Hey Everybody, This looks like fun. I'm not much of a blogger (yet) but I ran across this looking for Google results for some cartoon character (redheads). I've read through pages of old threads and there are some really messed up people here. Oddly I was compelled to register and become part of this outpost of fuck ups and it felt so right. I'm 40 some odd years old on paper but more often than not can't believe I'm past my mid 20's (except when I try to stand up or get out of bed). I do all kinds of stuff to make extra $$, mostly remodel homes, build decks, building repair, drink beer, steal cars........ no wait, that's my hobbies list. About a third of my life is spent hanging out at work waiting for shit to hit the fan. I'm a fire fighter in St. Louis and we work 24 hr shifts, so I've got 2 families. It's just one of them is all mean nasty people, and harsh scary conditions with danger all around and the other one is work! I fish and hunt and camp and stuff like that when I can but always want to go again as soon as possible. Damn JOB keeps bringing me back... Work.... It's the curse of the spending class. So I guess we'll get to know each other more over time .... or not. We'll see. How do I mark this site so I can find my way back here? Kind of a dumb ass question unless one of you are going to answer me RIGHT NOW!!! I need a beer.......

dlish - All I can say is that Shire folks are like little Hobbits, they have no idea that there is a big wide world out there that has so much to offer. Plus they're a bunch of stuck up nobs, I mean snobs :p. Apparently only 15% of people that grow up in the Shire actually move out and I am very proud to say that I am one of the minority :thumbsup:. As for it being God's country, that is a lie perpetuated by a group of ignoramus' that have never experienced the rest of the world, in order to keep themselves happily comfortable in their naivety.

I now live out west and I'm pretty sure the majority of people I used to know think that we're some sort of bogan westies...... just goes to show their complete ignorance and inability to experience life outside of the confines of the Shire.

By the way, I do love the Shire simply because it is beautiful, would never ever move back though. Can't handle having to constantly keep up with the neighbours or the stupid attitudes that are generally shown towards anyone that is different from the "norm" (what that is I'm still not sure).
