I think there is a serious question here.

If you have a specific taste for some sexual practice that isnt exactly mainstream, how exactly do you find someone who will be into it? (In real life, not on some pornography inspired fake dating site, or chat room)

This really isn't my area of expertise, but I think that this just falls under the "generally kinky" catagory. You just need to find someone that you connect with first, IMO. Since we are on the subject of how to ask awkward questions, I have one for those of you who are homosexual males. My personal sample of homosexual male friends aren't close enough to me to ask such an intimate question.

So, I've heard that in homosexual male relationships, one person is traditionally the pitcher and the other is the catcher. Let's go with Top and Bottom. The gay guys I knew all had a preference when it came down to a good ol' fashioned yogurt throwing contests. They were either top or bottom in various degrees. You might want to go to some kind of rock club, as a lot of people who like heavy metal are also into alternative lifestyles in general in my opinion.

Wear some kind of "Strap on Sally" merchandised shirt. You can always play it off like a joke if someone is saying "WTF is this" to you, and maybe it will attract a girl who might be up for it? You can even get shirts printed up fairly cheap from completely online stores if you send them a jpg, so you could get a shirt with a comic book style portrayal of a leather clad domintrix brandishing a strap on? If you're in a hurry you could go the direct route via personal classifieds, visiting clubs known for having sexually adventurous patrons, prostitutes, etc.

Another route would be to develop a relationship the normal way. You might have to take it slowly as you learn about her, you wouldn't want to scare her away by jumping the gun.
