Wait, you haven't hit on the thing that'll REALLY blow plan9's circuits:
Last night I ate a triple cheeseburger... Heavy mayo, all the fixin's (well, no ketchup)... AND NO BUN!!! I ate that sucker with a fork. No fries, big glass of water, and a matched set of multivitamins. And on the way home? PORK RINDS! That's right! All the fat and protein I can eat, and low, controlled measures of carbs! It's Atkins all the way, baby! |

I can eat a ton of meat too on a balanced diet because meats are so damn low on calories . Fatty crap foods don't make me jealous, its the damn high carb filled foods that I crave once in a while. I allow myself 1 refeed day once every two weeks to shock my system and keep my metabolism racing, however; on the refeed day I feel very lazy and sluggish taking in those extra carbs. Refeeds are not to be confused with CHEAT days. 1 cheat meal is fine once in a while but refeeding is a totally different thing.
*note: on refeed days don't eat crap processed carbs, keep them clean and high GI starchy carbs (whole grains, pasta, etc.) and moderate fat. Allow yourself to eat more then you usually do for that day but don't go overboard. Refeeds have 2 functions: 1) Preserve your sanity so you can "let go" for a bit and not be consumed by your diet 2) Push you off the plateau which invariably happens as your body adjust to your diet/exercise levels. 3) To ensure proper levels of leptin are maintained, meaning you are in the "Fed" state, which signals your body to continue to lose weight. I don't know why I just went off on a tangent about refeeds, but I sure know that after reading this thread I cannot wait until Sunday for my refeed Last edited by Plan9Senior; 10-22-2003 at 01:21 PM.. |
