I think it has more to do with the fact that she is going to have to raise a kid on a desert island where people are getting killed by "black smoke" monsters and where "Others" take children... etc.

It isn't exactly the kind of place people think of when they think about raising their kids.

This is all over the internet but...

Taken from Yahoo news
And another one bites the dust?

Try as the Lost writers might to keep a lid on series-shifting spoilers, when one of its stars is tapped to join another TV show, it would seem that that person's fate on the island is pretty much sealed.

Spoiler:
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cynthia Watros, who plays Hurley's love interest, Libby, has been cast in a CBS comedy pilot, calling into severe question her chances of making it out of Lost's second season alive.

Watros has signed on to star opposite Love Monkey's Tom Cavanagh in the sitcom My Ex-Life, centering on a divorced couple turned best buds who are sharing custody of their children. The show is aiming for a slot on CBS' fall schedule, which will be announced next month.

In what appears to be attempt to minimize revealing Lost plot points, the Reporter notes that Watros has committed to be a guest star and not a regular on the show. However, with her character being one of the two divorced parents in My Ex-Life, it seems that the guest star line is just a smoke screen.

Per usual, Lost producers aren't talking. They've already killed one regular this season--Shannon (Maggie Grace) was mistakenly gunned down by Ana-Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez)--but with tension mounting between the so-called Lostaways and the Others, it would be surprising if there wasn't at least one more grave to be dug on the island.

Watros is one of three full-time cast members to have joined Lost this season, along with Rodriguez and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko). The three were among the "Tailies," those who were in the rear of the plane and survived on the other side of the island.

Fans, for one, have long been speculating on who would be the next Tailie to go, with early rumor-mongering centering on Rodriguez as the marked woman. Rodriguez and Watros were both arrested on DUI charges last year. Watros copped a plea and lost her license, but Rodriguez, who faces potentially more serious legal trouble because she's on probation in another case, decided to fight the rap and is set to go to trial next week. Tabloid reports have suggested that Rodriguez is a disruptive force on the set, and her character has never endeared herself to Lost's die-hard fans after killing Shannon.

But producers sought to quell predictions of Ana-Lucia's demise--or at least create a misdirection--saying that her personal life would not affect her tenure on the show.

Further suggesting that Watros may be, well, lost forever, is the industry precedent of offing stars who land pilot gigs on other networks.

The most notable would be Drea de Matteo, who, despite proclamations to the contrary, met her demise on The Sopranos shortly after signing on to Joey. More recently, 24's Dennis Haysbert (President Palmer) announced last year he had joined the CBS drama The Unit. By the end of this season's first episode, President Palmer was dead.

Lost ends its second season with a special two-hour finale May 24. In the meantime, pray for Libby.

well - no - there was no new information. I will say this though: the things that they chose to cover or not cover are revealing. What I mean is that if someone is a casual Lost watcher or is new to the show, they choose clips that will get them up to speed. SO things like Libby telling Anna that she was a Clinical Psycologyst were mixed in with every possible example of any potential tension between Jack and Locke.

Not much on Sayid, Sawyer and almost nothing on Kate. Not much on Charlie, Echo, Claire, Rose, Bernard either. Lots of info on the others.

You figure that the direction this thing goes is toward confrentation with the others and how that plays out with Jack and Locke. At least that is my best guess.

If you don't know not to read this on a Wednesday night (if you haven't seen the show) by now, then you deserve spoilers :P

Unfortunately, Ana only got one shot. A stomach shot. I'm scared Jack may fix it somehow.. I'd really like to see her character killed off. I fear it's Libby that's going to be dead.. poor libby.

As for Michael, yeah.. that was crazy. Did he shoot himself to make it look like Henry had done it somehow? He must have, if Hurley was saying (in previews for next week) "I'm glad you're alright, man.".

I still don't like Ana Lucia

i think michael is trying to provoke a war with the others. ana lucia was a necessary sacrifice and libby had seen too much... then mike wounds himself and kills henry or lets him go to make it look as if henry had broken out.

i think my theory makes sense... except everyone seemed pretty willing to go along with michael already... loche and jack were on their way to get the guns from sawyer and michael knew that. why would he kill ana and libby if he was already getting what he wanted? maybe he was just getting insurance to keep the rest from backing out?

i dont think he was brainwashed by the others... i can't see what motive they would have, aside from maybe provoking an attack (although they've already said they want to be left alone).

the more i think about it, the less sense this really makes.

Yeah, I'm pretty much sure that's about the dumbest thing I've seen since some of the plot twists in 24 this season. Good way to get rid of two cast members who were making trouble for the production off the set. Terrible way to advance the story line. It simply doesn't make sense.

The episode was a shock, I'll give them that. But then I started thinking about something else. Essentially nothing has happened this season. They added a few characters, then killed them off (except Mr Ecko or whatever), they still haven't figured out the timer in the hatch, Walt is still gone, the prisoner that was captured has been freed with no valuable information divulged, so essentially we are at the same point where we were at the end of last season, except Michael is evil now.

When Anna lucile got shot in the chest (she is definitely dead btw) I was like "oh shit" but when the blonde chick came in and got capped multiple times I just started laughing as it was completely over the top, plus her character was somewhat ... boring.

For the record, the number on the commercial to call was 1-877-hansorg (1-877-4267674). Earlier it seemed to be unconnected, but now... well, I've a little extra adrenaline in my system. I'll see if I can post links to the recordings I made in the morning.

Another possible explanation is that the others forced/coerced Michael to do what he did in order to save Walt. The others are holding Walt captive, and told him to kill Anna Lucia, and maybe save Henry, then they would let Walt go?

and anyone else thinking that Michelle Rodriguez and whats-her-name went out and partied a little to hard once they finished filming their last scenes of the show? might help explain the drunk driving...

I'm with you on this theory, up to the point of killing AL. I think he was told, "Go get Henry back and we'll send your boy." I don't think he was brainwashed, I mean look at how scared he was. I don't think he would have said sorry and I don't think he would have been so freaked about Libby.

If it had been me, I'd have shot them both and then been so freaked out I'd have forgotten the combination. Hee!

I think AL is dead and Libby is wounded. Hurley just wasn't upset enough in the previews. Plus, it give's Michael something to worry about. "What if she wakes up and tells them?"

I couldn't shake the shock from that scene, even this morning. I guessed he'd shoot AL and free Henry, but didn't see him shooting Libby and then himself. At first, I thought he aimed the gun at his head and I was REALLY freaked.

I tried calling 5 or 6 times and so far have not made it thru. However I think that perhaps it is just not available from Canada.

Incidentaly, along with the TV ad there are some changes to their website: Spoiler: http://thehansofoundation.org/

If you poke around the website it eventually asks you for a password which I assume available from calling the number Tex listed above. So if anyone gets that pass word please post it here with a spoiler tag, otherwise I might never get thru.

Now, as for all the action last night...

I hope, Ana is dead. I never bought her character from the begining. But this was a clumsy way to get rid of her... and the sex with Sawyer?
I hope Libby survived, as I want to know more about her in the looney bin. However rumour has it that Spoiler: The actress has already started filming a new show with Tom Cavanaugh and therefore I'd presume her ticket is punched.

Libby is dead because the actor who plays Libby has landed a role on another series.

I don't think you can have either of them survive the shooting. If they did, they could immediately finger Michael as the shooter (the only way out of that is to keep them in a coma or something like that, but given the lack of medical supplies, not likely to stay alive in a coma).

I agree that Michael was likely told, "Free Henry and you can have your boy back." Michael is a desperate man.

The episode was chock full of other stuff as well. The conversation between Locke and Henry was interesting. "You are one of the good ones." and, "I was on my way to get you."

This combined with Henry's conversation with Analucia, that "he" thought she could be brought around, that she could change, despite what some thought, suggests that what we were thinking about the survivors were being tested is somehow true. They were chosen specifically to be there because of what they had done. That they could be fixed or cured.

I tells ya, if this turns out to be some sort of re-education experiment where "bad people" with redeeming values are put into some sort of Matrix-like machine to make them better... I am going to be really pissed.

I am pretty sure we are going to see both Libby and Analucia back in future episodes, but only in flashbacks.

Hmmmmm.... I don't think this is some Matrix place, but one theory I have is that on the far side of the island, there is a billionaire and he flooded the plane with hallucination gas and then had "his" pilots land the plane on an air strip on the far side. Then he probably had killed all the passengers that tried to escape and then the billionaire had the pilots crash the plane on purpose, so the alive ones would "remember" the crash. The island might have magnetic healing powers, but it also has mental instability powers as heavy magnets can affect your brain. All islands can be seen from satelites, so all islands with fresh water have been purchased or are part of Oceania countries. So a billionaire owning the island would explain why the survivors were not rescued by conventional means like in normal situations. The pilots were owned by the bored billionaire, who affected by the magnetic healing island is going insane slowly. The foggy monster might be micro tiny black holes created by the powerful magnetic fields causing the noises and destruction. When I saw the movie Donnie Darko, I thought of this possiblity. So anyway, the airline probably called the billionaire and asked, did a plane crash nearby. He says no, and that is the end of the searching as they are searching elsewhere. And the island is not on usual flight routes. But I think the show would be more realistic if they showed satelites moving overhead at night or 30,000 plane water trails during the day. So it is possible that it used to be a government site that was disbanded because of the micro black holes killing people. When they left, they left in a hurry and left one part of the government film and people make up whatever story they like to explain all the weird outdated computer and numbers stuff. I think the billionaire purposefully set up the numbers stuff as a joke on Hurley. The billionaire maybe has a hatred for lottery millionaires ? LOL I sometimes wonder if Locke is the mad billionaire, since he is alluded to have a super rich dad. He kills his dad or makes it look like an accident and gets rich. That would explain why he finds the hatch/bunker on a huge dense jungle island. And he also happens to find "a guitar" as well. With his billions he cures himself and he no longer needs the wheel chair. But for fun he rides in the slow descent crash as he is bored with life and partially insane. The billionaire would also be able to bring polar bears to the island as well. The billionaire could also use mind altering drugs to make people forget the first safe landing if they awoke from the knockout gas in the plane. Or perhaps the ones that dies, did awake and the billionaire thought they would spoil the fun. Perhaps Locke was already going insane before he became super rich ? His talking with people on the phone and playing god with figurine rpgs. And his outbursts of "You can't tell me what I can and can't do !!!!"

But this is just my prediction. Ohhhh you know what would really be cool ? If the writers of the show, actually read all these messages on every message board they could find and, on purpose, wrote the show in directions away from what people were guessing ! That would be pretty clever.

Ah well, I'm just a fan of the show. *smile*

Anyone think the actors, Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros, had to be written out of the show because of their criminal charges? I'm not sure about Watros, but Rodriguez was just recently charged again for driving under the influence or something similar. Maybe they had to leave?

Last night's episode surprised me quite a bit. I liked it though. But you're totally right about being pretty much back to where they started. I think the show needs a lot more progress; I don't like that they're dragging everything out. A little bit of that is good, but I think they're going too far.

Anyone feel that this show is going too far in exploiting its fans? I know this might seem like nothing new since movies do this all the time when selling books and other commercial items. But by playing this game of hiding clues on websites and such, I think they've made some fans feel as though they must buy stuff like this in order to solve the mystery. What do you guys think?

In Wednesday night's episode of the ABC hit show about plane crash survivors on a remote island, the con man Sawyer, played by Josh Holloway, is seen reading an advance copy of fellow passenger Gary Troup's "Bad Twin." Sawyer, an odd bookworm, describes it as a whodunit he's anxious to finish.

Troup has been missing since the plane went down, but a copy of his book just happened to land a while back in the offices of Hyperion Books, which, like ABC, is owned by the Walt Disney Company. "Bad Twin," billed as Troup's "final novel before disappearing Oceanic Flight 815," was published this week.

"We got this manuscript from this guy and we couldn't reach him. He apparently got on this plane in Australia and has been lost at sea," says Hyperion president Bob Miller, trying his best to play it straight.

Eko and Locke found another hatch and we found out pushing the numbers was a big waste of time. I would seriously be upset if I heard it was all one big psychological test. To determine if people would actually press the buttons. And they are being watched from that hatch!

The episodes are getting better each week and maybe next week or the season finale the battle between the others and the survivors should happen.

I would start training an army and then create some strategies.

One of my friends discovered something interesting about the book that's been of some controversy. Spoiler: The name of the author, Gary Troup, is an anagram of "purgatory." After the page loads Spoiler: click on the word "Obey" in the middle of the screen. This will get the boxes rotating and after they stop, click on the brighter one in the top left. You have to click it numerous times, after each proper number of clicks the boxes will rotate. The number of times you need to click the boxes corresponds to our favourite numbers, so you will be clicking the last one 42 times before anything happens.

After all that you get a password that I have yet to figure out how to use.

Not sure what I'm missing here, but I did just as you instructed and it didn't work for me... Spoiler: I entered the password in the text input bubble and nothing happened. I even returned to the password site and grabbed a screenshot of the password so I was sure to spell it correctly...I did. What am I missing? thanks for the help!

Cartmen, that happened to me last night. It's probably just the site being overloaded or something. Go back and try it again. Spoiler: Enter it as one word, heirapparent, in the text box IN the bio, not the one at the bottom right of the screen, and hit enter. An animation should pop up pretty immediately and then it should be self explanatory.
