Sorry to make everyone wait, but I will have to post the new pic tomorrow. Gotta run for now........

Sorry for the delay, here it is. Might be easy, but maybe not....oh.....I dunno.

Daval 12-12-2007 08:12 AM

Hmm...that looks a little like Smiths Falls.....

owlbill 12-12-2007 08:23 AM

It's not Smiths Falls, but it is in Ontario. (almost a gimme really)

Daval 12-12-2007 08:33 AM

Ottawa, Rideau Canal?

owlbill 12-12-2007 08:35 AM

Maybeeeeee (read YES)............can you be more specific?

Daval 12-12-2007 08:39 AM

Pretoria Bridge

owlbill 12-12-2007 08:39 AM

Bingo

owlbill 12-12-2007 09:15 AM

Ok, this might be another easy one........

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg110/owlbill/3.jpg

Daval 12-12-2007 10:45 AM

holland marsh area in Ontario?

owlbill 12-12-2007 10:47 AM

Nope. Not any marsh. Also, farther east in Canada than the Holland Marsh area.

Sticky 12-12-2007 11:16 AM

Upper Canada Village?

owlbill 12-12-2007 11:25 AM

I guess that is good enough. Don't need to be too specific.

Yes, it is Upper Canada Village, the Tow Scow "ride".

Sticky 12-12-2007 12:42 PM

Leto 12-12-2007 08:32 PM

boy oh boy this game is just blazing along now!

I'm sure I've seen this pic on this thread before... hmmm...

Fly 12-13-2007 05:00 AM

me too.........but i don't have the time to go through 60 pages......

Daval 12-13-2007 06:00 AM

it looks familar to me as well....

Sticky 12-13-2007 06:49 AM

It may have been there before.
So was Upper Canada Village, it is hard to go through all the pages and see what was posted. Myabe that is a good holiday project.

owlbill 12-13-2007 09:16 AM

I went through about the first 15 pages this AM. Many of the photos are no longer showing. Does that make them fair game again? LOL

Daval 12-13-2007 11:01 AM

There is no rule against repeats, you just have the risk of people remembering and guessing very quickly....

Fly 12-13-2007 11:27 AM

have at her Bill

Sticky 12-13-2007 11:31 AM

We are still on this one:

Yes, we are. I have gone thru the trouble of checking all previous posts, and those that have photos remaining, do not match this photo. So.......no help there. LOL

Let's try to narrow the search a bit then shall we?

Is it east or west of Winnipeg?

Leto 12-13-2007 01:54 PM

I have a feeling that it is in Alberta. Is it near Drumheller?

Sticky 12-13-2007 08:50 PM

I am afraid answering that question might narrow it down a little too much.
Is that enough of a clue? Let's see.

owlbill 12-14-2007 06:05 AM

Ah,..........Royal Canadian Mint Winnipeg.

Sticky 12-14-2007 07:02 AM

owlbill, you are correct.
Your turn.

owlbill 12-14-2007 07:10 AM

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg110/owlbill/4.jpg

Daval 12-15-2007 06:22 PM

It reminds me of an aircraft control tower.

blahblah454 12-15-2007 07:27 PM

I slept in that this summer!!! I have it! Let me just find the name ofit, I am sure I have it on a receipt somewhere!!

Kenora!! On Lake Of The Woods. I think that was the best western lakeside inn on the S.E. side of town. If anyone goes there DO NOT eat in the dinner on the top floor, bad food for a high price.

Leto 12-16-2007 05:31 AM

wow.. really? I didn't know that Kenora had a high rise! good catch..

owlbill 12-16-2007 03:53 PM

It is the Best Western Lakeside in Kenora Ontario. Your turn to stump us all.....

If no one gets this I can give lots of hints.

Daval 12-16-2007 07:23 PM

No idea where that is, but wow, thats visually stunning

Bossnass 12-16-2007 10:13 PM

It looks a little like Waterton. South Rockiesish at least.

Sticky 12-17-2007 06:05 AM

Columbia Valley?

blahblah454 12-17-2007 02:07 PM

Its in Alberta...

Notice that its two separate lakes...

Sticky 12-17-2007 02:59 PM

Valley of Five Lakes, Near Jasper?

blahblah454 12-17-2007 07:39 PM

Nope.

There are 2 lakes. Upper ____ and Lower ____

Bossnass 12-17-2007 07:54 PM

I've been to the Kananaskis Lakes. I totally dismissed that idea.

But it fits your clues.

Yeah, and if I look at the wiki page, its almost the same picture, but from the other side. I still can't see the vertical step in the picture posted, even though I know its there.

blahblah454 12-18-2007 12:08 AM

Thats them alright. I figured if anyone was there they would recognize them. The one on the left side has less vertical height.

Picture taken from about half way up Mt. Indefatigable

Your turn Bossnass

Bossnass 12-18-2007 10:47 AM

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...nass/river.jpg

Ok, not the most obvious photo, but another great example of how awesome Canada looks.

blahblah454 12-18-2007 04:49 PM

Alberta, BC, or Ontario?

Bossnass 12-18-2007 04:53 PM

Yes. Yes it is.

I'm 95% sure that this is in Alberta. It isn't impossible that its in BC.

blahblah454 12-18-2007 05:22 PM

Along the elbow river?

Bossnass 12-19-2007 10:03 AM

Nope.

Leto 12-19-2007 12:37 PM

Kicking Horse River?

Bossnass 12-19-2007 02:43 PM

The Kicking Horse is in BC. I've now confirmed that this is 100% Albertan.

blahblah454 12-19-2007 05:45 PM

is it in kananaskis?

Bossnass 12-19-2007 07:19 PM

Not in Kananaskis, to my knowledge. I had to double check though.

Bossnass 12-20-2007 06:54 PM

Well I'm going to be off on a weeklong, computer free holiday starting tomorrow around noon.

Spoiler: This is near the headwaters of the Oldman River in southwest Alberta in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Good for rafting and flyfishing and looking around and saying 'holy shit this is nice'

Leto 12-21-2007 08:42 PM

ok, so I haven't looked at the spoiler, but have no idea of the location. Anybody care to post a new pic, or give a guess?

Daval 12-25-2007 11:17 AM

someone post a pic. I declare it open season.

Leto 12-26-2007 08:59 PM

ok, i'll go look for one

OK:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...o_2000/wif.jpg

owlbill 12-28-2007 12:30 PM

Wolf Islander III ferry in Kingston Ontario?

Leto 12-29-2007 05:24 AM

Game on owlbill, good guess!

owlbill 12-29-2007 06:38 AM

Ok, this one might take a few clues to guess............

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg110/owlbill/5.jpg

Daval 12-29-2007 12:53 PM

Random warehouse on a random mud field?

Leto 12-29-2007 01:22 PM

ok, right off I see gravelly parking lot as well as drainage cut into the ground. Also, lots of tire tracks and rugged vehicles, radio antennae. This looks like a communications / depot in a poor drainage area (possibley a permafrost zone?).

Also, there are no trees in view on the horizon. Is this in the high arctic? It looks too warm for it to be Resolute, Pang or Alert, yet too remote to be Ft McMurray...

owlbill 12-29-2007 01:28 PM

Ok, it is in the arctic, but at this point, I will not confirm nor negate any specific locations mentioned. Specifics would be good though :-) (ok, guess that is a hint)

Leto 01-02-2008 05:24 AM

is it in Nunavut?

owlbill 01-02-2008 09:57 AM

Yes, it is in Nunavut.

Leto 01-03-2008 05:32 AM

is this the

"Canadian Forces Station Alert"

Alert, Nunavut
Canada

owlbill 01-03-2008 10:19 AM

No, you are too far north.

blahblah454 01-03-2008 10:46 AM

is it in Cambridge Bay?

owlbill 01-04-2008 08:00 AM

nope, this "destination" is farther north, and farther east.

Leto 01-05-2008 04:21 AM

Resolute.

owlbill 01-05-2008 09:46 AM

Technically yes.....but what is the structure?

blahblah454 01-05-2008 12:54 PM

That has got to be the airport! I think I see a flat section of ground in the back, could it be the runway?

owlbill 01-05-2008 01:59 PM

Yes, it is YRB (Resolute Airport in Nunavut). Sorry if that one was too obscure guys.

Leto 01-05-2008 03:05 PM

so... who's got it? ( i have a really intriguing pic to post...)

blahblah454 01-06-2008 10:54 PM

Here goes. I have no idea who these people are. If I am not aloud to show random people please let me know and I will change the pic.

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/3...piesaithu9.jpg

Daval 01-07-2008 07:45 AM

The building reminds me of Toronto High Schools I've seen in the past..... Am I on the right track?

Leto 01-07-2008 08:19 AM

ya, like Lawrence Park Collegiate.

- I think it's alright to show random people, as long as they are over 18 years old...

blahblah454 01-07-2008 11:17 AM

No where even close to Toronto....

But yes you are on the right track

Bossnass 01-07-2008 11:30 AM

It looks like the Alberta crest above the doorway, but it doesn't look like the Legisltature.

blahblah454 01-07-2008 11:50 AM

Bossnass is narrowing it down

Leto 01-07-2008 09:02 PM

is it a high school in Lethbridge?

Leto 01-07-2008 09:03 PM

is it a high school in Lethbridge?

blahblah454 01-07-2008 09:32 PM

nope, more north

Leto 01-09-2008 04:41 AM

ok, is it in Calgary somewhere? (did you go there by any chance?)

blahblah454 01-09-2008 11:28 AM

yes and yes (currently going there)

Bossnass 01-09-2008 11:41 AM

Heritage Hall at Sait. Looks nothing like Nait, apparently.

Ah:

The University of Alberta was also housed in Heritage Hall at that time as an extension campus to offer university courses to Calgarians. This arrangement continued until the establishment of the University of Calgary in 1960.

If I have it right, Leto, please post your intriguing pic. I'm going to be hung up at work for a while and really don't have the time to be online right now.

blahblah454 01-09-2008 11:52 AM

Yup heritage hall is correct. Many of my classes are in that building

Leto 01-09-2008 01:17 PM

excellent pic blah... Thanks Bossnass, I'll post it right away.

Where can you find this?:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/IMG_0173.jpg

blahblah454 01-09-2008 02:10 PM

East coast?

Probably an old light tower (I cant think of the word... is it called a light tower?), could be in Halifax.

owlbill 01-09-2008 05:33 PM

the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove

Bossnass 01-09-2008 05:36 PM

You're right bill, I'm 99% certain. I have a very similar photo, but with my wife smiling and sitting beside the sign in the stone.

blahblah454 01-09-2008 11:32 PM

lighthouse! thats the word I was looking for. Thanks

Leto 01-10-2008 10:44 AM

yes, lighthouse is an excellent word for it! And Game On Owlbill this is exactly at Peggy's Cove, warning tourists of getting too close to the waves.

owlbill 01-10-2008 11:31 AM

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg110/owlbill/6.jpg

blahblah454 01-10-2008 05:32 PM

Either Ontario or BC?

Daval 01-11-2008 05:18 AM

Those yellow things in the front look like the wooden clogs you see in Holland

owlbill 01-11-2008 05:29 AM

It is in Ontario

Leto 01-13-2008 12:44 PM

storybook gardens?

owlbill 01-13-2008 04:00 PM

nope, further north.

Leto 01-15-2008 06:22 AM

Santa's Village?

owlbill 01-16-2008 10:54 AM

no, that is too far north. Also, this photo was taken farther west than Santa's Village and Storybook Gardens.

The key item in the photo is the fountain in the background. Yes, I said fountain.
