on a pve server. On my server there's usually a few different PVP things going on at any time if you want to do it while waiting between battlegrounds/raids etc. Southshore vs. Tarren Mill is always a popular one.

The main benefit of non-pvp servers is the huge reduction on grief. HUUUUUUGE reduction on grief. Can't possibly stress that enough.

..(huge)

I play plenty of FPS games, i don't want to play WoW like that 100% of the time. It's an RPG not a FPS *shrugs*.

Besides it's not true pvp unless you can kill everyone

Hal's Newbie Feral Breakdown

After 1.8, I respecced to 14/31/6. I am sorta regretting putting a point in Omen of Clarity - I never use it. I may respec again to 13/31/7. However, that doesn't mean I'm no longer a healer. In my Feral gear, I have about 1000 AP unbuffed and in my healing gear, I have more mana than most priests. I was still the MT healer for our Ragnaros kill.

I miss Innervate though. I'm going through mana potions like never before.

Feral is fun, but I am still learning it. I get my ass whooped in PvP. However, I do occasionally come across a mage or a priest who doesn't take me seriously.

Your Ravage crits ______ for 957.
.....
Your Ferocious Bite crits ______ for 1693.
______ dies.

I find myself doing the majority of damage to players, only to have people jump in at the last moment and steal my kill. Damn Paladins and their HoW.

Some gear off the top of my head that's helped me get that much AP... Ghostshroud, Death's Clutch, Cadaverous Armor, Belt and Pants, Wristguards of Stability, Fist of Omokk, Rank 7 gloves and boots, Band of the Ogre King.

I am trying to get the Medallion of Steadfast Might now that all of our warriors in our MC raid have it. I may get it tonight if it drops. Nat Pagle's Fish Terminator is high on my to-get list.

Now of course, with all that AP gear, my mana pool is severely gimped. I find myself switching my Cadaverous Pants with Animist's Leggings from Jek'lik. I lose a lil AP, but I get some mana back and the armor rating on those pants is like.. 260... Epic druid pants are 170. Good shit for bear form.

For bear form armor, I just use all my epics since they have the highest armor rating. All my epics are healing gear, so I am pretty much a turtle. 8500 armor unbuffed aint bad though. Now if only I can get ahold of that Medallion, I'll get the defense that really matters.

Nerf Druids. Next topic: I'm thinking about renewing my account. The new features such as improved honor system, 5-man quests that have really nice rewards, the Silithus changes, and the first expansion are really starting to make me want to play again. Right now, I play BF2 exclusively, and while it is fun, it'd also be fun to play with all of my old friends again. If I do start playing again, #1 will be getting my 52 priest to 60. #2 will be a mixture of farming for my gold back (I gave away around 600g when I quit). #3 will be possibly getting better armor for my 60 warrior. After that, I'll probably keep leveling up my mage (playing at a low level is fun). If I do go back, it'll be with my girlfriend, and if she doesn't, I won't. MMORPG without your significant other playing simply doesn't work well.

Exactly, it's about control. I've done the chaos thing 1 to 60 once, I don't want to do it again. Especially now that there's 3 BGs out and that's where all the pvp is nowadays anyway.

It's a difference in system priorities. BG PvP is designed to allow people to get ranks in the system. World PvP was never concentrator enough nor did it have the honor bonuses that the BGs have. I think it's a lot of fun, and I love me some 5-man world PvP, but it'd be a nasty feat to get enough honor to get rank 14 if that's all you were doing.

I got to rank 7 by doing world PVP and was well on the way to go further if BGs hadn't have came out. There was already rank 10 people on my server before BGs. It was VERY possible to gain ranks before BGs came out...it was actually waaay easier. Hell, I'll go so far to say that it was almost ten times easier to rank up before BGs came out. That's the problem here...it now takes 5 times the amount of effort as it did before to rank up, and all of that effort is spent in boring ass BGs. They need to take the damned CP bonuses out of BGs, period. That'd bring real PVP back and keep the players who want open world PVP in the game. If BGs are designed to allow people to gain ranks in the system, it's doing a PISS POOR job. Christ...it used to take 5,000 CPs to go from rank 6 to 7, and now it takes 200,000. I don't think the system is working.

Let me rephrase. The system you described works exactly as intended. BGs were not created to increase the rate at which people gained ranks. Rather they were designed to control (and, in this case slow) the rate at which people gained ranks. BGs are much easier to keep track of than world PvP. Thus, it gave bliz the ability to slow down the rate at which people attained the higher ranks and gave them more control over the amount of time it takes to move from one rank to the next.

I'm not necessarily saying this is right or better, I'm just explaining what the system does.

What's the best/fastest way to get rep now in AV? I hate to do it, but I'm thinking of just afking it, since that's the only way blizz has left for me to get any upgrades. What's the best way to keep from going afk? I'd think something external that pushes my keyboard every min or something.

Take cologne bottle.(Tommy works great for this).
Make sure your keyboard is sitting flat so the bottle doesen't slide off the desk and break.
Find a nice safe spot in AV (inside your respective team's starting cave is fine).
Press down arrow key, sit bottle on the key.

The spinning keeps you from going afk, now go get food or whatever.

The problem with the PVP system is that it's based on farming players(just like farming npcs) instead of skill.Anyone can go queue up for any of the BG's and get a suitable rank, it just takes time.I also believe the BG's were designed more for giving players another route to get better items, because the rewards are based on reputation instead of pvp rank.

On another note, the whole game at 60 pisses me off.59 levels of easy grinding and questing, to hit a shitload of timesinks at 60.If I wanted to spend 8 hours raiding a single instance I'd have stayed with EverQuest.Strath/Scholo/UBRS/LBRS are fine, but I think they made a mistake
when they added MC and the kinds of items you get from raiding there. The gap between MC geared players and casual is getting ridiculous now.At one time keeping both types of players closer together was a concern(hi rested exp bonus) but I guess not anymore.

No argument there. In AB I frequently see people and just turn around and run away because no amount of skill is going to get me through their gear unless I have a really vigilant healer (I never do). My gear is reasonably good, but against people, especially warriors and rogues, in BWL gear, it gets UGLY. High end melee itemization is getting very powerful these days.

I've already tried something very similar, (the up and left arrow so i walk in circles) and it didn't work. Ill try it again though, maybe my book actually slipped off though I doubt it.

WoW from when I was in beta was a pile of shit for PvP. It was no secret when I was in beta, I told people how bad it was. It always has been it always will be. Sure, the ranking systems were added, it's so beyond skewed now because of BG's. Organized raids if you have a consitant one can eaisly do 500k+ a week of CP's, sometimes more. I got to rank 9 farming CP's in Felwood pre-BG's. After that, I've fallen to rank 6 just trying to keep pace.

My guild does MC, we've killed Rag a few times now, we also run BWL and have gotten to Broodlord twice, but haven't killed him yet. The problem with it, is the constant grind. The gear keeps getting better and better, yet leaving the people behind who don't run MC. The purple PvP rewards are harder to obtain then MC gear it seems. It has to stop, gear now makes a bigger difference then it ever did in the early part of the game, and now MC is a joke with 16 debuff slots, and all the epic weapons. We clear Luci to Rag in just over 4 hours. It's a joke.

The game still lacks real content besides endless instance farming and 40 man raids. PvP is terrible, and I imagine it will remain as such. Which sucks, cause the gameplay is untouched.

The other problem is, Blizzard has a chokehold on the rest of the MMORPG market. It's going to take one hell of a game to make it with WoW still selling strong.

The game overall is faily boring now. I've got 3 BF pieces, 4 NS pieces, a Gutgore, and a Corehound.. Quick Strike ring, Myrmidons Signet, and really, getting gear anymore is brutally stale.
