Yes, that's it! Thanks a lot!

No one will probably know, but it's worth a try.
I've heard this song once, and it was a few months ago. It's a country song ( I NEVER listen to country music so, i dont know any people or anything really ). I know it was about some guy reading a newspaper about a guy killing himself, or something? I know in the video it shows him in a truck, looking at the newspaper. I really don't remember it much, so I can't give too much info, so I doubt anyone can help, but like I said, it's worth a try! Thanks for any help. |
JeremyS,
I believe you are referring to Blaine Larson's song, How Do You Get That Lonely. I personally love the song, and for a young guy, he really has a great voice. Here are the song lyrics just to be sure: It was just another story written on the second page Underneath the Tiger's football score It said he was only eighteen, a boy about my age They found him face down on the bedroom floor There'll be services on Friday at the Lawrence Funeral Home Then out on Mooresville highway, they'll lay him 'neath a stone... How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all Is better than the life that you had How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go How do you get that lonely... and nobody know Did his girlfriend break up with him, did he buy or steal that gun? Did he lose a fight with drugs or alcohol? Did his Mom and Daddy forget to say I love you son? Did no one see the writing on the wall? I'm not blamin' anybody, we all do the best we can I know hindsight's 20/20, but I still don't understand... How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all Is better than the life that you had How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go How do you get that lonely... and nobody know It was just another story printed on the second page Underneath the Tiger's football score... |
90's rock/alternative song
The song I'm thinking features vocals similar to either gavin rossdale [bush] but very well could be by someone else...
A lot of the lyrics were indecipherable, due to the vocalist's bumbling, but I was able to figure out in the chorus had: "ey, ey, ey, ey....." ; 'Let me be' ; "hold me closer" and "like myself" all in the chorus, in various parts of it.... Although Nirvana's heart shaped box also contains the 'ey, ey,' in it - I'm positive this isn't the same song as described above. Thanks ! Keyshawn EDIT: After doing some searching on google and itunes, It's Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart....the vocalist doesn't sound like Scott Weiland at all, weird. |
Okay, i'm hopin somebody here can help me out. I've been lookin for this country song and cannot find it for the life of me. so bear with me while i try to resight some lyrics..anyway i think its an older country song,, maybe mid to late 90's? anyways the voice seems to sound like Randy Travis. the choris goes something like " and go go on a (somthing?).....go like you never gonna go again... and go go on a......(something, something) ..like a long lost friend.. Well thats all I could come up with for lyrics. the go's are kinda stretched out for a few sec.. well I hope somebody can help me out here. thanks for any help!!

Thank you very much indebut.

There is a song that comes on Hot97 around here (Hip-hop and R&B station)...It has a little bit of a funky trumpet sample, and every few seconds, there's a woman who says (i think), "I really need it"
Any ideas? Thanks |

It's actually "I Really Mean It" by Camron and Diplomats |
There is a "Smooth Jazz" song featuring a male and later, female, vocalist.
The most prevalent line throughout the song (chorus line, but lead singer sings it), is "I thought about you/ya." The song starts with the male singing and later the female singer sings back, as if answering his sentiments. I heard it on the radio yesterday (and before), and I really dig it, but have been unable to locate the artist and song name so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Hey guys,
I heard this song at a party last night, tried to copy some of the lyrics into my phone, but anything I got was of no use, no lyrics came up on google. It's a rock song, and includes a line that includes the words "only people come..." and I was pretty sure they mentioned "Sunset Boulevard" and the latter part of the song, the singer and the backup singer do a really catchy harmony together, over and over again. I hate when this happens. Dammit. |

country song with the video like "drop it like it's hot"
does anybody know the name of the country song, where the video is shot in black and white? and i swear to god it is the same damn thing as the snoop and pharell "drop it like it's hot". it shot in black and white, features half-naked women, and tilted cars, and even a yacht. it is bothering me that i dont know it, i need to find out!
|
I'm looking for info on a song, probably from the 70's, that has a couple of guys singing harmony and backed by guitars. The chorus lyrics include something like 'Are you living now...slowly finding how.. it's been a long long day, it's been a long long day' (could be 'way' instead of 'day'?)
thoughts? |
and another one that haunts me was from an episode of 'Ironside' where the story revolves around a rock band with a blind female singer and the lead guitarist gets electrocuted from someone tampering with his wah-wah pedal. They sing a song 'Light the way, won't you light the way... I think that we can make it and I know that we can survive so I 'm hoping that you will be with me just as long as I'm alive'.
I'd love to find out who really recorded the song and if it's available...or failing that I'm watching out for Ironside on dvd.... |
Okay, who was that group (circa 1990) whose first hit sampled "true" by spandau ballet? It was 2 (?) black guys who wore very african/hippy type clothing in the videos. Very trancey/trippy music.

there was a mitsubishi commercial not too long ago where a guy was in his car seeming to be jammin on a song, but when we see inside the car hes repeating a list of items to buy. does anyone remember the song?
i believe it said "electri-FY" numerous times almost indie/ new-new-wave sound. |

Hey people, this one will probably be easy. I tried various searches and came up with nothing
The song has a pop'ish grarage rock sound. The main chorus is: Do you ever say what you mean You are so 1989 1989 1989 (I think it repeats thrice) Thanks! |

I'm trying to find the theme music that played during the highlights on ESPN's NFL Primetime...
If you're a viewer of the show, you know what I'm referring to. It's an instrumental piece and can't really tell what instruments are played in it [it's an orchestrial/classical piece]. I'm pretty sure it was made just for the show, but I'd at least like to know the name of it. I've searched on google and itunes and nothing came up. [However, if you're searching for the classical music that they play on ESPN's NFL flims, which shows vintage super bowl highlights, it's available on iTunes.] Thanks, keyshawn |
ok, my turn. I was at ucb in new york and heard a song by jay-z that had a guy in the mix singing in a different language and sounded kinda arab.

here's another song I just heard on the radio [i forget which station too] and I can't identify it !
had the line in the chorus: it's been a long long time and later on had 'what does the world view of me' 'america as the most powerful of all' 'like a 15 year old waving a gun in their face' the last line may not be verbatim, but it's pretty close. Song has one male voice, sounds mainly alternative rock, but with a twinge of possibly country/folk. thanks, EDIT: After doing more searching on google, I've found the song. It's 'long long time' by Guy Forsyth |

I am trying to find out what song is played in the new Chrylser 300C commercial. It just aired during the first quarter of the Patriots/Bucs game.

I'm actually not trying to find a song, per se, but I recall hearing on the radio about some very funny Comedy/prank/spoof tapes that circulated awhile back in the 1980's, called the 'cooper tapes.' [not sure if that was his last name, but i have a hunch it is]. I also remember hearing that these tapes, who were made by this cooper guy, compiled the best gags and prank phone calls that he received over the year and are really good.
I'd just like to hunt one of these down and take a listen to them :) [I'm not asking where to find them, but what the title of these tapes are and if anyone can give me more information on them] regards, keyshawn EDIT: after doing a bit of searching earlier today [I completely forgot about this thread until I saw a new post], I'm pretty sure the comedian is Pat Cooper. |
Hopefully I can get what I'm looking for here. I was on the way back from dropping my girlfriend off at the bus this morning, and I heard a song come on the radio. I later realized it was a christian radio station.
The song had the lyrics "She is mine, she is loved"(mighta been other way around) in it, and I'm pretty sure they said it was by FFH. I looked through all the lyrics I could but I can't find that song. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks! |

just incase someone decides to look for this song, i've since found it.
"Streamline" by Newton and I just realized I could have edited my other post :| |
I just heard this song on the radio the other day but unfortunately they did not mention who it was sung by. It's male vocals and an acoustic guitar sort of like Jack Johnson but more toned down and sad.
The only lyric I managed to remember was "She couldn't care less, wearing that dress Pretty little thing" I'd be happy for any leads or ideas you guys may have :D Cheers, --jaded |
I googled those lyrics and got nothing. You sure you have them right?
|
Yep I googled as well couldn't find a thing but I'm sure those were the lyrics. It's a tough one :(

im looking for a song. I heard it @ a pub that had a DJ going on for the day. The DJ was playing everything from madonna to snoop.
I was too shy to go ask the title of the song though. Anyways the song is very slow and mellow. I think it was anyways, of course the DJ made it a bit more dancey. the only lyrics that I can remember is the chorus or just part of the song I believe goes "call my mother, call my mother" it could also be kill instead of call. also could be brother instead of mother. Sorry I know im working w/ nothing here, but I think its a fairly new song out there. |
Jadedfox: I'm almost entirely sure the song you're looking for is Pretty Little Thing by Fink. All I have to say is good luck finding it; if you're determined, the album featuring that track (titled Biscuits For Breakfast) is available on Amazon and what little I've managed to get my hands on is pretty good stuff.
Temporary_User: Can you say anything else at all about the track? Even describing the vocalist's voice would be handy... right now I could make a couple of suggestions but given how vague you are on the lyrics I'd be pretty much grasping at straws. |
hmm, very soft... male. almost female sounding.
although I havent heard much of them, im almost thinking like a death cab for cutie sounding guy. EDIT: i dont know if im making this harder or not, but it could also be "tell my mother" |
Quote:
A live version of the song can be found here http://www.finkworld.co.uk/fink_live.mov --jaded |

Temporary_User: It's a long shot, but the best I can come up with is Good-bye My Lover by James Blunt, who's currently doing the top-40 thing with You're Beautiful. I wouldn't say Blunt sounds much like Ben Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie), but he does seem to meet the criteria (namely, an effeminate sounding male singer who sings slow ballads). And "good-bye my lover" might be misheard as "call my mother." Like I said, it's a long shot and I somehow doubt that's the track you're looking for, but it's worth looking into. |
Martian, thanks for trying. the funny thing now is that it has been so long since I heard this song that I dont even know if that is it or not.
I dont think it is, that seems like a real slow song, that even a dj couldnt even make it more upbeat. I guess this song will have to go down as a good song that I shall never hear again. thank you so much for trying though! |
I heard the following song in a football video compilation online. I'd appreciate it if someone that is familiar with it could tell me the name and/or performer.
The MP3 of the song can be found HERE. I also would appreciate it if anyone could provide me information on the following techno beat song. I heard it in a shockwave game, and thought I had heard it before somewhere, but can't place it. That song can be found HERE. Thanks. |

I was sent it from a friend a while ago but since then i've got a new computer and I don't have the song, and neither him nor me can remember what it was!
Thanks love k_pressy xxxxxxxx |
Jennifer Lopez sampled the song Watch Out Now by the hip hop group Beatnuts for Jenny From the Block. Maybe that's the song you're thinking of?
EDIT - Here's a clip. |
Martian
unfortunately its not :( it starts of with the same bit "children grow and women producing" up to "everyones got to make a living", and then it goes into a beat with some instrumental, and then someone starts rapping. Its really annoying me now cos nobody knows what it is
thanks for trying anyway k_pressy xxxx |
I've been unable to track down any song that samples Jenny From the Block, but there have been a few remixes. You might try looking for the LOX remix and see if that's the one you want.

I saw watching International Music Feed at my mom's the other day and saw a video that I loved. The song was in Spanish and talked about all kinds of food. The video was animated in a over-the-top, shynola style (but not done by them). It featured a guy that was eating food and dancing. The song was in Spanish and talked about hamburguesa ensalada queso and mayonasa. While those words were sung, the words were spelled out in the animation. The chorus was "Hip hop hip hop!" If a catchy hip hop(?) song.
Oddly, I could've swore that the info on the screen said that it was from France. I thought the name of the the song was "hip hop," but all google and allmusic.com searches haven't yeilded the video. Thanks in advance (it's been driving me crazy and I don't have IMF to watch it again). EDIT: Quote:

Hey guys, i'm trying to find a song from The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. It's not in the OST. It plays when Sean goes with Han into the backdoor club where Twinky claims to be able to attract all the models and where Han says "careful ladies, he's underage" or something like that.
I find the song incredibley annoying, so it'll be perfect for my ringtone. (Tokyo Drift by the Terriyaki Boyz is probably going to be my back up. 2 songs from one movie! score!) |
I heard this song on the radio station a few days ago and I knew I heard this song before, I forget where and I was trying to find out the artist.
I had my cell phone in my hand at the time, so I recorded some of it using that. I need help find a song.
It's like a blues/jazz type of song , it's song by a woman. It goes something like Maybe i was right, maybe i was wrong, maybe i was hypnotized Not in that order but something like that. I know it's not alot of info your working with ,but i believe in you people. Let me add it kinda sounds like sheryl crow or Joan Osborne or something in that blues/jazz type of voice. |
hmm I'm not really sure but for some reason when I see those lyrics together, I think it's a Diana Krall song. hmmm can you give anymore insight?
|
I don't know if it's in that order, Diana Krall has a very strong blues voice, This voice isn't as strong, somewhat weaker. I hear it from work almost everyday, tell ya what i'm going listen alot hard this time and try to write down the words..... Don't give up on me yet :0 , i gotta wait until monday or tuesday though.
But let me add i think i seen a video of this song i'm looking for, it's black and white and she is working in a circus or something like that. |
Found it, it's natalie merchant Carnival

It's a slower song (from the 90's maybe) and the only lyrics I have are:"And it feels... ooo wah ooh wah ooh wah uh" 'And it feels' may not be the exact words, it could be something else. The lead singer/vocalist is male. I suspect it a solo performance, and not a band. |
i heard this song last night. It was rapish, and iswear they were going look at my cellphone look at my cellphone. I dont think that is what they are saying, anyone have any ideas?
|
Hmm.. It could be "Boy From New York City" by Manhatten Transfer.. That song was from the early 80's. The song is a remake. Ab Libs first recorded the song in the 60's. Or it could be "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" by Diana Ross.

There's a song that I keep hearing on a classic rock radio station. Usually if I like the song, I can figure the name out by googleing some of the lyrics. Unfortunately, in this case, it's completely instrumental. Seems to me that it's somewhere around 3 minutes long. It has a part about halfway through where a choir is going "ahhh". The guitar parts remind me of the beginning of the Who's "Pinball Wizard" (mostly because the mystery song keeps repeating a fast riff that kinda sound like the beginning of PW).
I hope I've given enough information. Otherwise, I'll have wait until I hear the song again before I can identify any more of it's characteristics. Hopefully, someone here can make a connection. I always listen carefully after the next fews songs play, but the DJ always falls just short of identifying it when he lists the songs he's just played. Thanks in advance! |

OK... now I need help. I'm looking for an instrumental song, starts with a single banjo picking a melody. Each time the melody repeats, another instrument joins and the key goes up. Eventually a raucous New Orleans type band is carrying the melody, until finally the end is that single banjo part again. I heard it in a waiting room today and it was driving me nuts because I searched high and low for that song 10 years ago and was frustrated in my search. Now I've reopened my quest... HELP! -Mikey |

Here's another request:
It's a psychadelic rock song from the 60's, probably with the word "Time" in the title. It's not very obscure (It was used in a Labatt's Blue commercial a few years ago) but I've never known the band name or even the title. Throughout the song, the band yells "Time!", and there's a section towards the end where the tempo slows right down leaving just the reverberating sound of a ticking clock. Time! I'm not having much luck searching because of how common the word Time is in song titles. I've looked up Artists like The Animals, Edwin Starr, and the Stones to no avail. Any suggestions? It sounds a bit like it could be by The Animals, and it's a bit pscycadelic, but I can't identify the band |

Chambers Brothers.
The Chambers Bros. Time Has Come Today "Time Has Come Today" defines the musical sub-genre known as psychedelic soul. This was its best song, its biggest hit, and a perfect statement for its time. The Chambers Bros. began in Mississippi as a four-man gospel group before relocating to San Francisco, adding a drummer, and enjoying five Top 100 hits. "Time" was released as a single and is heard in a very extended version on their album, The Time Has Come. Their fusion of varied styles hinted at what was to follow with fellow Bay Area musicians Sly & The Family Stone. (J. Chambers/W. Chambers); Produced by David Rubinson; Joseph Chambers, guitar, lead vocal; Willie Chambers, guitar, lead vocal; George Chambers, bass, vocal; Lester Chambers, vocal; Brian Keenan, drums; Rec. 1967. That's it! Awesome, thanks.
/runs off to i-tunes. Here's a Christmas themed one. It's a parody song sung to the tune of "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and it's about how Dasher is on his last legs and needs to be put down. "It's time to put Dasher down!" is a repeated lyric The one lyric that I remember goes "His fur was mangy and a patchy brown. It's time to put dasher down!" I remember it sung by just one guy with an acoustic guitar. Thanks in advance. :) |
"It's Time to Put Dasher Down" was a parody by the Toronto musical comedy duo called Brock & John (Brock Simpson & John Mitchell). They played the song live on the Humble & Fred show one year and the station recorded it and replayed it every year.
Brock & John started at the Fringe Festival in 1991 and were very popular in the mid-90's, usually playing at the Rivoli. They resurfaced on MySpace recently at http://www.myspace.com/128867475, but that song is not available on their page. It was not on their album "Unrehearsed", so you may not find a recording of it. The Humble and Fred show might have the only recording. Very funny song. |
I didn't know where to post this but this is the 'find it' section.
I want to know the name of the girl/model in the fim clip of Dreams (Deep Dish feat. Stevie Nicks). She is mesmerising - look into her eyes and you will be hooked! Thanks if you find it! |
I periodically hear a song on the radio, and they always say it's Iron Maiden, but they never disclose the name. Additionally, my friend has an mp3 of it, but the only ID3 tag that is present says "Iron Maiden" :)
The opening lyric is "You fire your musket but I'll run you through" or something very similar. It has a fast tempo (even for them) and ends a little abruptly. Also it is badass. What's it called, and what album is it on if you happen to know that too? |
Two songs from commercials
I'm looking for two songs from recent commercials I've seen on Comedy Central lately:
1) The Sarah Silverman Program's commercials. 2) The recent Hyundai Elantra commercial. The one on SSP's commercial is just a few seconds long, yet its guitar-strumming is in my head constantly. The Elantra commercial has a soft techno/futuristic beat for most/all of the add, and I'd like to have it for a project I may be doing later this year. |

the past couple of days, I've been listening to a song I downloaded off Limewire. It's called Heroin and it's recorded by Iggy Pop. It's absolutely fantastic, but the problem is that I can't find any mention anywhere on the net that Iggy ever recorded it. Lou Reed wrote a song called Heroin and this song has some of the same lyrics, but they are out of order and there are some of the lyrics of Horses by Patti Smith mixed in with it. So, I'm figuring that it's either a bootleg recording or someone has edited the mp3 tags and it's a different song or a different artist. Can anyone help?
