My name is dlish and im an addict....

I've got a friend who swears that Pizza Hut is better refrigerated. Seriously, he'll buy it fresh and stick it right in the fridge.

The memory that serves this topic most is that whenever my family ordered a pizza, what ever remained after the meal was left in the stove until the morning. For breakfast, I would be treated to the savory deliciousness of remembering what was a good night is now to be the start of a good morning. Yet refrigeration of the food detracts from the goodness of it slightly. For me, best bet is to to leave in the box, wait some 12 hours, prepare a plate and enjoy.
Cold pizza is money. Re-heated--poo poo.

Pizza Hut pizza in particular tastes best cold, but I also like it hot. And I LOVE cold chicken and turkey. Even better with some cold worcestshire sauce to dip it in.

I like cold pizza. What I'm not crazy about his cold dried out pizza. My lovely wife, perfect in every way but this, puts leftover pizza in the fridge right in its cardboard box. What comes out the next day for lunch is dessicated, bullet-proof cold pizza, not fit to feed the dog.
Pizza needs to be refrigerated in ziplock or plastic wrap. That accomplished, I'm all about it cold. Also YES on cold chicken--cold KFC is great. |

Cold pizza and KFC is delicious. I'd have to agree about Pizza Hut having some of the best cold pizza I've tasted. It's especially good in the morning after a night of drinking.

I don't usually eat cold pizza - the texture is a little off and it tends to bother my teeth. I usually warm it up at least slightly.

Why? Because it's a well-rounded breakfast pastry that will keep you energized until lunch.
It's good cold. It's good room temp. Or it's good hot. Enjoy, you sick addict!

Cold pizza is good, but for me it's because of laziness. The less work I put into food the better it tastes!
There's nothing better in this whole world than a cold turkey sandwich the day after thanksgiving. I love it! P.S. I'm very glad she-lish caught on.

Hmm... maybe it's just the way my family was, but I always reheated my pizza in the microwave the next morning. So I've always eaten my pizza warm. Thus, the thought of cold pizza at first doesn't sound that appetizing to me.
However, recently I had some cold leftover pizza 'cause I was staying in a hotel that had a fridge but no microwave. It was BBQ chicken, and it was pretty decent. I suppose I'll have to try this a bit more. Do certain cold pizzas taste better based on what toppings they have? i.e. does cold pepperoni taste better than cold cheese pizza? I'm curious. |

Pepperoni pizza is best consumed piping hot. cold pepperoni pizza is not the same aseating pepperoni slices from a resealable package for what ever reason. It has no moisture anymore(perhaps due to being cooked) and after about ~2 hours after the meal, pepperoni pizza is no longer appetizing (unless baked again). Best served cold: chicken pizza is the tops. also worth noting: olive and onion, ham Okay or subpar: Italian sausage, green pepper, beef. If you have any leftover marinara sauce, that helps as well.

I like my pizza hot, but I love it cold for breakfast too! It's really yummy
Also, I know how to make a weird pizza that is like a quiche only it's pizza...and it tastes yummy hot or cold - good party food because it can be cut into chunky squares. Now I'm hungry!

Yes, cold pizza is, in fact, far more delicious. Cold chicken i okay, but cold FRIED chicken is amazing. I don't know what it is, but I like a lot of strange things like that. Grilled cheese? Hot, but needs to be pressed nearly flat. Makes it WAY better. Yum!
Some of us are just more comfortable with our taste buds, I think.

You don't even have to wait for it to get "cold" you can buy it that way!!!
I suspect it's not only a Philadelphia thing...but around here you can buy "real Italian tomato pie" which is sitting in the store in a box at room temp, never hot, and it's meant to be eaten at room temp, it's also supposed to have a thicker bready crust...authentic tomato pie doensn't even have cheese on it except for a light sprinking of course, sharp Parmesan. One of my fav lunch spots around here...the inimitable Tony's, sells a "tomato pie" that is also very good but it's served hot like pizza so this is not like the traditional pie I'm talking about. There are a few bakeries around here that have made fantastic tomato pies for many years, these pies are distributed fresh daily to grocery stores and markets, so you can find them in quite a lot of places around this town. |

I don't mind it cold at all, but for me the best is leaving it in the oven overnight then microwaving it in the morning just enough that the oil gets liquid again. Pizza Hut is nice when I want something disgustingly fattening, but I usually prefer the local places.

But yes, dlish, cold pizza for breakfast is one of my favorite things to eat. That used to be my Saturday morning breakfast growing up (because Friday was pizza night). Unfortunately my SO is a pizza hog so I try and claim a few slices of the pizza to be wrapped up and put away in the fridge before he eats the entire pie. And totally agree on the cold chicken, especially KFC. It just doesn't taste the same reheated.

Add me to the no-love-for-cold-pizza brigade. Although pizza reheated in the microwave is worse. Proper reheating is done in the oven or in a pan on the stove.

You guys are all terribly mean and insensitive...
I have a deep abiding love of pizza (both cold and hot). Sadly, I have not been able to find a good pizza in my adopted country. They just can't seem to make good pizza here. Perhaps it's the humidity. Perhaps it's the ingredients. All I know is I am desperate. Friday nights is pizza night for us. We make our own pizza every Friday. Through experimentation we have been getting closer to a good pizza. Our biggest problem is we need a pizza stone. I just can't get a crisp crust... but I digress. Cold pizza is like morning mana from heaven. You wake up with a breakfast hunger, stick your head in the fridge and... viola! Breakfast is served. Speaking of which, last night's pizza is mellowing in the fridge right now. Breakfast is served!

I prefer my pizza cold over hot. I'd MUCH rather have cold pizza for breakfast than hot pizza for dinner. In fact...I'm not really a big fan of hot pizza. I also like cold chicken and whenever we have leftover macaroni and cheese or suddenly salad, I eat that cold instead of heating it up. I really don't like the taste of reheated food and usually reserve reheating for mashed potatoes or leftovers from a restaurant (minus pizza, of course).
