not china.

I'm north of China, and that June 30th date I previously mentioned is significant to this place.

Alright! That's it. The object blew up a few miles above Tunguska on June 30, 1908 and 41 years later and many miles away I was born...what a strange coincidence.

I'm surprised nobody but us threesome have gotten into this. I'm enjoying this game but I'm wondering if it's wearing thin on you guys. Where in the world is everybody else? Do you guys have any ideas on how we can draw other people into this? I was thinking of linking to this thread in my posts in other sections with a comment like "where in the world are all you people?".

OK unc, you're up.

Yeah, after my dyslexic moment with Japan and then UP's Tunguska guess I did some research and figured that had to be it.

And yes I wish others would join in more often, not sure how to make that happen.

Some story with that locale? I basically named the two SV cities I could remember. Any reason you choose that one?

I never did any military service but I'm thankful to those who did...thanks to both of you. It would be quite a coincidence if unc knew some of my buddies who where there in those years. I entered college in Sept. 1967 and lucky for my ass the engineering curriculum had a "college exemption" at that time, then when they established the lottery system for the draft I got a high number so was able to finish college. If I got faced with the draft I planned to join the Air Force and be a pilot but I never played out that option.

OK...where in the world am I? This place is not a city, but is a well-known location, at least to exotic world travellers.
