Letting others know about ....
I was just reading the thread about camel toe and i was thinking about whether you normally let people know about these things, or is it too embarrasing?
The list includes almost anything, including: fly undone (un)obvious hole in pants/clothes mouse out of house (if a guy is wearing short, shorts and no undies, and is hanging out ) camel toe some other clothing undone clothing tucked oddly skirt tucked in back of undies toilet paper on shoe .... or anything else which may be sort of awkward to bring up. For 2 reasons, you don't want someone else to think that you're looking there, or have seen anything, but you're also doing them a service from no more embarrasment. It's a bit of a weigh up between the 2. Do you normally tell though? what about between known ones (friends/family) or strangers? policy change at all? myself, i will tell people i know for sure. Although strangers and others i don't know too well, i think i'd probably keep quiet? Although i guess it does depend quite a bit on a situation? SO what do you normally do, for different situations? any good stories? or other embarrasing things that have happened? |

If i see one of my mates will one of the above (well not a camel toe that would be impossible), I don't say anything cause it's funny to have people staring at them and have them not knowing what it is. I've never noticed a female friend having a camel toe (but maybe its cause im too busy staring at their rack), but if I did I wouldn't say anything cause they'd prolly kick my ass for looking down there.

I always get strange looks when i take my insulin shot. They are so confused because of the obvious preformed ideas about needles...
If a guy has his fly down, I love to tell him. It is so much fun to see their faces with that sudden realization... heheheh... Seriously why feel hesitant about saying something, I think most people while possibly embarrassed would want to know.. Having said that I just have to tell of the one time i didnt. I was on my way from the restroom at a reststop as a guy passed me with the paper ring you place one toilet seat sticking 3/4 out of his sweat pants. I really wanted to tell him but, I could not keep a straight face long enough to say any thing.. He climbed in the car and sped off not realizing... A moment in time one just does not forget.

If I saw someone with their fly down, I would tell them, but not in front of a bunch of people. Now if, say, a girls blouse was undone in the front...like a button...I wouldn't tell her. Just because she might be doing that on purpose [and I like to look!]...
If a girl had a camel toe, or a guy was hanging out...I dunno what I'd do. My sister always tells me I have a camel toe, and I think Nwlinkvxd told me once too...:sigh: Oh well... |

I think I would just blurt out what was wrong no matter what. My wife would probably hit me for doing so, but I don't like to keep stuff inside so it gets awkward.
Dude... your fly is down. Don't let the snake out of the cage. Hey, nice camel toe. Something like that |

No one seems to tell me when I have embarresing things going on. Once at work I walked around all day with a fabric softner sheet sticking out of my sleeve where I could not see it. No one said a thing. So I don't see the need to tell others.
There was a lady who came into my work not long ago and her hair net was stuck on the back of her shirt. She was an older lady and I just laughed and pointed it out to a coworker. Well my coworker told the lady and the lady said "Oh I was wondering where that was, I thought I had lost it". To me it would have been funnier just imagining her walking around with that on her back all day. |

I've had a girl tell me that the 'barn door was open' one time. I can tend to be kind of crass in these situations, needless to say she was the one who walked away embarrassed.

I usually start with "Hey, we're good friends, right?" This usually gets a very worried/wary look. I then tell them directly whatever is awry.
My favorite, however, was at a fancy dress cocktail party. I was talking to a good friend with large breasts in a tight dress. She had some cream cheese on the undercurve of her breast. "You have some cream cheese on you." "Where?" she says, looking down and not seeing it. "Um... outside of your line of vision." She laughed, my girlfriend laughed and hit me, and her boyfriend cleaned it up discreetly.

If I know the person, I have no qualms about telling them something is wrong. I try hard to make it humorous, as it's a bit easier to deal with.
If I don't know the person, I'll simply make a very (very) loud comment to my girlfriend about their problem. I thank God that I've got a girlfriend now who isn't horrified by my doing so. |

Life is funny. I can't go around cleaning up random hilarity. Sure it sounds insensitve, but shit happens to everyone, including each of us, and sometimes you have to let it go until a laugh breaks out. I've been embarrassed many times, and there are few things in life worth trading the ability to laugh at oneself.
If it's a buddy of mine, i'll point it out to make something of it. Good friends find stuff like this funny, in my opinion. |
