Questions about a diet
Hey, my friend was telling me about how he used slimfast for a couple of months or so and that he lost around 30 pounds in 4 weeks. I was wondering if that is possible and if the health risks are too great to try it.
Just a little info about me to help people make a recommendation, Im about 200 pounds and 6 feet, Im muscular but I got in my opinion way too much fat on me. I already jog and run and lift and control the amount and what I eat. Thanks |

it works in the short run (if you can stick to a liquid diet), but people tend to put the weight right back on. you should stick with common sense: eat four or five smaller meals instead of three large ones, cut down on carbs, don't eat late at night, and hit the cardo hard.

forget the quick fix diet. you can use it as a starter to get you motivated and all but really you need proper nutrition.
if you go on a diet like that im sure you will lose weight. i did and it worked for me. but instead of being 210lbs and fat i was 180lbs and fat. i was skinny fat. i lost alot of muscle and kept some of the fat. i would highly recommed heading over to www.bodybuilding.com and read the nutrition section. you need to watch your sugars, high GI carbs, and make sure you are getting a good split of protein, carbs, and fat. also dont worry about eating before bed. your body needs to repair itself when you are sleep and needs the proper nutrition. just keeps the carbs low, a good amount of protein and leave out the sugar. |

SlimFast and "Diets" are great for losing weight, but what are you gonna do when you stop doing them. I don't think that taking SlimFast for LIFE is a realistic, or healthy alternative, so what you should really be looking at is a lifestyle change. This isn't as dramatic as it sounds. All it consists of is eating the correct types of carbs - unrefined and adding protein so that you will feel fulfilled for longer. Eat up to 6 small meals a day so that you "keep the fire burning" and try not to eat too many carbs in the evening. Always incorporate excercise and you will be able to sustain this parten for life and not even think of it as a diet. Watch out for "low fat or low carb" foods as they usually have hidden sugars which will be stored as fat if they aren't burnt off. You can eat almost anything you like as long as you are sensible about it and don't go silly everyday.
