Last one from last nite. It was rather low lite and I was hand holding the camera. Apologize for the rather soft focus.

Went up to Oklahoma this weekend to see another TFP'r and a very old friend of mine, Rock Ogre. Gorgeous day on Saturday and I got to ride his motorcycle around the countryside for a bit. Today, was another story. Very cold with the windchill. I managed to force myself to get up early and brave the cold and try to get a sunrise photo. Oklahoma doesn't beat Florida, when it comes to sunrises, tho.

Looks like under the planet is worth visiting. I'm sure it beats Dallas. :D

I finally found a sunset this past weekend. Not the greatest, but it gives me hope. This catfish pond is about a two minute walk from where I am staying.

I'm at Fort Lauderdale Beach for the Air and Sea Show. Here's this morning's sunrise about an hour, ago. A Navy frigate was setting anchor as the sun was coming up.

Heading to Key West to install some equipment. Was going to take pictures on the way back out of the keys, but just wanted to get home. The drive down was good though.

What a great night on the water with good seafood and cold beer. Shot taken f4 1/60. I did bring out the blue just a bit in photoshop.

tropicdiver 07-26-2005 08:32 PM

Hey, Joe.. where in the Keys is the Keys Fisheries Restaurant located?

cJoe 07-27-2005 04:10 AM

On Marathon heading towards the 7mile bridge. Turn right at 35th Street. There is a BBQ place on the corner. Just follow the street a short way to a small restaurant and marina. 3390 GULFVIEW AVENUE, MARATHON, FL 33050. Its all outdoor sitting. Easy on the wallet and good food.

Figured I should put this here, for anyone trying to find all the sunrise photos in one place.

Tropic, I think you asked me once if you could stay overnight at Maccu Pichu, and I had some roundabout answer. Didn't occur to me then (guess I wasn't thinking) that you probably just wanted to know if you could get sunrise/sunset shots there. So here is the answer in picture form: a resounding yes!

tropicdiver 09-29-2005 05:39 PM

Shpoop, as they say, a picture is worth 1000 words. Great photo and thanks for the answer.

I was finally able to get a good sunset photo. I was never able to get a good sunrise photo because of the buildings in the way, but now that we're moving to the other side of the building, I have a clear shot to the horizon and was able to capture this sunset with construction cranes.

I like that shot a lot tropic for two reasons - one, it's a great shot and, two, I love shots of aircraft. I also really like the composition with one aircraft on the ground, one taking off, and one flying high above.

Sultana 10-24-2005 12:04 PM

Fresnelly! That second shot is *so beautiful*, makes me want to use it as wallpaper.

Fantastic.

Thanks, JJ. I really haven't been too thrilled about the photo opp's here in Dallas, as compared to back in Florida. Fortunately, I'll be traveling to a couple different Florida coasts (Panama Beach and Sanibel Island) over the next month and a half, and hopefully, I'll have some revitalized enthusiasm, again. The Panama Beach run will be this year's last show (homecoming) for the Blue Angel's .
