Bingo!

Seems it may be in NY or it may be partly in NJ, in dispute currently. So I wasn't really sure how to answer your NY Q.

But you got it, yer up.

I wonder if we should count our blessings that New Jersey and New York didn't attack each other to settle their border dispute. As far as I can see, it is "officially" in both NY and NJ. This is a good summary from Wiki:

It is situated in Jersey City, New Jersey and New York City. Ellis Island was the subject of a border dispute between New York State and New Jersey. According to the United States Census Bureau, the island, which was largely artificially created through landfill, has an official land area of 129,619 square meters, or 32 acres, more than 83 percent of which lies in the city of Jersey City. The natural portion of the island, lying in New York City, is 21,458 square meters (5.3 acres), and is completely surrounded by the artificially created portion. For New York State tax purposes it is assessed as Manhattan Block 1, Lot 201. Since 1998, it also has a tax number assigned by the state of New Jersey.

OK, shoot.

Where in the world am I?

nope, nothing here about Plains of Abraham. But one of the things I like about this game is looking up stuff I never heard of, so now I know a little something about that. Also, we have a Canadensis in PA.

The significance of where I am is much more modern than some colonial battle.

That's funny, since both of those places played a part in my thoughts about where I am.

But Tul is right, I'm on the CN Tower.

I recall being up there with my boys who were getting big time vertigo from looking down through the glass floor, straight down about 1200 ft.

And then while we were looking around up there, a Blue Jay's game started down in the stadium and we had like bird's eye view of the game....though you'd need hawk-eyes to see much detail.

That photo above of the Jay's stadium is not mine...I'm pretty sure at home I have one that I actually took and the stadium was well populated.
