Ran 12 miles yesterday and had something of a victory. I actually ran fast. Well, not in the grand scheme of things, but for me? WAY faster than I thought I would be able to keep up for so many miles. I'm happy to know I can do it!

3,115.7 mi

Haven't updated my score in a while. Still walking to work, I would say 3/4 of the time. It's been 5 weeks since I updated, so 5 * 2.2 * 2 * 5 * 3/4 = 82.5 miles.
Add in about 10 miles on a small island this last weekend, 92.5. And a few more instances of walking on weekends, which I will conservatively put at 7.5 miles (to round up) so that's 100 miles in the last 5 weeks.

Personal total = 176 miles.
Thread total = 3529.2 miles.

Well she doesn't walk with me to my workplace . Also, on some of the weekend trips she was doing her fieldwork, knocking on Thai people's doors, while I wandered around small Icelandic towns. But she does run at the gym, maybe she should post here...

I just got a new ipod nano and the Nike+ipod kit. I decided I really need to get in shape. Starting from sedentary, I didn't realize just how out of shape I was but just doing 1.2 miles on a treadmill kicked my ass. I'm dripping sweat, and I was going at an 11 minute mile pace for about 3/4 mile, with 1/4 mile warm up and 1/4 mile cooldown. I look forward to getting in shape, and being able to contribute higher numbers to this thread.

Nice, laconic. Every effort's a good effort and I'm sure you'll see the results you're looking for soon!

Went on a little hunting trip for some markings in the road while riding home from school on Thursday, then squeezed in a 3-miler on foot. Long run this morning. Ouch.
