Ahh...the autobahn somewhere between Dresden and Nurnberg. MB S-Class, 153mph, downhill, into a corner, way too fast...Spent much time cruising ~110 - 125.

110 in a '95 stock camaro v6, 60 mph speed limit. stupid thing just wouldn't go any faster.

also..not trying to brag. it was stupid. and i won't do it again: 95 mph in a 45 mph zone. got a ticket for exhibition of speed and almost ended up in jail. took the cop a while to catch up to me from where he initially spotted me.

I used to catch shit cause my bike is an old 1977 suzuki 550.

so one day I'm on the highway and decided I was going to see just how fast I could getthis old machine.

I proudly broke the ton (100mph... don't ask me why it's called a ton).

But my bike was shaking so badly and sounded like it was in pain that once I hit the mark I let up.

I don't make it a practice but i just wanted to say that my old wreck did it successfully.

I'd be too afraid that an animal would run out in front of me, especially on a bike. At those speeds, an animal would probably end up going through the front AND rear windshields.

138 in a 55, lost my licence for 2 months on that one (he was nice, only wrote me up for 80 in a 55)

75 in a 25 (probably the dumbest one, driveways all down the street, could have killed somebody)

175 in a two seater Winston Cup car, I was a passenger loving every second of it.

I hit 120 MPH on the Garden State Parkway in NJ. I have a '92 BMW 325i and you really can't feel a difference from 70 to 100+. The ride is so stiff and it feels perfect at the high speeds. It was only at 3,900 RPMs at 120 and I would have loved to take it a lot further but I got scared because there are those "U-Turn" areas every so often on the parkway where the cops hide so I figured I'd wait to find a better road.

I did 225km/h (about 135mph) in a 100km/h zone in Sydney in my mx6 turbo. It was really fun and scary but really stupid! I went past a convoy of trucks at this speed and the likelihood of one of them pulling out in front of you to overtake the truck in front of them doing 1km/h slower is very high.

I avoid speeding 20+ MPH in a speed zone up to 35-45mph, way too much risk of an accident in a populated area. If you're gonna be dumb enough to drive fast you need to keep it in a safe-ER area.

I'm one of them. I'm not sure about in the USA, but in NZ if you are caught doing 50kph (30mph)or more over the limit you immediately lose your license and get your car impounded and get fined (I think so, there's definately big impound fees at the least). You get a criminal record, most likely will lose your insurance, and have to appear in court. I'm too afraid of the consequences.

I did just over 125 (200 Km/hr) once in a 75 (120Km/hr) zone...

I think that was the most I've ever gone over the limit...
I was pushing the car to it's limits. At the end I decided that the rated maximum speed (203 Km/hr) was about right... I then slowed to a leisurely 85...
At that point you realize just subjective 'speed' is.

Normally my limit is reached at 15mph above the official speedlimit.

Same here in the Netherlands (not sure about insurance though), but your license is in serious danger of being revoked for a couple of years...
That does not mean however that I don't have the urge to push past that
I only did it a handful of times though. There are not many situations around here that allow for it.

In the US, it depends on which state you're in. For California, you get in serious trouble (possible lost license and/or jail time) for going over 100 mph. In Pennsylvania, you can lose your license for going 25 mph over. Some states just have fines no matter how fast you go.

Pulled over, should have just stayed in it but was 17 and got scared. Charged with speeding over 3 times legal limit, wreckless driving with excessive speed tacked to it., Lost license til 21, car impounded, my dad paid to have car returned (it was his in the first place), 10 days in jail, 200 hours of community service and $5120.00 in fines and 350 in court costs.

I would do it again in a minute 16 years later and I can remember the feeling in vivid detail.

100mph in my Geo Tracker, downhill in a 65mph zone.

It is a really steep hill on I-70 west on the west side of Dayton, OH.

My speedometer only goes to 85 but I had a friend pacing me in the other lane so he could tell me how fast I got to. That little four banger was screaming, I had it floored from the top of the hill but didn't hit 100 until I was almost at the bottom (over half a mile). I was already doing 80 at the top of the hill

The best was in my uncles '93 Mustang 5.0 (heavily modded for street drag, low 11 qtr mile, huge torque!), doing about 105mph in a 55mph.
