Cheaters
I play online games such as Quake 2 and 3, Unreal Tournament, BF1942 ,CS,GR, et all. What amazes me is that there are so many people. in so many different OLG genres, who go beyond cheap playing styles and use game hacks in order to win.
I have never understood the rationale behind using a cheat and how a person that employs them can feel any sense of true victory. I mean for god sakes, is their life so pathetic that they must resort to trickery, in the realm of a computer game, to shore up their decrepit self esteem? To cheat in a virtual reality world and gain notoriety through the application of surreptitious devices or furtive programs is indicative of a very disturbed individual. How do they celebrate this nontransferable achievement in the real world? Does the explanation come with a rather large asterisk, denoting that the vafrous feat was achieved with a “corked bat”? Or is their universe so small and their life so emotionally diminished, that this game is the only thing in which they can have some semblance of control? And they have to cheat in order to achieve even this? How delusional is it to gloat in the mere application of some software program found on the internet and misconstrue this a true reflection of superiority? What sort of synaptic malfunction allows them to equate this tarradiddle as some sort of personal achievement based on skill? Sad. How very sad. When you confront some one about using a hack, the audacious claims of innocence and the indignant counter volleys are nothing more than further cries for help. So please, get some counseling and stop f@cking around with my entertainment time

Wow, good rant! Those are my exact feelings!
When someone accuses my of hacking, I'm like "No thanks buddy, not THAT pathetic!" It is so very very retarded to wanna cheat to get a good score and etc. It's truely upsetting that people even think about going this far all in the quest of a crooked victory. But ya know what's really funny?! WHEN YOU KICK THE LIVING HELL OUT OF SOMEONE USING HACKS!!!! Then you have the joy of saying "Suck that cheaty little bitch!"

They're are scripts that servers can run to determine hacks.. <NOTE>THEY ARE NOT FULLPROOF<ENDNOTE> Some people are just big fucking loser and be even bigger ones online when they cheat. It totally ruins a game, and a gaming community. Cheats on a console are one thing, but when your cheating against real humans thats something else. MOVE OUT OF YOUR MOTHERS BASEMENT CHEATER!

I love it when everyone teams up on both teams to kill the cheaters, that really pisses em off. Then the leave and come back with a different name. And try again. Losers.
Then again I do have to reiterate the old sports adage: 'If you arent cheating you arent trying.' And 'Its only cheating if you get caught.' |

You could ask "char", from this board. Another player on my BBS just caught him cheating in Usurper, he had 1.5 billion gold at level 27 which is impossible without cheating.

Always hated those dame wallhacks and aimbots...always sucked the fun out of the game. But, watching everyone team up on them was always fun, as well as watching Mods smite the losers!

Hmmm, if I knew where my anti-hack mods where at I'd give them to you. Basicly, they report anyone using wallbots, aimbots, ect, and will report it to me and the admin. It also attempts to disable them, and change the skin of the person to a guy with an ass instead of a head. If on a server that supports it, they lose all control for the match, die alot, then get the skin sent to their system and set as their defult and finally, get banned based on their IP....

With CS, The first person view is extremely helpful with spotting cheaters. there is a certian movement that is done when using recoil cheats, following someone through a wall with wall hacks, that sort of thing. I hate cheaters, but sometimes, when I cant get enough of a challenge, I wish for a cheater to battle.

Cheating in an online game is pointless, really. If the purpose of the online game is to test your skill against the skills of others around the world, then cheating does not have a place in any of these games, having nothing to do with skill. I remember when I used to own in Jedi Knight, cheaters used to change gravity and textures, or elongate thier lightsabre holding it strait out and start spinning rapidly from the torso. Gee.. I wonder how he just killed me...

it is very pointless.
but, only about 1/100 accused cheaters are actually cheating. i've seen people accusing people all the time and i can see that they're not cheating by spectating them.

You won't find any cheaters in on Counter-Strike servers, unless they don't have the updated VAC (Valve anti-cheat). If a cheat is detected you are banned from all HLGaurd servers until 2008.
If the server has HLGaurd installed, the "cheater" you see is probably l33t, like myself. I get banned often but that's fine. My clan server uses the most updated VAC's and we see cheaters attempt to enter at least 5 times a day.

I used to play CS a long time ago. Some days I would play really well and some days I seemed to just get owned. Someone in a game once told me your sucking when people are using hacks. So a couple of months later I found the wall hack for CS. I installed it and played on a couple of servers. I used it to find people that were also using it. I could see through the walls and I would run towards intersections and then run back without ever getting into anyones actual field of vision. On every server I got on there were multiple people who would be shooting at me in those conditions. It made me stop playing CS. I have not played it since that day.
I still think I was just above average at the game since I have played with people who would always get called bots. One fun time we had was we all changed our names to [BOT] and everyone was dang they need to tone down these bots they are to hard. |

Lets see.. I can understand a underage of 18 cheater.. they are kids.. and if they cheat just proves they are worthless to society at a future date.. (or has the makeings of a good CIA opt) Now a old cheater.. that's just sad.
Take Delta Force Landwarrior.. I was on the top 20 squads .. one squad i hated cuz I knew the losers cheated but couldnt proove it.. now that i got DSL i thought I'd give ye old game a try again.. sure enough, I raised my rank in three games.. no more laggy after images.. what i shoot is what is there lol.. this one dude i remember from that squad was in a public server.. he was jumping really.. really fast.. and able to shoot through walls.. wow cheater.. everyone stopped and saw him after i yelled out cheater.. he told me i was sucking cuz of my dial up.. my response "Hey chummer.. I got DSL now.. you lame "Im not a cheater, your connection sucks" excuse wont fly anymore, I'm on to ya." he laughs calls me a nOOb.. (god i hate that word) and kills me. The server mod of that games.. says.. "he may be a nOOb in your eyes, but your a ban nOOblet in mine.." *punt* Games like Diablo 2 .. with playing hardcore is annoying. I can understand the game is old, and that bnet dosent have the workers to monitor the coffee pot besides the servers.. but they always claimed hack free.. and yet.. I lose hardcore after hardcore char .. I was having to use maphack.. *sigh* cuz it has a built in drophack killer. *something bnet could employ but nooo* and whats the point of playing when the loser next to ya.. spends mommies money on paypal or ebay to buy hacked items.. i usually play with a trusted group or tcp/ip games.. My opinion of the online gaming community is low.. real low.. Unless your playing a pay to play.. hacks will be there enforce. if you look it up.. blizzard north games are about the worse there are for getting cheats and hacks.. I mean they get a DDOS attack every month. and play on RRRRRRREEEEaaaaaallllllllyyyy old AT&T servers... and those servers work or all thier games.. even the old diablo 1.

Amen... Using hacks can be pretty fun when playing friends at a LAN party, but when I want to hop online and play a nice coop or deathmatch, nothing pisses me off more than cheaters. That's why i've been playing console games more than pc games.

I've always wondered what was the point in cheating or using bots. If you're not actually going to play the game, why bother?

BTW: Using hacks to find other hackers is a very bad idea, unless you're friends with the admin and HLGuard, Cheating Death, VAC, and all other anti-cheat software is disabled. Even then its a bad idea. |

I've used cheats in CS before at LAN's with buddies and online. At the LAN's it was just fun to see how long it'd take for people to notice, you know just some goofing off. When I cheated online it was never because I wanted to be taken seriously and get great scores, it was fun sometimes to just go into a random server and dick around. Cheating isn't much fun when in servers where you're a regular, it is actually quite lame. The funny thing is that I'd never been accused of cheating while actually running a cheat, but I've been accused countless times when playing seriously. Ok, that's a lie....one time I was running an aimbot and I was planting the bomb, just as I finished an enemy appeared, and since I was still holding the fire button my gun jumped up and popped him in the head...unzoomed with a scout, from a fair distance. Someone called me a cheater then, I didn't deny it. I realize that most people think that cheating is pathetic and whatever, and if you're trying to be taken seriously and cheat, then it is. But, every now and then just goofing off with a cheat can be fun.
I also was an mid-level admin on my now deceased clan's server(sigh). Looften is right, the only true way to prevent cheating is to monitor, log, record and ban. I spent soo much time in spectator mode recording suspected cheaters, using my non-clan name of course. It was all a waste though because the server went down shortly after I had actually collected enough evidence to warrant a ban. My main problem with most cheaters is not that they are cheating, but they are often assholes too. They talk all sorts of trash and are usually foul-mouthed little bastards. If they were nice guys, I wouldn't mind as much. I'd rather play with a nice cheater than an asshole with skill. |

Its amazing how Cheaters will talk about thier skill.. All this proves to me is how much life is going to screw them over. If they cheat and think its all them.... Life is gonna hand it to them in pieces and then give them the butcher knife it used...
They talk smack, yet have no skill. If you cheat, do it on your own, and dont talk smack.. If you have skill.. talk all the smack you want but keep it mature... No "MY DICK IS BIGGER THAN YOUR DICK" (a bit of Carlin for you guys ) Kirk: I liked your posts, but your last one looks like you're just trying too damn hard to use "big" words.

I'm not saying that I cheat when I play counterstrike but my friend likes to cheat sometimes only because it's fun.. but of course only for a few rounds then he plays normally. I don't understand the rational of hacks/cheats though. Like maphack for Starcraft. Or... blacksheepwall or whatever it is. I guess it's a nice tool but it ruins the whole point of the game.

I would rather play fairly and get my ass kicked (and probably would, have spent something like 10 minutes playing any kind of PC game in the past four months and that was AOE/AOE II).
The point of playing is not to display your expertise at dirty and underhanded techniques, but to showcase your actual skill - or lack thereof. |
