First shot at applying a double rhyme pattern to poetry. Each line rhymes with every other line. Rushed, but true and genuine
You took my affection as a shock but all the while I had thought.. It was obvious Somehow the connection was off, ignored, tossed away or blocked off Perhaps not wanting us To be more than friends I obssessed and then.. finally our talks stopped Crash, times pass for wanting love I've moved on as I know you have and you've had time to heal your soft spot Face facts, we're no longer talking much Perhaps never again. Thank you Asta!!

Very well done K-Wise.....excellent work
Blood loss from this fractured beat the black pupil is all your eyes have for me I can feel the flesh of muscle die and the withered breath of my love, through clenched teeth hisses I cant forget your taste so sweet such splendor in your curves I see Expel you from my mind, I try but imprinted within my soul are you, a poison left from kisses Bitter is this humble defeat but you will be who you must be and leave this shell alone to cry dwelling on the smell of hair and skin, and all of you it misses Knowing no one else in life, has flavour so delicious

Allow the piercing light inside
Its warmth Its sting Its shine To hold you in my heart so dear Cherish what is never Fully mine Feast on words and memories time stolen touches sweet Promises made Assurance is given Nights of love again Discreet Just a small dark place I hold in your heart While you have taken over mine I grasp the smallest The seconds of the pierce The flicker of your shine

These snapped wings of freedom
broken by my own hand to stay grounded in your vision pebbles of life between my bloodied toes flight returns to wounded eagles with nurture from the goddess feeding from her open mouth accepting her path wherever it goes take what I am within yourself and use me for needs you see it is in the loving that you prevail for now, for I will leave as knowledge grows and what I teach your body knows for she decides what life bestows recieve from me these tender blows

Quiet broken by the pain
Of one unseen, unheard It's not known why Heartache reigns But it rules without a word Distance has no bearing On what is shared or given The heart knows where To place its hurt And knows it will be forgiven To love To share To be To have We ask for without question It is when the pain comes alive We see our true reflection

In order to learn from me
You chose to let me be Parting words thrown in haste seared open cracked wounds The salt of the sea is its life no less required than tides trapped within the moons pull Without knowing the reason why All I did was search for truth and cry Only when confronted by myself to see the glass reflects no lies when in bright light shines away shadows of boosted ego chased This light makes up me today

How can you hold
My heart so true If I could have my say I would not choose you My heart rules my head Although I can see There is no real future Between you and me So why am I stuck here With this heartache and pain? Why can't I escape This emotional drain? What will be lost If I walk out this door? If I don't have you What's left to explore? The secret has hit me I now hold the key It's not about you... It's what's missing in me!

Stand back from the doorway to sweetness
Let quiet the sigh - slip loose the hand. A finger pressed to those lips . . Intent eyes released Broken breath through mouth crook'd in pain hard and sharp To let breath again, see love let loose That translucent emptied shell lets her dance in light While empty hands lay still

How ironic.
Yeah...heartbreak's certainly been on my mind these days... ![]() The bubbling spring of all my sorrow is that I gambled on "tomorrow"... One more time to see your face, one more laugh, one more embrace. A chance to spend a lazy day, explaining why I'd been away. And reassure you, my best friend, I wouldn't ever stray again. A quiet morning, coffee cups, and hours indulged in catching up. Perhaps a thought-filled pause or two, to interject an "I love you"... To listen to your every word, about the things you'd seen and heard. And have you know that, while apart, I kept you close inside my heart. But now I'm left here, all alone, to speak these words to grass and stone... And now I see, to my dismay, That our "tomorrow" was yesterday. I love you still...I love you truly, Forever, you will be "My Julie". |

My heart was like an open book,
of which you openly partook. A novel to be written by your love, with divine inspiration from above. An empty slate upon which to write, Never a solitary moment too slight. You grabbed your chisel and inked your quill, and made your impressions, and pages did fill. innocence to mischief, and laughs to cries, you drifted away and severed your ties. Youth so wasted in efforts so vein, everyting to learn, yet nothing to gain. Time has passed on, and wounds may have mended, but I shall never forget our love that so ended. |

We are miles apart and I have no cash or car,
but if I knew I even had the slightest chance with you... I would find a way to get to where you are. To earn your smile is like finding a light amidst the dark... You need only look at me, and you take away my heart. And even though we're miles apart and I have no cash or car; If I knew I had a chance with you, I would get to where you are. Thank you. Asta!!

Poetry seems to be the style of choice, but I chose to write about my biggest heartbreak which had a huge impact on my life. Hope you enjoy since I'm still in the practicing mode of my writing.
Double Heartbreak She knew that she had to end the relationship. It was not going with the plans that they had devised after they graduated high school. She thought that it would change and that he would mature, as she had over the past three years. Instead, he stayed the irresponsible high school boy and she had developed into a woman with bigger dreams. The phone rang and she knew what she had to say. She said her piece and listened to him plead his love and promise that he would change if only she would give him the chance. She said that his chances were gone and he could live a happy life with someone who would accept his drinking and irresponsibility. She slipped the ring off her finger and her hand felt a ton lighter and her heart soared. She was finally free. He, on the other hand, was heartbroken and tried everything to get her back. He left her poems and sent flowers to her house. He came over and cried on her shoulder just asking for another chance. Then after a month of attempting to get her to change her mind, he left and she didn’t hear anything about him for 5 months. Then the new came…he was dead. He had died in a car accident the night before. She went to the funeral and listened to friends and family members confess how he had loved her until the day he died and always held hope that they would reconcile the differences. As she was standing at the gravesite filled, a man approached her and asked her name. He told her that he had something for her and handed her a manila envelope. The handwriting on the front was the handwriting that used to make her heart feel with joy. The drive home seemed like an eternity. The curiosity was burning inside her. She went to her room and shut the door. Slowly, she opened the envelope and took out the contents. There were 7 letters numbered and dated. She slowly read through each letter. The first letter praised her, but as the letters progressed they were filled with more and more hate. Then she read the words that broke her heart in the same way that she had broken his: ‘You probably wouldn’t care if I died today.”
