Oh... and those of us who predicted other bunkers? We were right :p |
i dunno if anyone else here heard that they will be selling the day after each airing on iTunes LOST and Desperate Housewives for $1.99.
If it's full screen maybe I'd be interested in it, but if it's just the size of an ipod screen, not going to happen. |
I can't wait until queen bitch Michelle Rodriguez meets Kate. That'll be a throw down cat fight everyone would love to see. :D
|
I thought the last episode was pretty weak. To much time was spent on the lottery ticket.
|
Quote:
Personally, I am very interested in the latter. I like they way in which their pasts influence their present and show an interconnectedness to everything that existed prior to their internment on the island. |
thats great but i think they spent way to much time on it.
|
alright episode...
i wonder if all the dead survivors from the tail section got "the sickness" that desmond was asking about and the french lady was talking about taking out the other scientists that were on her boat... |
Quote:
I like your theory better, JS. :D |
I was thinking that it was either the Others that got them OR that Smoke/Machine thing.
I think the Others have had their brains scambled by either the electromagnetism thing or the effects of the psychological experiments... maybe both. |

Lost has really surprised me. After the season finale, I thought "yeah, they lost me." The situation in the Hatch and some of the other things that are happening have gotten me addicted again, though :) I just hope they don't drag the "Jin/Mike/Sawyer with the tail section, no one knows they're alive and on the island" story too far. I'm eager for the reunion :) On a side note, this story makes Sawyer seem a bit softer to me. If Sawyer was real, he'd attack the guy.. or spend the rest of his life hunting for him ;) |
Damn!
I found out Walt was on the milk carton in Hurley's dream sequence. |
Quote:
"Dead survivors"   I guess there is finally an answer for that "where do you bury the survivors" joke. :D |
Quote:
is this a joke??? |
Quote:
When Hurley was asleep at the computer, dreaming he was gorging on the food in the food pantry, he was drinking from a milk carton. Jin shows up out of nowhere and Hurley turns around while drinking, and the camera shows a side view of Hurley holding the carton up, with Walt's face on the side. That's when Jin tells him 'things are going to change'. Oh, and the guy in the chicken-suit shows up, too. :D |
Something occurred to me last night, considering it was a Sydney to LA flight, there aren't many Aussies that survived the flight...

In last night's episode Jin says something to Michael to get him to turn around. Does anyone know what he said? I listened to it 3x and couldn't figure it out.

Jins command of the english language seems to have made a huge jump since the last episode...
|

Quote:
Jin's English has improved a little too much I'd say, at least from one episode to the next. At this rate he'll be fluent by the end of the season. |
I think they're going for the "the best way to learn a language is to emerse yourself in it" English learnin' for Jin.
|
Solid episode. Anybody notice anything...hinky? I kept my eyes open, searching the background and such, but didn't spot anything. Of course, I'm not the most observant of men.
Random thoughts: That teddy bear dangling when the 'others' walked by... Well, it really creeped me out. Don't know why, but man, was it spooky. Where the hell is Desmond? |
what is up with the 3 weeks till the next new episode? argh!
|
I guess they are letting people catch up? Kinda sucks considering all the other shows on tonight are New...

I ran it through an anagram generator - one of the results was: Noah Salvar Noah = Do I really have to explain that one? Salvar = 'to save' in Spanish according to Babelfish Anyone also notice the Dharma synbol in the 'cave' that the 3 castaways were taken to? I guess this is the 'other' site referred to in the induction film played by Locke and Jack. |
One other point.
Latin for 'Swan' is cygnus. Cynus is also known as the north star and Cygnus x1 is a suspected black hole within our own galaxy. http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~dolan/con...ns/Cygnus.html Anyone notice anything familiar with this? "Cycnus, Poseidon's son, had been exposed at birth, lain out on the seashore to die. However, a swan took pity and flew down to care for the newborn. Cycnus became the king of Colonae, a city north of Troy, but he wasn't a particularly good king. He set his own children adrift on the sea when his new wife fell in love with one of his sons (Tenes). He then killed his wife when he found she had lied to him. Cycnus defended Troy when Achilles' onslaught. However in their individual struggle, Achilles proved too strong, as he choked the life out of Cycnus. Poseidon grieved for his son and turned him into a swan." |
Reruns for two weeks!!! How will I manage???

So, what character would you not mind dying?
|
Ha. It'll probably be one of the new bunch.
Or Bernard or Jo-anne. Notice that they didn't say what really happened with all of the other 'tailies'. It's just a studio gotcha to allow any number of new people to walk in out of the jungle. |
finally caught up on the Tivo...
Must say that I was quite surprised to see Bernard and have him not be the guy I thought he was going to be... |

Ooh Shannon's too cute to kill. Honestly I'm sorta hoping it's Michael. If I have to hear him yell "Walt!" one more time...
:) |
I'd have to say Michelle Rodrigez's character. She is such a controling bitch.....
|
Quote:
I like Sawyer, but he's sure getting the lions share of shitbox lines. For that I'd have him killed. Kate is hot. She won't die. Jin has amazingly picked up a lot of English in the course of one episode. For that he can die. Shannon serves no purpose on the show, so she can die, unless she's going to do it with Sayid. Jack is too whiney. For that he can die. That about sums it up. |
I agree, Michael is annoying now I understand wanting his son back, but running thru the dangerious jungle screaming "Walt!" is uber-stupid... I guess they could kill off Michelle Rodriguez, but I figured they would keep her around for Sawyer...
|
Not Shannon! :(
I hope Sawyer kicks the shit out of Michelle Rodriguez's character. |
DAMMIT!!! my cable box turned off and Tivo didn't get it.. *shakes fist* damn you time warner cable!!!!!
|
Cyn you can get it on the net... i've already got it...
not that great of an episode till the end... Jin seems to have lost some of that english he was talking so much last episode... sounds like next week will be weird... basically starting the series over... except from view of the tail end survivors... |
Quote:
while it may not be a good episode compared to others the wife gets annoyed more than I do...just annoying that TWC can reboot my box and turn it off at will... they deny it each and everytime but I catch it happening since the Tivo is recording most of the day. |

Yeah, those two probably won't be hooking up anytime soon.
|
She shoulda listened to Walt when he said, "SHHHHHH."
|
Anyone else think it's hilarious that Michelle Rodriguez shot Shannon? Not really the Shannon dying part, but there she was, bitching at Echo because they lost a person going through the jungle. Then she goes and shoots Shannon. I don't know, I just think that's funny. Especially the look on her face when she realized that she shot a real person.
|
It's all part of the testing. Welcome to the machine.

Quote:
I love it when characters die doing something stupid. Shannon was hot and all, but outside of that, the least interesting character on the show. |
Quote:
So, who was the castaway killed? Which one counted? Was it the chick that disappeared on the way up the ravine or was it Shannon? If the 'tailie' counts as the castaway killed...well, it seems like an easy way to build some drama by shooting Shannon, but not have to kill off a member of the core cast. |
Guthmund, that would be disappointing. I HATE Shannon.
|
Quote:
Or is there site that encapsulates all this? |
yah check out http://lost-media.com/ and click on "Lost episodes"... theyve got pretty complete synopsis of every episode... season one and two(so far)
|
Some good questions raised in this thread lately... What did happen to the missing girl who was with Sawyer and the others? Is Shannon dead? Is Michelle Rodriguez really that bad of an actor???
Did anyone else notice Shannon walk past Jack in the hospital after her step father died? |
Quote:
 most excellent! Thanks very much! |
Quote:
The whole episode, it seems to me, was designed to make the viewer sympathetic to her plight. Poor girl, lost her dad, her step-mother is a bitch, had to turn down a prestigious internship... all in a slip-shod manner to explain why she turned into the psycho-tramp that we were introduced to in the flashbacks from the first season. The whole thing did nothing for me. All that said, I just can't imagine that they'll kill her off. Not with Boone already gone. Quote:
|
I too noticed Jack slip by Shannon in that scene. Kinda makes me want to sing "It's a small world". I also amused myself by imagining what Matthew Fox's day was like that day of shooting. "Ok Matt, you just have walk by the camera kinda hurriedly, not saying a thing, then you're done for the week. You're not in the rest of the episode."
It's probably just me, but I've found that the most likeable characters are Jin, Sayid, and now Echo. There's just something about them that makes me more interested in their story lines. |
Quote:
I liked the actor who plays Echo when he was in Oz and I like him now. There's just something inherently dangerous, yet cool about him. |
Remember the episode where Jack tried to save that girl(who Jack ended up marrying) only to have her miraculously healed at the end? They brought in two people on stretchers in that episode, the other was a guy and he died. I'm betting that Shannon's dad was the other guy, and that he and Jack's wife crashed into each other. In the newest episode, Jack was probably on his way out to go run up and down the stadium where he met Desmond.

I've been on a couple of sites that are really annoying me now.
http://thedharmainitiative.org/ - Click on LOGIN and it opens another window to enter the username and password http://www.dharmaindustries.com/ - Click ENTER then type (obviously) 4 8 15 16 23 42 to initialize and it gives you a box to enter MEMBER ID. After 3 attempts it says SYSTEM LOCKED I can't get any further than this on either site and bugging me! I've tried everything I can think of; the numbers, names, hanso stuff, dharma stuff, AAARRRGGH!!! |

I don't think Michelle Rodriguez is a bad actor. She maybe laying it on a bit too thick tho. :hmm: I'm hoping Kate kicks her ass...perv that I am. |

Thumbs up for last night's episode. I liked it a lot. I think I have a new found appreciation for Michelle Rodriguez. I didn't like her at the start. I found they tried to make her a little more friendly this time around. It's going to be interesting to watch the two tribes merge over the coming weeks.
|
Last night was a good episode, left me wanting to see more of the tail-ies 1st 48 days...
|
I thought it was crap.
First of all it was filler and I hate filler. It was interesting to see what happened to the tail-ies, it certainly wasn't 'a special extended episode' worth of interest. It probably wasn't even a full hour worth of interest, to tell the truth. I think the problem with the episode (other than me really wanting to know what Sayid is going to do with Miss Hardcore) was that I just wasn't all that interested in them. I know nothing about them; I've got no back story. I barely know their names. The 'Echo' thing was interesting and the bit with the radio where Barnard made contact with Boone was nice, but the rest of the show...'twas worthless. Could've all been summed up in couple of sentences when the two groups got together. Next week previews look pretty interesting, eh? |
While I thought last night's episode wasn't as great as they made it sound, there may be interesting clues that weren't part of the plot. For instance, the U.S. Army stamp on the knife, and the interestingly pleased look on Goodwin's face when they found the bunker and radio...
I still dislike Michelle Rodriguez just as much. I was hoping to get a good explanation as to why she is such a bitch all the time - something that would make me more sympathetic to her character. What they showed didn't really do that for me. In the beginning, she was very compassionate and caring, but it didn't take long for her to become very domineering and aggressive. Not to mention, now she is responsible for the deaths of at least two people (the guy she wrongfully accused and threw in the pit and Shannon). In the previews it looked like she was afraid of Sayid and maybe even attacking him pre-emptively at one point. Seems to me like she (her assertive, yet wrong instincts) is more dangerous to the group than he is... Unfortunately for me, it looks like they've developed her too much to kill her off and lose the opportunity to keep the focus on her. |
I like the Annalouisa character. I have feeling she is going to have been either a marine or special ops. She will likely have a lot in common with Sayeed.
I think we are going to find that she has been though some pretty nasty shit in her past and that all of this is bringing it back (her back story will come, just give it time). She will be redeemed (if I can read my achetypes correctly). It looked like she had Sayeed tied up in the promo. He is definately not someone I would want to piss off. |
I don't like Ana's 'Lord of the Flies' character. I hate that Nathan was killed. Fine young Canadian lad, who did not kowtow to Ana's egomania.
Can't figure out why they would get rid of his character so quickly. |
Quote:
|
It also showed that "the others", are a bit more organized than a bunch of shoeless maniacs, since they had 2 spies (Ethan and Goodwin) ready to go within minutes of the crash on opposite sides of the island, almost like "they" were expecting flight 851. Hmmmmm.
|
yea, I'm with Guthmund. I'm not as vehemently against the episode, but it wasn't anything special. I was hoping we'd be introduced to some new aspects of who "the others" are, but we weren't. All we saw was that they're sneaky, and they take people, especially kids.... which we already knew.
and the extra 5 minutes were a total gip! they were just clips from last week! |
i thought it was alright... i was expecting a few episodes about the tail section tribe... maybe even the rest of the season... and we would get some of their backstories and whatnot... it was definently weird not having the normal characaters in it...
it was an alright episode but nothing really special... |
I thought it was a good episode. But I really can't stand Ana Lucia. She's a little too macho.
|
I liked it very much. It was nice to see an episode shot in a different way than the usual "present-flashback-present" approach.
I noted the kid's teddy bear. Wasn't it the same one as the other's were dragging along in the previous episode? |
That's what I was thinking Nancy....
|
^^ But if it were then you'd think that Eko would have recognized it?!
|
Who's to say Echo didn't recognize it? I don't think he could have done much against a whole group of Others.
He's waiting for his revenge. |
The main thing I noticed from this episode was Bernard on the radio talking to Boone. In this week's episode it was Day 40, on the other side of the Island, Day 40 was the day the raft was launched and Boone had already been dead for almost a week.
Am I missing something here or is this a GIANT mistake? |
How about all the screwed up music (skips and stuff) whevever they are in the bunker?
Remeber how in Fight CLub Tyler Durden inserted pictures of his penis all over the place in individual scenes? Well they do that stuff whenever they are near the bunker except I don't have Tivo and don't know what the scenes are. Anyone know? |
Good, not great show last night. Lot's of talk about already being dead... feeds the purgatory theory.
I didn't get why Echo was being all quiet and stuff. What's with that? Early prediction for next week. Jacks jealous of Kates and Sawyers relationship; in an attempt to thwart it, he tells Kate he likes her; Kate falls for it, they share a brief moment of intimacy, the Jack says or does something dumb to jeopardize it; Kate goes back to Sawyer when he inevitably wakes from his com; which will probably happen when Kate kisses him. |
Quote:
I liked the episode. As I suspected Ana-Lucia is messed up. Now we just need to know why she was in Australia. I suspect she was there to run away from her actions and was on the flight to return to justice (kind of a recurring theme with the show). Good to see Bernard and his wife finally hook up. Do you think they will have a hot sex scene later in the season? I think Eko is going to be a nice counterpoint to John Locke. They are both seem to be mystically driven. As for the Sayid and Ana-Lucia both being dead... it fits the purgatory theme nicely. I still don't think they are in purgatory for real... just symbolically. Everyone on the island seems to have something to atone for... those that can't atone are killed off. (Remember the guy saying, Nathan was not on the list, he wasn't a good person). The innocents, like the children, have been removed from the equation. Because they are innocent. |
[QUOTE=Mondak] except I don't have Tivo and don't know what the scenes are.
QUOTE] can't you get a VCR? |

Even knowing that Ana lost her baby doesn't make me like her or feel sorry for her. At least Sawyer is funny and when a true emergency comes up he can be counted on. He just doesn't want anybody to know it. As far as I can see, Ana is just an idiot with little redeaming quailites.
I also teared up at the Bernard/Rose reunion. I was waiting for it ever since they found the tail section survivors. |
I didn't really like this one either. Ana would be a good character if they'd just delve into her a little bit more. I get it. She's angry. Let's move it along a bit, shall we? Surely there are other emotions and avenues to explore than pouty-anger, eh?
I understand for story reasons why they did the things they did, but when Ana-Lucia gave Michael that list of things to bring back, why did he go? Quote:

Quote:
As for Sayid, I like his reaction. Sayid, like so many of the survivors, is a broken man. He is a good person who did some very evil things and has had some nasty things done to him. He didn't want to torture the Other that they captured... but he did. And clearly 40 days later it is still bothering him. I still say that he an Eko are going to have a lot in common when it comes down to it. I would not be surprised to find out that Eko was responsible for genocide in Rawanda. |
Quote:
And I think that Eko has more in common with Locke than with Said, they are both more "into" the island than the others. |
I think you're right, Roland. I know he tortured Sawyer, but I don't remember him having a go at Ethan.
Quote:
As for Sayid, I'm disappointed that he didn't do anything. I didn't expect him to beat the snot out of her or shoot her in the knee cap, but I expected something. I'm supposed to buy into the story that he had strong enough feelings for this girl to do the things he did, but not strong enough to sustain even the tiniest bit of rage? A couple of hours tied to a tree by the woman who shot Shannon and we get...empathy and some psuedo-philosophy? Bah.. |
Right it was Sawyer... my bad.
I think Sayid still has something inside. Slow burn as it were. |
"Wednesday, Nov. 30, 9/8c
2x09 - What Kate Did Kate's original crime that started her life on the run is revealed. Meanwhile, the survivors lay one of their own to rest, Kate sleeplessly watches over a feverish Sawyer, and Mr. Eko has a surprise for Locke regarding the hatch." Finally it'll be revealed! I'm curious to see what Kate did that made even her mother so afraid of her.. |
I missed the last episode (on the 23rd). Does anybody know where I can download it, preferrably for free?
|
Pony up the two bucks and get it from itunes. It's a good show - pay for it.

I think either:
a) that was the kid walking by or b) one of the Others just liked the bear and kept it... I like to think "a" is the most likely reason. |
I like the "redemption" theory, except...
- Who are the Others in relation to this? Are they there to punish to people? Protect the innocents? Help the person grow? - Why haven't they taken Claire's baby yet? Maybe it's just a matter of time before this is all revealed.... |
