BadNick 07-27-2009 05:47 AM

uncle phil 07-27-2009 12:03 PM

then sunk their continent...

BadNick 07-27-2009 05:15 PM

i have yet to be incontinent

Jetée 07-27-2009 05:19 PM

We need a picture here... too many ellipses and plays-on-words make my head spin...

Well, then, this is my latest "fav'd" picture on flickr... and wouldn't you know it, the locale is the peaceful serenity and fun of the beach, what with crashing waves and chickies. For an even better portrayal, you should see the pic I saved before this one. ;)
(too bad i can't embed it here)

BadNick 07-27-2009 05:20 PM

very nice...and it reminds me that I've been there

Jetée 07-27-2009 05:23 PM

let me figure out where it was taken, or maybe i should just post the page-link?

it's called "sunrise at aazhimala"... but I still can't figure out the continent (darn, I tied it back to "that" word)

BadNick 07-27-2009 06:54 PM

the shape of the boats make me think it's in somewhere in Polynesia, as well as the large group hauling in the fishing nets.

I found this about aazhimala:
The location of Aazhimala couldn’t be more perfect, situated 24 km’s from Trivandrum International Airport & about 8 km’s south of the main tourist resort of Kovalam.

Aazhimala is in the small town of chowara, the area of the resort is just over an acre of reclining hillside sloping down with landscape gardens & beautiful terraces to a depth of around 50 metres. At the end you come to a golden beach nestled by rock formations on both sides to provide exclusivity to it.

Jetée 07-27-2009 07:05 PM

I found this on Aazhimala:

Aazhimala Ayurveda Beach Resort, Kovalam Hotels : Reviews of Aazhimala Ayurveda Beach Resort - Yahoo! Travel

have we answered yet what continent it is on, or I am not looking hard enough?

BadNick 07-27-2009 07:28 PM

so it's in India! ...do they call that the Asian subcontinent?

Jetée 07-27-2009 07:33 PM

Amazing! This week is gravitating around India for me.

See?

surely she must be my Parvati

Jetée 07-27-2009 07:38 PM

I thought I could link the higher resolution, but it was broken/not found?

Celina Jaitley, I think.

See what google/wiki tells you about her.

uncle phil 07-28-2009 03:07 AM

that's the one...

thanks, jet...

Jetée 07-28-2009 03:14 AM

It was the first result of my eight-second search... glad to be of service...

and now I need to watch the entire movie now, and that other Nicholson film where he is a hippie aiding some runaway deaf girl, I think. It's amazing how many times I never sat through an entire film before 1983. Astronomical, maybe.

BadNick 07-28-2009 05:39 AM

btw, it's Jim Beam not Jack.

Fortunately, I have the soundtrack to Easy Rider in my car's multidisk player. Along with the soundtracks to The Harder They Come, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? ...that makes 3

uncle phil 07-29-2009 02:47 AM

BadNick 07-29-2009 03:40 AM

Ourcrazymodern? 08-02-2009 05:35 AM

I thought it was more like 1800 miles.

uncle phil 08-03-2009 02:26 AM

500 miles, 500 miles, 500 miles, 500 miles...

Ourcrazymodern? 08-03-2009 09:08 AM

You must be taking some detours.

uncle phil 08-03-2009 12:18 PM

just the road less travelled, stuart...

Ourcrazymodern? 08-03-2009 01:44 PM

Stew blows my skirts away almost as well as broth can.

BadNick 08-03-2009 04:59 PM

I just went ~500 miles each way...home to Toronto and back. The QEW was unbelievably bad...worst road I've been on in at least 20 years. I'm inspired by Ocm?'s post and now may have to shop for kilts and wear them to my next staff meeting.
