Arenal Volcano National Park?

I was thinking Arenal, Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna were all acceptable. I was there in spring of 2006. Awesome place, great times. Costa Ricans are really laid back and nice people. Very mellow. I was taken aback, plus I could actually understand and speak their Spanish because they are slow. Arenal Volcano is active. I actually watched it spew lava and such. Quite frightening actually. My tour guide assured me that we were on the opposite side of the lava flow. Costa Rica has one of the richest and most diverse flora and fauna around. From the dense rain and cloud forests, to the sandy beaches, Costa Rica is a lovely place to visit. Ok Tully baby, you're up! |
I'd love to visit Costa Rica soon. The guy I work for was there for a couple months last year so I got his good reports, too. If it doesn't get too popular in the next 10 yrs, I can see retiring there or somewhere in Central America.
While Tully is getting to his next place, I hope you don't mind if I get all graphic on us, again. This is a nice collection of photos of flora and fauna in Costa Rica....hmmm, if I ever have two more daughters, I might name them Flora and Fauna 7 days in Costa Rica - a set on Flickr http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...20pics7/11.jpghttp://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nal_park_5.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nalvolcano.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ionalPark3.jpghttp://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...orEruption.jpg |
That's awesome Nick. I love it when people add pictures, personal stories to the "game". It makes it so much more fun and interesting, so no, of course I don't mind.
I would have posted pics but it is kind of a hassle; I'm not that computer savvy. Costa Rica was an amazing trip - "La pura vida!" |
ok, cowboy...time to get up...

I'm up, I'm up... my net not so much. Thunder storm last night, quite the show.
Anyway go! |

Sorry lads, I had some sort of directional dyslexia. Reading Eastern, yet thinking Wester. I mean, for fuck's sake, I almost asked about Cananda or the US? I just thought Greenland was more esoteric. Well, fuck me.

Are you along an oceanic coastal area?
PS...very sorry, Tul. I thought for a minute I was in the "Who In the World Am I" thread. Hey bud, I hope I'm not taxing your good humor...bad jokes R-me and the hair net thing...almost made me post up the true fact that as a young entry level teenager I used a hair net so my "do" would stay put during my nocturnal emissions. |

Wiki seems to think there are 5 oceans in the world: Ocean - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I am not along one of those oceans according to my map. My map seems to think I'm on a strait not an ocean. Oh, and you'd really have try hard to offend my sense of humor. |

Wonder if George Strait is playing there this weekend? It was Pusan when I was there, now it seems they call it Busan. I was actually surprised to find I couldn't find it on a google map once I picked it as a location. It's the second largest city in South Korea and it's main port city. Another port I spent time in back in the 80's while cleaning toilets on the USS Cape Cod AD-43. Shopping was big there. I must have brought back 50 pairs of Nike shoes, all different sizes for family and friends. The shoes were being sold right outside the gate of the factory for about $3 a pair. Bought a full set of luggage for under $50, which was well made and lasted nearly 20 years. Also had a nice suit tailor made there for $26. After the Navy I used that suit for job interviews and eventually, once hired, for important meetings and court dates. I still have that suit and recently I've been able to fit into it again, too bad it's wool and doesn't really work well here in Mexico. I hang on to it, like many fashions it's gone in and out of style several times over the years. It works well if someone in the family is getting married, buried or going to jail. While moving down here I found an unopened box with a pair of Nike's, my size, in a closet. They, unlike the suit, are not in style. Screw it they're comfortable and I use them to walk in the morning. My good friend down here saw them one day and asked if that the latest style in the US. I of course told him "why yes, they are." You're up fellow Parrothead. |
ok, find me...

NH?

Can you see water from where you are?
|
tully - yes
gd - what kind of water? |
Salt or fresh, enough to swim in but not a pool. Enough to be considered for a position on a general map as opposed to a puddle or reservoir.
* Or, if youre at a bar is it a chaser or mixed? Sparkling or still?! |

Jim Thorpe, Pa?
Edit: Looks like Jim Thrope has a river. My first glance at the map showed some railroad tracks, seems those track follow a river. But I'll wait for you to tell me I'm wrong to avoid guessing twice and thus not violating the rules. |
Are you within 25 miles of any of PA's borders?

unc,
I'd love to see your Corvette...either post it up, or a link please if you already did...unless you meant that figuratively, like you know a Corvette there has your name on it. Since Debbie Harry was in a movie called Union City, I'll guess that. Are you in Union City, PA? And if you are, why?f |
