Chubby women - yea or nay?
I'm currently chatting on MSN with some women who, shall we say, have a few extra pounds. I'm not knocking overweight women at all, and I don't all at mean to be offensive here. But it seems over the past few years I've started to like chubby (but not obese) women.
Do many men like chubby women? Or does society say that slim is beautiful (and is it just the media who push that)? |

Wow, what a question.
I have been the chubby girl, and let me tell you, I had no problem getting guys. At all. Most good men seem to realize there is more to a woman than her weight. However, there will always be some men out there who are hopelessly shallow and can't look past that few extra pounds, which is unfortunate. One of the things I truly love about my SO is that he loves me no matter what size I am; chubby or skinny, he doesn't care. And yes, I think the media push the idea of slim being beautiful, and the association of slimness with being healthy and fit, which isn't necessarily true: Well - Weight as Main Measure of Health May Be Misguided - NYTimes.com In the process, they have brainwashed some young men into believing that a woman must look just so, when in fact real women come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, not all of them slender.

To clarify, the question is "yea or nay?" not "chubby or skinny?"
So my answer is yea!

I reckon that as long as a girl takes care of herself, whatever her natural body shape happens to be is okay. Some girls just happen to be curvier than others. Me, I kind of like the curves.
I've dated slender girls, so-called 'chubby' girls, tall girls, short girls. If I've learned anything from it all, it's that there are more important things than a woman's dress size. Nobody would describe Magpie as petite. She has a couple of extra pounds on her. She also happens to be intelligent, funny, mature and artistic. We get along better than I would've thought possible. Which of these things do you think is more important to me? Which would be more important to you? I don't really care about the guys who are so superficial that they require a model perfect woman regardless of her personality. As far as I'm concerned, it means less competition for the ladies who are actually worth having. EDIT - I missed dlish's post, but it's interesting to me. I'm actually the opposite; being able to see a girl's ribcage is a bit of a turn-off for me. I don't think it's particularly healthy to be that thin.

Distribution is important. I prefer curvy or womanly girls. Visible rib cage is disgusting. Chubby and obese, eh, too unhealthy.

Black girls
White girls Skinny girls Fat girls Tall girls Small girls I'm callin' all girls! Both mandy and I can be classified as chubby. I most definitely prefer full-figured women with curves rather than ones with visible ribcages. I love that there's always some flesh to grab onto when I touch her. AMEN, sistah!! I'm all about the curves, and my husband is as well... and hey, as long as I'm able to run for 60 mins non-stop (like I did for Saturday's 10k), I don't really care what my body looks like. That's what matters to me, not my "chubby" tummy or thighs.

Certainly, YEA! I dated a woman who could be classified as "chubby," and she was very beautiful. I find women of many shapes and sizes to be attractive, and it mostly has to do with their attitude. There is a limit on both how skinny or how big a woman is for me to be attractive, however-rib cages are a total turnoff, but if I cannot physically carry a woman (and I'm a large man), I probably wouldn't find her that attractive.

I love the look of fat under a woman's skin. It looks soft, curvaceous, touchable, luxurious. It looks right.

It all depends. Is she a bitch or not?
I married a "woman with curves". I love all of them. Am I attreacted to some skinny women? Absolutely. But others annoy ther fuck out of me. But if the question is if we're fetishizing chubby, that's not my bag. But then again neither is skinny.

Funny, I was just thinking about this yesterday, when I heard the term, "muffin top" for the first time.
Some extra weight is definitely one of those traits that will turn my head.

How chubby are we talking about? Because chubby to some is fat to me.
I generally prefer girls on the skinnier side of chubby, but who are still soft to the touch.

I prefer the girls I date to be a bit chubby, but don't seek them out. I get disgusted when I see obese people, but LOVE a chubby girl who is self confident. Same goes for skinny, if i can see your ribs, yuck! I just think I'll break you in two if we had sex!
My current SO has a bit of extra meat on her and I think she looks fantastic. She exercises regularly and hangs in with my epic bike rides with ease most people to see her would think she sits on her couch and eats, not so. I like my women to look like women, tits and ass baby. The more the better! btw is it wrong that I think that a man who says he only dates skinny chicks but is overweight himself is a asshole, but i am skinny/normal size (well 6ft 185lbs) and I like my women bigger? |

There are too many variables I think to nail down each scenario but I was thinking that a guy who wants his girlfriend to be model thin yet he looks like fat bastard is a double standard. This does not take into effect that maybe she likes fat dudes...etc Just in general when people hold others to a set of standards they don't follow themselves. Again everyone can live there life as they see fit, just it irks me a bit. |

I don't date women so I don't have much of an opinion. I have dated men of all different body shapes/types, though, and I must say that I prefer athletic, possibly with a little extra weight on top.

And that's all there is to it, really. We're all wired a little differently as to our tastes and preferences.
I have generally gone for more petite women - both Mrs. Highthief Mark I and Mark II are in the 120 pound range, although both are proportioned quite differently, with Mark I bustier and Mark II sportier. I have a muscular build - some women like it, some don't. So long as there are enough who appreciate that, it's fine.

Problem is BMI is not the only way to look at size. To get and more accurate and healthy idea you should take into account weight, waist measurment, and BMI. A person could have a high BMI and just have more muscle or a low BMI but have very little muscle tone.
According to BMI a "normal range" is 18.5-24.9. To fall just barely inside of this range I would have to weight 168lbs. For my height and bone structure I don't think this will ever happen. I'm aiming for 170-175 but in that range I would still be considered overweight. At least I no longer fall into the "obese" category!

I thought we had discuss previously that BMI was an outdated way to tell if your healthy, overweight...etc? Or was that another measurement? I forget either way.
I agree with most of the comments, it is all personal preference when it comes to the opposite sex...or same sex if that is your bag. I've liked girls who are big, small, tall and short, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. |

Everyone's definition of fat and chubby are different. What one man sees as fat, another sees as voluptuous.
How about: Picture 1, girl A, B or C ![]() This one's a plus-sized model. Would most consider her fat? (Picture 2) ![]() I can't believe this one is considered plus-sized ... (Picture 3) ![]() That's just insane.

I like pretty much all girls.
Some of the girls I've been craziest for have been tall and slim and built like ballerinas. But most of the girls I've gone for are...shall we say, built like lusty tavern wenches. I am old-fashioned: I like a girl who looks like she could serve me a jug of mead and a haunch of venison, beat off the rowdies with a broadsword, and then go upstairs with me for a wrestling match in the hay. These types of girls, whom I might call "voluptuous," some might call being built on the more generous side of the spectrum. Girls who are a real armful, who look like they need a real hero to pleasure them...yes indeedy, they get my fire lit pretty damn fast! Personally, I wouldn't use the word "chubby" to describe any girl I've been with. But I know others might, and have.

I'd hit any of those chicks (based on looks of course).
Picture one, the middle (B) and right (C) ones are hott. Model (A) needs a sammich....kidding of course. But yes she does nothing for me. -----Added 26/8/2008 at 02 : 13 : 00----- Quote:
