Whats a solid diet to gain weight?
Whats a solid diet to gain weight on a college boy's money? I'm not HARD pressed for money or anything, but is there anything I can do for about (ball park figure) 3 dollars a meal?
Also what are some good lifts for arm/chest definition? Usual I do push ups, bench, curls. Anything else that would help? Any and all help is appreciated.

Let me channel my nutritionist for a minuet, all set.
What you need is protein and carbs. Think dairy, mile yogurt and cheeses. Beans are excellent, they do double duty. Chili is cheap. Pasta with egg and a whit sauce is also good. The best thing I've found for the none meal meal is dietary supplement drinks. Boost is very good, put it in the freezer and it's just like a milk shake Last edited by Kim_type_thing; 11-10-2003 at 03:32 PM.. |

Tuna subs at subway are a college kid's dream. Back when i lived in the dorms and lifted regularly those were a staple. When doing the chest make sure you're doing all the inclined presses as well as the normal bench to really work out them pecs.

There's a pretty good diet plan (so I hear, I'm trying to cut, mainly) called Massive Eating or something like that. It was developed by a scientist/body builder/whatever over on www.t-mag.com (I'll try to find the specific link). Okay, it's in some sorta java script window, and I'm not computer literate enough to link it, but if you go to www.t-mag.com and do a search for Massive Eating, it'll pop up.
It isn't so much specific meals, but just guidelines for planning your meals to maximize size gain. It's pretty informative, and very in-depth. Hope that helped.

HERE is a good article about the 10 nutritional commandments to follow when bulking.
Here are some good tips to remember as well: # Increase your calories clean, keep the junk food out, look for calorie rich food with calories coming from protein not sugar. # That being said sugar is very important post-workout, just make sure its dextrose sugar, which can be bought at a rather low cost in pure powder form and is easily added to your whey protein shake after a workout. # Make sure you eat a good meal first thing in the morning, eggs, milk and oatmeal are all good ideas for breakfast, and it is truly the most important meal you will have during the day. # It is a good idea to have a slow absorbing protein meal before you go to bed. This will ensure your muscles don't starve during the time you are asleep and unable to feed them. Cheeses are a good idea and whey should be avoided as it is quickly absorbed and will not be around long enough to keep you going throughout the night. # Keep high amounts of cardio in your cutting routine as to much cardio will interfere with your weight-gaining goals by burning away all your precious calories. Don't mistake this for me saying NOT to do cardio! Cardio is important no matter if you are bulking or cutting. Just remember not to do 60 minute power sessions while trying to pack on pounds Last edited by Plan9Senior; 11-11-2003 at 12:40 AM.. |
