you are right on all accounts.
Fort Ingall?
sorry, no, not far enough east.
stay safe!
Hey Ho, Let's go!
Sculpture Garden in Tornoto
(the name is on the sign) |
haha.
well it was easy sure, but showing up is worth 90% You're on sticky. |
Sorry, I have not had a lot of time due to my new position at work.
I will try and check in: http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/7941/example2.jpg |
Looks like an outdoor stadium with a lighthouse in the background? Huzzah Canada!!
That looks a bit like the olympic stadium (Montreal) in the background.
You are on the right track.
anyone?
heh. I figured it out. This is a shot of the soccer stadium for the Montreal Impact (Stad Impact).
It took some googling! |
correct.
dinosaur provincial park alberta?
no, actually, it's not in Alberta...
Is it in Toronto somewhere?
no, not Toronto.
Oooh! I know this one!
It's the dinosaur mini golf on Clifton Hill in Niagara! |
Oh my god. she returns with a vengeance! Good stuff cellophanedeity that is in fact the mini golf on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls Ontario.
The game is yours! * By the way, we are on page 99 of this thread! |
Easy??? hmmm. It looks like a beach somewhere. I'll have to ponder this one some more...
Happy Canada Day! |
is this on an ocean or lake?
Sherkston Beach ???
I googled sherkston beach, and didn't see any evidence of rusted out junk.... So I will go with a location local to Cellophanedeity... Leslie Street Spit?
It's a lake, but not Sherkeston.
The clue is in the object itself. :) |
is it wreckage from a ship? Or from shore facilities?
Quote:
The beach seems to be a lake beach, as I can't discern any tidal marks. So I would hazard a guess that it is on the Great Lakes somewhere.
Is it on or near the Leslie Street Spit? |
Pelee Island
Lucifer - I see you as an expert in things Maritime. So perhaps this is Pelee Island, but I will kick this thread into life again (this Nonsense category certainly was the deathknell for it wasn't it?) with this submission:
http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...hereisthis.jpg |
Hint: it's in a city....
It's in a city and it appears to be late spring, not that that matters...
Isn't that the Flatiron building in Toronto?
no it is not.... The flatiron in Toronto looks like this:
http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...ngooderham.jpg |
I thought the Flatiron building was in NYC and the building above is in Toronto and is actually the Gooderham and Worts building.
Which by the way, pre-dates the flatiron building in NYC. |
It think you may be right, although when you say "the" Flatiron Building you could be refereing to the iconic structure in NYC. I thought that the term flatiron, generically referred to all wedge shaped buildings such as these.
Any idea on the location of post 3933? |

signed, the resurrectionist. |
I was just about to say that.....
then you would be right, in Gastown.
your game Lucifer! |
On a ship in the Great Lakes. :)
Okay I suck....that's Georges Island lighthouse, with the Dartmouth refinery in the background. I should have know that. |
Boy, you sure should have! Nice recovery after an epic fail!
boy , talk about epic.... Great Lakes? But look at me, I couldn't even come up with anything.
so Seamaiden is going to come up with something? |
Niagara region?
Nope...anyone wanna guess? Hint...it's close to home, my home.
Okay, i'll guess a blueberry farm near Halifax... for making wine? the big one that I can find is Rainbow Farms.
Nice try, but no. I know it's hard to tell from that picture, but those are trees about twelve feet tall. Blueberries grow low to the ground (except for high bush berries), but you're right in that we have lots of them in Nova Scotia.
lol... you're right, there is no way to tell the scale. the blossoms look very blueberry like. But they also look like apple blossoms. is it an apple orchard?
Right you are...5 days before the Apple Blossom Festival in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.
Wolfe Island.
Yep. Game on Lucifer.
Actually this windfarm sprung up on Wolfe Island between visits to Kingston for me. One year, nothing, a couple of years later... over 80 turbines... |
Quote:
there was an article in the Groan & Wail about this windfarm a few days ago; apparently the naturalists are concerned cause of the high numbers of bats and migratory birds getting whacked by the blades!
new photo soon! |
excellent on the pending new picture. Nearing page 100 of this thread... should let Fresnelly know that his baby is maturing.
I was in Kingston a few weeks ago and managed to make it to Ft Henry for its opening day. Visited some restuarants that I didn't get to eat at while a poor student (Chez Piggy and Pan Chancho) and saw that Murphy's Seafood is gone! |
I may have posted this somewhere in the previous 99 pages, but I haven't been keeping track. This should be a piece of cake for you Kingston boys:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ichoo/boat.jpg |
I'll bite, is it Kingston Mills?
The Kingston boys are struggling, but I've been there...so...Half Moon Bay, near Gananogue, where you can go to church without leaving your boat.
Here's a new one for you. Hope it's not too small. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...g?t=1282693090 |
I'm not a western guy, but my geological education tells me that these are hoodoos, and my computer skills triangulates these particular hoodoos to be approx 6 km east of Drumheller Alberta. Am I close? For a kingston boy? am I?
So close you're on fire! The Badlands are the lesser known treasure of Alberta's geography. The Rockies are awesome, but the terrain around Drumheller is the closest we northerner's have to a dessert...complete with scorpions, rattlesnakes and hoodoos.
What's next Leto? |
Here's what's next:
http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...o/Where/bl.jpg Where in the land of Canada is this? |
I see that I have Stumped you guys big time.... I'll drop a hint here: badlands of a sort...
:) |
In Alberta?
nope. too far west Fill23ca. I'll give you a hint - Ontario.
You Got It, Game on fill23ca!
Sorry to take so long to check back - i keep forgetting that this thread doesn't show up on the new posts list. Your turn to post a pic. |
In this place, snow and ice remain all year naturally and it's not in the north.
got a pic of it?
I'll hazard Scenic Caves near Collingwood. |
Damn it.:grumpy: Your turn. Gotta pick something harder.
whoa. that was a shot in the dark. I found some shots of this Niagara Escarpment cave structure:
http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...enic-caves.jpg http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...ventures-1.jpg http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...nicCaves18.jpg Okay, off to find a picture ---------- Post added at 08:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:50 AM ---------- Okay, got one. Where in Canada am I standing: http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/u...Where/dt-1.jpg |
