Trying to find Classic Rock Instrumental Song
I'm trying to find a classic rock song that is only instruments. The song that comes closest to it is Allman Brothers - Ramblin Man, in terms of the instrumentals. It's about 5-6 minutes long, any ideas? Very southerny country feeling I'd say.

I probably won't have the answer for you, but I have some good leading questions...
.. instrumentation? How many guitars? Any strings/odd percussion/etc? ...tempo? Can you approximate the BPM? (and K-Wise, I LOVE Fire on High, especially the introduction)

Are you thinking of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." ?
That's a pretty classic instrumental Allman Brothers song Edited laterGot 'em confused - I was thinking of "Jessica" - not "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." "IMOER" is a lot slower.

My guess is that you're thinking of "Jessica" by the Allmans. Let us know if we're right. Unfortunately I can't find a sample at the moment...

Master "what song is this" list?
Like several other folks in this forum, I've got a lyric in my head that's bugging the hell out of me, but I don't know the name of the song. To avoid forumjacking, can I suggest this become the place to go when you need help identifying a song.
Hell, it might even be a fun place to start a game of "name that tune"! Anyway, the song I'm hammering my head against the wall trying to figure out (then expel) is a dance number that has a repeating chorus which goes "ring-a-ling-a-ling ding dong" and (natch) deals with the phone. Heard it in Mexico by the pool every damned day and it won't leave - no matter what I do! Anyone know the song & artist? |

The only Mexican song I can think of is Las Ketchup - Asereje, also known as The Ketchup Song, but I don't think that's the song you're looking for....

Whats this song... Again!
Ok, I dont expect this one to be too hard for you wonderful people. The chorus goes:
I've got us on the highway, I've got us in the car, I've got us going faster than we've ever gone before. Or something like that. The singer (male) says the above really gently & soft. Anyone know the song??? Thanks. P.s. Ive been thinking about that "Asta" thing for a while & I think I'd like to put one at the end of a post so here goes... Asta!

OK so back on track now
ohw0w I'm glad you found the tune you were lookin for, I was gonna say "Jessica" right away too after reading your description but MikeyChalupa beat me to the punch! So now I'm tryin to remember what this original tune is, that Jennifer Lopez sampled in the intro to Jenny From the Block: Children grow and Women Produce and Some go workin Some go stealin Ev'ryone's got to make a livin... IT'S KILLIN ME!!! I gotta get that tune out of my damn head!!!!! This is a bad guess but I'm thinkin it's Marvin Gaye or Al Green, or the Isley Brothers but probably not. I think maybe Diana Ross used it at some point too. It's been sampled a few times. Can anyone help me out here??? |

This has been bugging me for weeks now. We have satellite music stations at work, but no TV output. Therefore I can't check to see what the song and artist names are.
On the Adult Alternative station, a song comes on once in awhile that is soooooooooo cool... we all love it but have no idea who it is. It's a female singer, and sounds kinda jazzy/bluesy. Here are some snippets of lyrics: If you cut a man's heart out, it will bleed (repeated, main line for song) ...don't freeze up... don't emotionally - seize up... Just don't forget, it's worth the risk (song ends with that line) not much to go on, but I HOPE someone can recognize it. thanks

Recently rotated off the KROCK (NY) playlist, Sounds like Alice in Chains, I can't remember a single line of it, it's been bugging me for months. They always seemed to play it in the middle of a 92 minute block with no title announced.
Edit: found it, it's Alice in Chains - Would? Last edited by MSD; 04-14-2004 at 11:26 PM.. |

Anyone know the song used on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Site?
Texas Chainsaw Movie It could be one of the songs from the soundtrack, but it sounds like a song that may have been around for a while. |
