Isn't it predicted that in 50 years or so, all the coral reefs will be dead and the heat from global warming will have wiped out all the plankton and algae that produce 60% of the world's oxygen? If that is so, that is when Jesus should be coming back. We'll see.

hey, you brothers and sisters! let's get on track!
1. first, the color of the Jesus skin was not what he was about! to know his color is not to know the superior love of him! so don't worry about the color, it's ok! 2. if the Jesus come back or not, you still have to be the good one! is this yes? hello Jesus or no Jesus, you have to be responsible to you to be the good man or lady. by this i mean, be nice whether or not Jesus comes. 3. have some love for you and me and it will all be ok! that is what i mean. |

… but would Jesus wear a Rolex on his television show?
The Jesus of Nazareth who was became the foundation of the Christian religions was a carpenter. While working, he was out in the sun. Guess what color he was? *BROWN* just like everyone else who works in the sun consistently. Specific shade of brown? Anyone who cares hasn't listen to a word that's been attributed to Jesus. The Third Commandment from Exodus 20 states (KJV), "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain". This includes not only cursing using "the Lord's name", but also televangelism, the Crusades, and any other item were someone uses either Jesus's or Jehovah's name to justify their own power grab. If Jehovah/Allah/<insert one of the Nine Billion Names of God here> does exist, there are a shitload of 'Holy' people shocked to find themselves in Hell. The Moral Standard in Christianity is stated in Matthew 23:37-40 (KJV): Quote:
Will Jesus be back? By some accounts, He's back every time someone accepts Him on faith. While it's not exactly the thing that split the sky for everyone, for those who believe it's still very powerful. Reigning a thousand years on Earth? Umm, well, not all Christians believe that. I almost got thrown out of church when I was 11 for bringing this idea forward. In hindsight, it looks so far like I was right. The reverend's theory was that every 2000 years something significant: Creation, The Flood, Christ's birth, Christ's return. He was certain that it would be before 2000 AD, "like a thief in the night". I pointed out that a thief won't come if they think someone is watching, and that therefore Jesus won't return until there are no longer any believers. Well, it looks like so far I was right, although the reverend was livid with anger at the time. Will He be back? If He exists and if His actions are consistent with the words that have been attributed to Him, He will return. Otherwise, He won't. From here forward it's all a matter of what you have faith in. |

I think the ultimate question DarkBlack asked was not really ,"Is he coming back" but "Would he be accepted or shunned?"
The answer is "Both." But I think a lot of people who know Jesus (or think they know him) will be very disappointed if he did come back. Why? 1. If he came back and was accepted, he would only be accepted by a number of people. I think we all can agree that there are a lot of people out there who would not sign on with Jesus, even if he was doing great things. There are a lot of christians out there today that the bible refers to as "lukewarm christians". In this day and age lukewarm christians are practically deists. They operate their lives with very little devotion to God or Jesus. They deny God in their personal lives and are spiritually malnourished. Since they do not have the time, or make the time for God in their lives I do not think that they would go the length to really sign on with Jesus. Jesus made it clear that following him was not an easy thing to do, and it required many people to give up the things that they wished to cling to so closely. Even in Jesus' time there were men and women who followed him because they wanted something from him. Very few followed him for the sake of actually "bringing God's kingdom to earth." I think that would be the way it is today, many would follow him asking for miracles, signs, or even food (remember the feeding of the 5000 men?). Jesus, being who He is, would certainly have compassion for these people and would even pity them for their short-sightedness, but his true business would be with those few who are actually interested and devoted to God. 2. Of course he would be denied and shunned as well. I'm not just talking about those atheists who wish to prove that God does not exist. I'm talking about his own people! Local churches who are not living as they should might even be the ones to shun him. Lukewarm Christians who come to church sundays and maybe wednesdays, but are afraid to give up the sin in their lives would be the ones to shun him. Let us remember that Jesus was denied by his own people! The people who had been looking for the messiah for thousands of years. So of course if he came back there would be many christians who would accuse him of heresy in the church, just like then. Those who are truely waiting and watching for his return will know when he returns. Those who are busy with other things will continue to be busy with other things when he returns. I guess it comes down to a personal question at a very personal level, which is my question for you reading this: Are you truely waiting and watching for him? If so, why? If not, why not?

The question as to whether Jesus would be treated differently this time is a good one. Probably not. Miracles or otherwise, he was a rabblerouser. He told the power structure that they were full of it. They dealt with him. Why would this time be different? They might not crucify him in the flesh, but they'd crucify him in the media-- the death of a million phosphor dots. Cruel. Like Bill Clinton, only cubed.
The question as to whether Jesus is coming back is not worth worrying about, even if you're a biblical literalist. If his teachings actually work for you, you don't need him to be there. Nor do you need to dwell on the end times as a release from the frustrations of the day. Just live. Last edited by Rodney; 09-06-2003 at 12:42 PM.. |

Ok, this is a topic that is of special interest to me. The physical appearance of Jesus will come at the end of the seven year tribulation that will happen to the Earth. The first thing that will happen immediately before the Tribulation will be the Rapture in which the dead Christians will rise up first and then the alive Christians will be taken up to heaven via Jacob's Ladder (because Satan controls the atmosphere and J'sL protects those that go up to heaven). The first three and a half years of Tribulation shall be allright, however, Christians will seriously have their rights infringed upon with the Antichrist basically establishing a one world government and furthering an international religion that welcomes all religions and accepts their words as truth. At the 3.5 years mark, that's when all hell breaks loose, because the Antichrist will be "killed" and he will return from the grave three days later and proclaim that he is indeed God. The punishments brought by God the Father will continue worsen for the non-Christians, until the final battle on the hills of Megiddo (many scholars think) in which Christ will come back with all the Christians and will defeat the armies of Satan. Christ will then set up a judgment throne to judge the Christians based upon how many people they shared the word of Christ with and how many people they brought into the Kingdom and he will proclaim those as "Good and faithful servants" those that were saved but didn't even try will still have a place in His Kingdom, just not one that was greater earned by those Christians that showed the Word of God to people. A reign of a thousand years shall take place, and Earth shall be like it was in the Garden of Eden, the way that God wished it to be. Then God the Father shall judge Satan and his minions and cast them into the Lake of Fire forever, Earth as we know it shall be destroyed and The City of Heaven shall be open to all believers in Christ and peace shall reign throughout the land. That's the short version that I have memorized, I could go into so much more details about the Return of Christ. See, my point of view is, throw away all the Dogma, all the other extra stuff, and look at Christ specifically, His message for all those that had ears, and His message was that no one got through the Father except through Him, and whoever shall confess with his mouth that Christ is the savior and whoever believe in Him, that they shall have everlasting life. That's my take on it, that's the meat and potatoes right there, no matter what you do, so long as you repent and say hey, I messed up, but will you still take me, and Christ's response will always be "Yes my child." Unless it is too late and you have continually rejected Him and did not follow that one simple request, then it's bad news my friends. I am deeply sorry for those of you that have been hurt by religion, but as someone said on another thread "There's religion and then there is faith" I choose faith and my faith is that Christ is my personal Lord and Savior and that He will return for me.

If he was Christ this would be the second coming. Out of the 100,000 plus spots in heaven, most of us are going to hell. Especially all those so called Christians who celebrate the
Shabbat on Sunday when Christ was a Jew who says it's Saturday. |

I personally have a hard time believing this guy is what the bible says he is, because if i were back in those times, and found my self in a position of a monk or whatever who would be writting things that would one day become the bible i would've chosen to right stories with the same morals behind them as they did. I see it as guidelines for a successful society. And wow relegion is amazing. Makes people follow the rules for a successful society, and if they don't eternal damnation They don't even need proof they just need to know that its a possiblity, and make that possiblity so horrible that it would never be worth it to even question it. Relgion also makes people very forgiving. Karma is a great idea that way people will just sit by and have some resolve if say sombody stole your car you'd be able to rest knowing that they will be punished on a grander scale I tell you what whoever did contribute these scriptures was very intelligent, as its stood the test of time. Jesus (as the bible depcits him) is a possibitly, but the chances are low. less than 5%

You might notice him coming back, iwth the sky being rent apart and a large portion of the world on fire. If you do miss the "signs" of his returning, you might want to start hanging out with some christians so they can point it out to you.

Are you referring to the Rapture? The Rapture is when all Jesus believing individuals are taken directly to heaven. Then, after the Rapture, chaos ensues and the events of the book Revelation occur.
If you're a Christian, I highly suggest you read the Left Behind series. It's a 12 book series (only 8 or 9 written thus far), that deals with the events described in the book of Revelations as if they were literal. From the Rapture, to the lotus, to the brief reign of the devil, to the final establishment of God's kingdom on Earth. It's an amazing book series. Great reading.

Was this before he was crucified or after FEL? Cuz if it was before, then he did come back in their lifetimes (3 days after the Resurrection) and stayed for 40 days and then left to Heaven via Mt. Olive.
