...and Tully, don't make me feel so old . I just googled Breckenridge and there are different numbers attached to the ships apparently but, yes, it was in the 60's and, as i said, i was a very young LITTLE girl. I'm not sure which one i was on but i was a navy child (not a brat) and my father was stationed in Japan for 3 years. We lived one year on a navy base and two years in a Japanese village within commuting distance to the base. It's this Japanese village that I am going for here.

(wikipedia mentioned a breckenridge that last sailed in 1945 and i can guarantee you I wasn't on THAT ship...i wasn't even a thought)

If that's not it she might be in one of the small beach villages south of Yokuska.

Spent many nights under that Budha drinking with my buddies. Never anything as bad a Scotch and coke... but close.
