Skullcrusher is definitly one of the best weapons in the game. My evil character was using that for a looong time (the constant effect enchantments it has on it are especially nice, plus the one handed aspect). Anyway, if you don't want to get the GIANTS mod, my advice to you would be to start a new character, completely different from that one you are playing now. Try playing some of the longer quest mods (sixth house mod, illuminated order, suran underworld) as well. Some suggestions for a new character play style: A monk or priest (join the temple or imperiel cult, or both) -- don't steal, don't kill anyone unless you absolutely have to, do random acts of holiness (don't ignore anyone you see on the side of the road who asks you to escort them somewhere). Definitly use unarmored and blunt weapon (staff especially) for major skills. A vampire (make sure you use the vampire embrace mod) -- pretty obvious what to do with this one. There are FAQs on vampirism in Morrowind floating around, I'll dig a good one up for you if you're interested. When you get infected with vampirism, depending on which of the three vampire clans infected you, you'll get a +50 bonus to certain stats. A totally evil character bent on the complete domination of Morrowind. Take over all the guilds, houses, and factions, kill the tribunal gods, and Dagoth Ur. Recommended mods: illuminated order, sixth house mod. This is similar to what I'm doing right now with my custom race balrog. I'm nearing the end of the illuminated order quests, which hopefully will lead to me becomming a lich (whatever that entails). Completing the sixth house mod led to the destruction of the ghostfence, so now all of Morrowind is in a near-constant state of ash storms (with red skies to match). The only problem with playing an evil character like this is the lack of random acts of evil to do, besides killing. I'd recommend playing a holy character or a vampire over an evil one simply because there's more to do. That, and everyone has a 0 disposition toward my balrog (which sucks). Every guard attacks me on sight (which means I had to use the console to get to Mournhold the first time), and many people just plain won't talk to me. Oh well. |

According to the readme for Illuminated Order, custom races cannot become liches. As a side note, I'm currently playing an evil balrog too, it's fun looking down on everyone.

Changing the race via console is kind of a bitch. I was going to change from Dark Elf to Breton but then you then have to add all your spells again, bring your skills back, re-raise you level to the previous state, etc.
Did you make the custom race yourself in the construction set or was it a plugin? |

It was a plugin. Not a very good one, actually. Just an orc model, made taller, red, and wings added (which it turns out are from another mod). I've pretty much abandoned that character... I made it to level 30 with him in a few weeks, it just wasn't very much fun. There's only so much random evil one can do in Morrowind. I'm starting a new paladin character now in the Imperial Cult (and maybe the Temple) who will be purely do-good. It's really, really hard not to steal anything at all. With my balrog character who had no morals, I had accrued several thousand dollars before I reached level 2. Now I barely have enough money to use silt striders.

For the most part, my character has been a pretty good guy so far. He's never murdered anyone (except for a few Telvani Counselors since killing them is no crime), he has merely "defended himself" from people who can't take a few insults. I want to win the hearts of the people of Morrowind before I rip their guts out.
I'll definitely get the vampire embrace mod. I've been wanting to be a vamp, but since you can't do most quest things as a vamp I've avoided it so far. |

If you choose The Lady as the birthsign for a balrog you start off with 75 Str AND 75 endurance.
Seems to be hard advancing in the Sixth House due to lack of intelligence though. I'm level 5 and I have something like 200K gold to my name. I know where to obtain expensive items with no skills required That is to say, I robbed the redoran vaults (lots of ebony stuff) and killed a few ordinators (don't you just love the easily exploitable AI in this game?)

I already had to kill someone (speechcraft not high enough to taunt into attacking) for the limeware they stole. I didn't want to do it, but I didn't have a choice, really. I hope I can actually roleplay somewhat and not powergame like I usually do. I suppose getting all the uber items and a shitload of money early in the game because you know where to look is helpful in getting your character off the ground, but it sure does kill the ability to immerse yourself in the world. This is my first attempt at truly RPing -- my first character had no motivation other than to beat the main quest and become powerful. The balrog I played with the sixth house mod (along with other evil type mods) teetered on roleplaying at times, but it felt too much like what I had done with my first character. I'm hoping my new character can freshen the game up a bit for me. Goddamn I feel like a dork. |

I've never been into RPing too much. I guess I just powergame (although I never heard the expression until I played MW). The people on the elderscrolls.com boards (aside from being immature assholes) are so snobbish about how powergaming is so bad. It's really annoying.
Anyways, I finally became a vampire. I spent an hour cliking an Anduae clan corpse and wasn't able to catch the disease so I ended up using the console (I use the console as little as possible). I also have a couple people addicted to me taking blood from them also. Something odd happened though. Instead of getting a 20 pt boost to speed, I got a 60 pt boost to speed. Now when I wear the BOBS, I have 360 speed and it's just too fast to control over short distances. Sadly, I can't wear them anymore. At least at 160 speed I can still get around fast enough in towns and only use the BOBS when running somewhere. Also, with Greater Bonewalkers, they can damage stats permanentely and when you go to restore attributes you need to have the attribute showing in red. Before becoming a vamp, I'd just take off the enchanted item but now when all enchantments are off, I still have highlighted stats. Can you restore them back to normal or do you need the console? |

I'd like to play a vampire character eventually as well, but as you described, I hear it can be quite hard to get legitimately infected with vampirism, which is mainly what stops me. Are you using the Vampire Embrace mod? I'm not sure how to solve your problem with restoring stats, but a thread in this forum: http://www.forumplanet.com/rpgplanet...m.asp?fid=6167 might be able to help. If not, at least there's a ton of info on MW vampires for you to browse through. Also, there is supposedly a mod being released in the next few days that will add a shitload of nice features. Here's an excerpt from the readme: Quote:

OK a question:
After you get so much bounty on your head that there's a death warrant on your head... how are you supposed to get rid of your bounty? IIRC most people won't talk to you if you're an outlaw. I was just planning on killing all the guards but I don't know if my character's quite strong enough for that...

The only way I know of to get rid of a death sentence bounty is to have started the "bloodbath" quest in the Council Club in Balmora for the guy in the fort near Balmora. He wil erase any bounty, but the guards will probably still attack you on sight.

It's not avaliable for download yet, but here is a thread on another forum that will give you the basic info: http://www.forumplanet.com/rpgplanet...13&tid=1390258
Edit: The mod developer's forums (no website yet apparantly) are located here: http://gbmorrowmods.1.forumer.com/in...p?showtopic=30 for more detailed information. |

Now that I'm a vamp, between my enchantments and vamp bonuses my str is 148 and speed is 360. I was going through the ghostgate area yesterday and you can cover some serious ground jumping. You can literally jump from mountaintop to mountaintop. Of course the health drops a bit when you overshoot the mountain...

ok.. the story and graphics and gameplay are all fine, but this game is unplayable because of the terrible character system.
First; You can buy stuff and then sell them back to the same guy for double the price. Each time you do this the store gets refilled with more of that item, so after a couple of times you can buy 1000 items, and sell them all for twice what you paid. Infinite free money. Second; You can train most skills to 100. Just find the master trainer and pay some gold you got for free. Don't forget to sleep every ten points. Level 80+ and 100+ in all stats without killing a monster. This makes killing monsters totally meaningless, since it's much faster to just train everything. Very boring. You could ofcourse just not use trainers. But i rather play a game with a system that's not broken. |

I just recently installed this on my PC and would really like to get started with the construction set, but I'm apparently too retarded to figure it out. If anyone can help me with some basic tips on getting started, please pm me. Thanks
