Yeah I would expect that a little more in NY but Oklahoma kinda odd. Dealer tags on it as well.

LoganSnake 06-22-2005 05:02 AM

Seen the new Bentley coupe, a couple of full sized Bentleys, Maybach (the 60-something) model, couple of Maserati coupes, three Modenas, one Diablo, two Vipers, and a Gallardo. All in the last two months.

zizdog69 06-22-2005 01:21 PM

Just recently saw a BMW Alpina V8 Roadster and a few months ago, a Bentley Continental GT. What’s really weird about these sightings is that they are in a shitty part of town. There is no reason these $100,000+ cars should be in this area!

Cynthetiq 06-26-2005 04:29 PM

Aston Martin DB7 Vanquish on the LIE... sweet ride...

I just saw a new Dodge Hemi on 34th Street, nice looking ride.

Saw this today at the local CVS....

theguyondacouch 07-05-2005 03:22 PM

At the local car show, I saw a 2003-1953 corvette. Now, I may be incorrect, but I believe it is a 2004 vette chassis with a fiberglass 1953 style body on it. According to the guy, so far only 40 or so have been built. His was black with red interior. Not quite my style, but it sure was rare.here's some more info i found

Wow, I actually kind of like that. I still don't want one, but it looks pretty good!

thadon 07-07-2005 02:44 PM

rarest I have seen are a Ferrari F40 at a club day at Road Atlanta and a bunch of other old Ferraris 250gt, 400i and 308's

I did see a BMW M1 and a real 1960's GT-40 at Road Atlanta one time back on the early 90's

muckluck 07-08-2005 02:55 PM

I saw and sat in a Lotus Super 7. I don't know how rare they are but I don't see them too often. Also saw some Lotus Elise's some old Daihmler's, MG's, and some Rolls Royce's. Also some Ferraries and Lambos but those get kinda old fast.

DEI37 07-08-2005 05:36 PM

Not that the first two of these cars are anything particularly special, but they are uncommon. About a week ago, I saw one of those Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais W41's, with the ultra hi-po Quad 4. Nice car. Yesterday, I saw a Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with the Quad 4 and a manual trans. Not many of those running around any more.

Today's viewing was special. Running up the highway, got passed by a Corvette ZR-1. Not sure what year, but it was cool to see. Not many of them made, so it was a treat to see a real one.

Ford GT

Among a sea of Corvettes I found her last night. Same base color but the racing stripes were darker than the body color, black maybe?

Better yet, I found out I get to drive a Mustang GT convertible in a parade with a beauty pageant winner sitting in back tomorrow. I need to go buy some lottery tickets before this lucky streak ends.

Lockjaw 08-06-2005 08:29 AM

Driving down Forrest lane in Dallas Thursday morning had a Ford GT passed me going the other way. Nearly swerved off the road out of shock. Had I not been going to work I would have spun a u-turn and chased it.

dpezzo 08-06-2005 10:54 PM

Saw my first Bentley a few weeks ago, which is awesome living in Ohio... Occasional Ferrari's (very nice new model, I am not sure what it is) in town lately. Once I saw a Countach and a Diablo. Would kill to see the Maybach. I need a car that have a lazy-boy for a backseat...

Cicero 08-07-2005 05:48 PM

Since I don't live on either the west or east coast, nor do I live or frequent some of the upper class neighborhoods, when I do see an exotic car, it is a big deal. Today I saw a red F-355 Spider. I was walking along side Lake road in Bay Village, Ohio (an upper class neighborhood west of Cleveland) and there she was driving past. As the car went by I blurted out, "OH SH*T!" The car then makes a right at the light ahead and I duck into the parking lot to get a closer look. For a 10 year old Ferrari, that car still looks sharp. IMO I think the quality and style is an exponentially better than the Testarossa it replaced.

Me and Tspikes51 saw a sweetass Silver NSX a couple days ago, Driving really slow though. Saw another NSX and an SRT-10 Viper on the interstate in NC.

vautrain 08-25-2005 12:25 PM

About a year ago, I was passed on the interstate by what I believe was an original Ford GT40. Not a recent Ford GT. It might have been a very good replica, but I had the distinct impression it was real.

bookerV 08-26-2005 05:39 AM

So far this summer I have seen 2 NSX's (One silver, one red), a Lambo Gallardo, a Lambo Murciellago, 2 Ferrari 355's, and 4 vipers. Been a good year for cool cars so far.

Totally agree. I saw one driving around town (Calgary Alberta) the other day, and it was in perfect condition, and I just had to give the guy a thumbs up.

There's a testament to bad planning though. Not the cars - they're great, but the comapnay. Chalk one up for cocaine abuse!

Peace,

Pierre

bodypainter 08-27-2005 03:40 PM

So far I have only seen one other NSX just driving around since I got mine. I've seen several at pre-arranged meets, but just that single yellow one heading east on Bee Ridge road in Sarasota a couple weeks ago.

My wife and I are fucking funny thought when we're out driving. We'll see a car on the other side of the interstate, our heads will swivel in unison to check it out, and with one disappointed voice say 'Corvette'. We're always hoping, looking for others.

I know the NSX isn't the rarest of the rare - almost 9,000 were imported, but damn I almost never saw them before and now I never see them at all.

BadNick 08-29-2005 07:34 AM

My family just got back from a vacation and on the last leg we were in Toronto. On the second day, this past Thursday, I walked out of the Harbour Castle Hotel and see parked right in one of the entrance way spots was what looked like a real, original '66 Mustang GT 350R. When I got home I searched around a little online and found that only 3 were made. Now that is pretty damn rare. I have a few pictures of it, but at 7.1 megapixel they're too large to post and I haven't edited them down yet. I asked a couple of the door men about it and they said it was real and owned by a "celebrity" but they didn't want to say who. It was parked right next to a new, silver Porsche Turbo but who cares about that common P.O.S. ;)

Kinda funny, later in the day I came out to get our car and hand my parking ticket to the door guy and I say "it's the Mustang over there" and he starts to walk over to it as if he was going to get it for me!!! I spilled the beans and told him I was joking so I don't know if I could have driven it or not.

BadNick 08-30-2005 07:20 AM

I don't know where I got the idea it was a GT 350R, maybe wishful thinking; after looking at my pics last night it's a GT 350H. Very nice but not quite as rare.

Yeah, I had my doubts about it being an original R model. The H models were built for Hertz, I'm sure you're familiar with the story. Pretty neat. Big difference in terms of interior creature comforts between the R and the H. The R is recognizable on the exterior mainly by its scooped out front valance, below where the bumper would be. A lot of basic Mustangs have been converted to "R" look and/or specs, real R models are less common than genuine Shelby Cobras.

BadNick 09-01-2005 06:00 PM

...not to beat a dead pony, but it did sort of have a scooped out front valance even though it is an H not an R

Talk about rare, I saw this today parked on the street in Ardmore Suburban Square ...after looking it over pretty close, I am pretty damn sure it is a real Auburn Supercharged Roadster

Rippley 09-02-2005 01:02 AM

I was a rare car sighting 48 hours ago, as I drove from Munich to Denmark in a BMW M6. See my post for pics.: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=94053

BadNick 09-02-2005 06:40 AM

I'll leave my original post below unedited but after snapping out of my daze, I realized that M6's are in fact pretty rare, the ones I see all around the neighborhood are the 600 series, 635's or whatever number they are now adays. I heartily apologize to Rippley for dissing his rarety.

Dear Mr. Rare Rippley ;)

In that case I should list my own stuff in this rarity list. I see several M6's every day, some convertibles. One of my daily drivers is more rare than most M6's will ever be ...my good old "MkIV" 1995 Supra Turbo w/6speed trans and targa sport roof, less than 3750 imported into the U.S. from 1993 to the last ones imported in 1998; total of all types of turbo Supras from 1993 to 1998 was under 7000. Now that's rare ;)

Lebell 09-02-2005 06:51 AM

I saw one of these.

http://www.emmitsburgdispatch.com/20...nermobile2.jpg

I laughed for a full minute with joy :)

I am officially un-dissed. Also, I'm a little bit in shock still, from driving it, so disses just ricochet right off me :D - oh, and the ones rolling arounf your 'hood are 630's, 630 Ci's and 645's, I would guess...

Oh, and after driving the M all day, I got to drive a late 60'd mustang with a 351 engine in it. NO idea what model, so feel free to help me out on that one. It's a coupé, with a 351 engine, and it has a hoodscoop.

Saw one of these new babys on the road the other day. I personally like the old headlight looks on the porsches, but I fell in love with the porsches when the "new" headlights came.

Yeah, I guess what I meant to say is, the bumper wouldn't even be there on an R model. Also, I think that paint job (color scheme) is unique to the H model. The H is certainly *not* a common car by any stretch of the imagination though, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if that one is indeed original. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

I saw one of these when I was at the Edge102 Studios in downtown Toronto. I just gasped and pointed and walked basically up to it and stared. Then the driver sped away :P

theguyondacouch 09-22-2005 09:52 AM

I saw an ev1 on tuesday. I thought gm had gotten them all back, and I thought they were all on the west coast, but apparently I was wrong. Very rarely do I do a double take while driving, but I did then!

Man, that yellow Chrysler is a land yacht. Cool car.
Also like the silver Benz below it.
