sacre coeur?

oh, gd, you must be a holy girldetective...that's exactly where I am. Your turn again.
These are pics I took myself from my unauthorized prowling around inside Sacre Coeur Cathedral. I was following along behind a guided tour when I noticed what looked like a stone wall with a boarded up doorway to what appeared to be a circular stairway leading upward from the upper elevation floor I was already on. So as the tour moved along, I noticed that a couple of the boards were loose, so I quickly pulled them open just enough to quickly sneak in...it was pitch black dark but I started to slowly feel my way upward on the stairs....crunch crunch crunch under my feet, I wasn't sure what that was and couldn't see...but as I went around a few times on my way up the stairs, more light was starting coming in and I could finally see that I was stepping on ages of piled up bird poop along with dead bird carcasses crunching under my feet...yummy. Finally I found myself looking out of one of the high minerettes overlooking the cathedral and Paris...pretty cool sight. I was then tempted to climb out on the roof to get even a better look...but I chickened out and that will have to be next time. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...acreCoeur4.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...acreCoeur3.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...acreCoeur2.jpg here you can see the Eiffel Tower off in the distance: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...acreCoeur1.jpg And here's a gratuitous pic of the ugly american BadNick that I found in this batch of photos...quite a few years ago I might add. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...lyamerican.jpg And a couple more nice pics of Sacre Coeur that I found on the 'net: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...coeurparis.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...-1500x1000.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...oeur-Paris.jpg |
Thanks for the great pics, badboy. I think of Paris as my next home.
