Jin's English has improved a little too much I'd say, at least from one episode to the next. At this rate he'll be fluent by the end of the season.

Solid episode. Anybody notice anything...hinky? I kept my eyes open, searching the background and such, but didn't spot anything. Of course, I'm not the most observant of men.
Random thoughts: That teddy bear dangling when the 'others' walked by... Well, it really creeped me out. Don't know why, but man, was it spooky. Where the hell is Desmond?

Alvar Hanso:
I ran it through an anagram generator - one of the results was: Noah Salvar Noah = Do I really have to explain that one? Salvar = 'to save' in Spanish according to Babelfish Anyone also notice the Dharma synbol in the 'cave' that the 3 castaways were taken to? I guess this is the 'other' site referred to in the induction film played by Locke and Jack. |

One other point.
Latin for 'Swan' is cygnus. Cynus is also known as the north star and Cygnus x1 is a suspected black hole within our own galaxy. http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~dolan/con...ns/Cygnus.html Anyone notice anything familiar with this? "Cycnus, Poseidon's son, had been exposed at birth, lain out on the seashore to die. However, a swan took pity and flew down to care for the newborn. Cycnus became the king of Colonae, a city north of Troy, but he wasn't a particularly good king. He set his own children adrift on the sea when his new wife fell in love with one of his sons (Tenes). He then killed his wife when he found she had lied to him. Cycnus defended Troy when Achilles' onslaught. However in their individual struggle, Achilles proved too strong, as he choked the life out of Cycnus. Poseidon grieved for his son and turned him into a swan." |

Ha. It'll probably be one of the new bunch.
Or Bernard or Jo-anne. Notice that they didn't say what really happened with all of the other 'tailies'. It's just a studio gotcha to allow any number of new people to walk in out of the jungle. Last edited by WillyPete; 10-31-2005 at 03:41 AM.. |

finally caught up on the Tivo...
Must say that I was quite surprised to see Bernard and have him not be the guy I thought he was going to be...

Ooh Shannon's too cute to kill. Honestly I'm sorta hoping it's Michael. If I have to hear him yell "Walt!" one more time...

I like Sawyer, but he's sure getting the lions share of shitbox lines. For that I'd have him killed. Kate is hot. She won't die. Jin has amazingly picked up a lot of English in the course of one episode. For that he can die. Shannon serves no purpose on the show, so she can die, unless she's going to do it with Sayid. Jack is too whiney. For that he can die. That about sums it up.

I agree, Michael is annoying now I understand wanting his son back, but running thru the dangerious jungle screaming "Walt!" is uber-stupid... I guess they could kill off Michelle Rodriguez, but I figured they would keep her around for Sawyer...

I hope Sawyer kicks the shit out of Michelle Rodriguez's character.

while it may not be a good episode compared to others the wife gets annoyed more than I do...just annoying that TWC can reboot my box and turn it off at will... they deny it each and everytime but I catch it happening since the Tivo is recording most of the day.

Anyone else think it's hilarious that Michelle Rodriguez shot Shannon? Not really the Shannon dying part, but there she was, bitching at Echo because they lost a person going through the jungle. Then she goes and shoots Shannon. I don't know, I just think that's funny. Especially the look on her face when she realized that she shot a real person.

I love it when characters die doing something stupid. Shannon was hot and all, but outside of that, the least interesting character on the show.

So, who was the castaway killed? Which one counted? Was it the chick that disappeared on the way up the ravine or was it Shannon? If the 'tailie' counts as the castaway killed...well, it seems like an easy way to build some drama by shooting Shannon, but not have to kill off a member of the core cast.

Some good questions raised in this thread lately... What did happen to the missing girl who was with Sawyer and the others? Is Shannon dead? Is Michelle Rodriguez really that bad of an actor???
Did anyone else notice Shannon walk past Jack in the hospital after her step father died?

The whole episode, it seems to me, was designed to make the viewer sympathetic to her plight. Poor girl, lost her dad, her step-mother is a bitch, had to turn down a prestigious internship... all in a slip-shod manner to explain why she turned into the psycho-tramp that we were introduced to in the flashbacks from the first season. The whole thing did nothing for me. All that said, I just can't imagine that they'll kill her off. Not with Boone already gone. Quote:

I too noticed Jack slip by Shannon in that scene. Kinda makes me want to sing "It's a small world". I also amused myself by imagining what Matthew Fox's day was like that day of shooting. "Ok Matt, you just have walk by the camera kinda hurriedly, not saying a thing, then you're done for the week. You're not in the rest of the episode."
It's probably just me, but I've found that the most likeable characters are Jin, Sayid, and now Echo. There's just something about them that makes me more interested in their story lines.

Remember the episode where Jack tried to save that girl(who Jack ended up marrying) only to have her miraculously healed at the end? They brought in two people on stretchers in that episode, the other was a guy and he died. I'm betting that Shannon's dad was the other guy, and that he and Jack's wife crashed into each other. In the newest episode, Jack was probably on his way out to go run up and down the stadium where he met Desmond.

After 3 attempts it says SYSTEM LOCKED I can't get any further than this on either site and bugging me! I've tried everything I can think of; the numbers, names, hanso stuff, dharma stuff, AAARRRGGH!!!
