So i've started noticing a trend in a certain type of person that is equally interesting/fucking annoying. Basically, there is this type of person I've met on numerous occations, that all act in a similar way. I'm talking about those people who are always happy, agree with you, are super nice, etc. But ultimately when it comes down to it they use that kindness as an excuse to be so fucking selfish, hollow, etc, that its disgusting. They're so good at doing whats socially accepted that most people dont notice anything wrong. They're like all of the social outcasts you love to hate, the underdeveloped 40 year old virgins who cant figure it out for the life of them, the super intelligent fucks who love to talk about all of the AP credits they've aquired, etc,but see with these fucks they're just like any other down to earth person you've met. They're essentially normal, say normal things. But after you know them for a while their true colors come out. You see this shell they've created to protect themselves n you just have to walk away. They dont know how to disagree, to voice an opinion, to be something other than what they've seen on television, whats been programmed into their little heads since birth.

Flame on, and if any of these people im tlaking about would liek to voice their opinion (lol), then please do so, chances are if your on TF then you dont qualify anyways, if you are, you should be on facebook.

ya know I've tried to convey this observation to more p eople than I can count and its the same response every time, what are you talking about. But every now and again somebody has had a similar experience, and it clicks, and they're response is "holy fuck I know that guy!" .

It may just be a southern thing, and even then to try to explain what its like in the south to someone from another place is futile. N before you evne start, I was born and raised in the North and I now live in Virginia. For as awful a reputation the south has ( and to an extent quite well deserved), the North and all its honorable glory is far worse. Its in the details, n if you'd like to debate it I could write a book.

Also, I agree completely that theres a good god damn chance that I'm one of those people IM talking about, chances are each and every one of YOU are too. I dont deny it, I merely try to be aware of it and work on it. Its a product of American media, society, popular culture whatever.

If I wasnt clear before, let me try again (chances are I'll fail). Its a type of person (maybe its just all of us at varing degrees), who is good at being an average american (example being the guy picked in the middle of the dodge ball lineup), they're nice people, they say nice things, say hello in passing, hold the door for you, exellent at small talks, whatever. BUt theres something slightly different about this type of person. They picked up the social rules from everybody around them, but never developed anything more. They are ethical, moral people. But not because THEY believe that it is good, but because thats just what your supposed to do. Was it Descartes who described them as "Human Cattle" ? The MAJOR difference in what Im talking about is that, there are mindless people who are worthless. There are people who are normal, down to earth, trying to get by. The type of person Im talking about exists inbetween, and nobody really notices. Maybe thats not a bad thing, I try my hardest not to get my panties into a bunch over it but ask yourself, do you want this type of person finding their way into some position of power where they get to make decisions t hat directly effect your life. Like say... oh I dont know... a politician. If that guy is making his decision on health care based on the morals he learned from an episode of House, then wouldnt you agree perhaps that we're............... FUCKED. wait, let me try that again for you pretentious pricks. we're FUUUUUUUUUUCKED.

Now, what else.... well see this whole topic is walking a very thin line with that age old, "I'm a intellectual, pretentious, Kerry loving, Bush bashing, fuck who Hates all those "throw some Deez on that Bitch" mindless drones who spend their time scrolling Facebook. (I personally hate facebook, dont like it, suck my dick). But see I've tried my hardest to keep myself in the middle. I Hate the smart pretentious fucks, n I got no problems with the MTV generation (however you want to describe them). I also try to keep away from judgement, nomatter who or what they've done. Stomp kittens, commit murder, color outside the lines, you're human n nobodies keeping score no matter what you think. I do however believe that just being mindless and a product of the system is even worse than being a member of the Nazi party. At least make your OWN mind up to commit genocide.

I'm trying to describe something thats very subtle. I obviously cant describe this well enough or I wouldn't have gotten so many flamers. Which, brings me to another topic..... The glorious Flamer. I personally feel you fine gentlemen should be running this country. I also feel you should be set ablaze and thrown from a helecopter. So torn..
No matter which ends up happening, there's no dispute that a fine flamer is far greater than the cattle who hold all the chips these days.

I think you're just describing fake people... there's lots of those types in this world.

I do my best to avoid them and minimize their impact on my life, but you can't escape them all. Especially if they are in positions of power. Anyways, there is no use in complaining about those kinds of people, because it's not like they will ever go away. And hell, there has never been a person in this world who was not/is not/will be fake at some time in their lives to some degree.

Also, what is wrong with judging people? It's human nature and even if you like to say you don't judge people, you do. Everyone makes judgements about everything in their lives. It's natural and normal. It's when you judge people unfairly that it becomes a problem.

Also, any crap about the South or the North being better than the other is pure bullshit. Neither side was devoid of atrocities; neither side was devoid of assholes. Everyone has been/will be an asshole at some point in their lives. It's a fact of life. Human nature is the same that it has always been and always will be. Bitching about this is not productive in the least, because it will never change. Just live your fucking life and do your best to ignore the shit that will never change.

Also, do your best to spell "ridiculous" correctly, or I will hunt you down and kill you with my thumbs. That goes for everyone who reads this.

I don't think it's a matter of a failure to comprehend on anyone's part but your own. While you very well may be whatever it is that you consider to be the realest of all real people with the misfortune to be trapped in a world of fakers - or for word I've have used when I was 15, poseurs - that does very little to make you look less like the belligerent and rambling ass you've made yourself into.

Get a job in retail, do some volunteer work, do anything that forces you to work with various types of people and you'll realize that we're all much more the same than we'll ever be different and while you certainly can't be best friends with everyone - with the right perspective you'll find that there's always something to appreciate in each person.

And as for those shady, "human cattle" types - do anything I've suggested and you'll soon realize that you're better off focusing on yourself rather than trying to accomplish the impossible by accurately assessing the value of a persons entire existence through your relationship with them.

So you argue there are two kinds of "morals," one that is imposed upon the individual from society which is the one your "human cattle" possesses, and one that comes from some unspecified source within the individual? Is that it? And if so, where do you believe this inner moral comes from? God? Are we born with it?

Personally, as a casual Pierre Bourdieu fan, I believe all morals, values etc. are imprinted in our bodies by society. We all act and think in a certain way because we believe, we know, we have been taught, that that is the proper way to behave. Even critical analysis of our own acts and thoughts is a learned behaviour.

First off "human cattle" is a term Descartes coined I believe, not I, I'm looking for the source n will post the quote when I find it.

I think the whole idea of dual morals is a basic philisophical concept that many philosophers have spoken of. There is a version of 'you' that exists in the eyes of others, which I believe is shaped almost entirely by the society that surrounds us. then there is the 'you' that you see in the mirror, the person you probably want others to see (or maybe not). I'm talking about the type of person who takes the 'you' as seen/created by others and uses that as the 'you' that is seen in the mirror, effectively losing their own unique personality in the process.

Yes I realize this is describing a 'fake' person, but like I've said, you can spot a fake person easily enough. They take the image of themselves that others see and make themselves look great, but then when they look ath themselves in the mirror they see a weak and pathetic person. They see themselves for who they really are. The type of person I'm talking about cannot make that distinction, they dont notice anything wrong.

There are definitely worse types of people in this world, but if you have a public relations job like Skafe was talking about, maybe its more important for your own wellbeing to be able to spot these types and know how to react to them instead of just hoping everybodies going to be generally good. Next thing you know they've fucked you over.

And btw I do have a job where I interact with people, and usually if I've met them its when they are at their worst and they're showing their true colors. Im an EMT and in this line of work you have to be aware of the types of people you're dealing with. They can easily make a bad situation worse.
