grow one inch in one day, possible?
I read in a muscle & fitness magazine about an arm workout that was said to add one inch in one day. I thought, no way thats possible. I read the article and it seemed almost logical, though the workout is insane. Actually the one inch is alot of muscle swelling and water, but after a week you will still have half to a quarter of that inch.. in muscle (according to the article.) I've been planning on doing this and today I finally did it, I feel like I could pass out anytime. Oh, by the way, I measured before and after and I am 3/4" bigger flexed. If you wanna give this a shot, here it is:
:00 - barbell curl- 3x8 superset with overhead dumbell press- 3x8 :20 - alternating dumbell curl- 2x12 superset with two arm dumbell kick backs- 2x12 :40 - Crazy 6* barbell curl once superset with Crazy 6* laying french press once You do these three sets 5 times over the course of 5 hours... the :00, :20, :40 are for 1:00, 1:20, 1:40, 2:00, etc. The workout takes a long time and the actual lifting is only half of it, the other half is nutrition. The food you eat: Meal 1 - 8 oz. turkey mixed with white rice and tomato sauce, add whatever spices you wish, and a banana Meal 2 - same as meal 1 Meal 3 - 4 hard-boiled egg whites, and a banana Meal 4 - 6 oz. cottage cheese mixed with fruit of choice Meal 5 - 40 g. whey protein, and a banana You eat a meal once an hour also. It sounds like alot and... it is. Its alot of food to eat, its alot of weight to lift, but its also alot of size for one day. Afterwards, take one week off of all arm lifting. This workout should only be tried once every three months. Now if you excuse me, im going to take a nap.. im exhausted. (crazy 6's involves a 6 second positive with a 6 second negative for 6 reps... 72 seconds of continuous burn.) |

No, there is no physical way you could grow one inch of muscle in a day.
You can increase the size through swelling and water gain, but it won't be permanent. It takes roughly 10lbs of muscle (overall on your body) for each inch of muscle in your arms, so do the math. |

I didnt say that you would gain an inch of muscle in one day, I said you would grow one inch. If you re-read the third line of what I said before, I already said that it was mostly swelling and water. But according to the article, you still retain a quarter to a half of your gains after a week. I dont know whether this is true or not but I will provide that in a week. I welcome you to try it and see how possible it really is.

the One Day Arm Cure, i heard about it.
It is one rough day though and they say the 2nd day is even more painful because of the soreness.

As for the workout. I try to take Mens Health workouts with a grain of salt. Not only that I don't do tri's and Bi's in the same day.

I've been lifting for three and a half years.. or somewhere around that. My arms are 13" flexed, I know thats kinda small but take into account that I am 5'4" and 133 lbs. Yes, soccorchamp is right.. the next day is hell. and the cottage cheese meal was the only meal that tasted good, in my opinion.

I read about this one too and thought about doing it for about 3 seconds. I think that this would be a good workout to break through a plateau, but I wouldn't recommend it for beginers. I think this is a workout best left to experienced lifters.

apeman - yes I will probably do it again but not for awhile. At my size, every inch makes a huge difference.
EleqTriz - still holding strong to my half an inch. boba - Definately not something to do your first day in the gym!
