Since the Political compass gives historical names as reference points, I have provided a URL where one can match up the IQ scores with famous people:

IQ: 136
Economic Left/Right: -0.12 Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.69 Btw if people are still interested: I could do a multi-variate regression analysis, check for IQ/compass corelations and see how statistically significant they are with the statistical software package SPSS. |

All brought together, for their love of boobies.

Here are the results of the analysis:
-Means IQ: mean = 140.65, standard deviation = 12.94 (with N = 57) Economic Left/Right: mean = -2.31, standard deviation = 3.88 (with N = 59) Libertarian/Authoritarian: mean = -3.15, standard deviation = 3.12 (with N = 59) -Correlations (2 tailed pearson correlation) IQ vs. Economic Left/Right = 0.022, statistical significanse: p = 0.873 -> absolutely no correlation, any correlation that exist is purely due to chance IQ vs Libertarian/Authoritarian = - 0.129, statistical significanse: p = 0.339 -> very small negative correlation, however the correlation that exist is purely due to chance Economic Left/Right vs Libertarian/Authoritarian = 0.598, statistical significance: p < 0.01 -> strong correlation, fact that this correlation exist is very unlikely to be due to chance Simply put: - IQ has nothing whatsoever to do with ones political affiliation (at least not with the people who have participated on this thread). - There's a strong relationship between ones political views regarding economics and Liberty/Authority - the more to the right one is on economical issues, the more one believes in tight authority structures. -> oh well whatever, never mind |

The wording of some questions presuppose the outcome and make it impossible for some to answer. For example, on page 6 the question "It's fine for society to be open about sex, but these days it's going too far" can be broken into two statements. If you disagree with the first part, you might answer "strongly disagree". That answer will be interpreted as the exact opposite of what the tester intended, though. There were a number of these type of questions. |
