I'm a big fan of the show. Just wonder how many other MSTies lurk in TFP. Also if anyone has any word on the new box set I'm assuming will come out in the near future. I'm very cerious to what shows they pick, and if the add any more extras. I really like where there going now with the box sets. The little intro before the show, Mike talks about that episode. And in the latest box set they had a interview with Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy. I have been exposed to the DVDs more so then when it was on the air. I really didn't get to watch it till they moved to Sci Fi. So i know i missed out on some good ones. I have actualy been looking for mst3k the movie, but i can't seem to find an afordable copy. If some one could help me out there i would be much abliged.
Post up some of your favorite episodes, Suggest some shows anyone else has yet to see. Favorite moments, quotes. Anything Mst3k related. One of my favorite episodes has to be Hobgoblins.. man that was a cheesefest! I don't know what was worse the Garden tool fight, or the really bad puppets. ![]()

I just started aquiring the episodes this week. Up till now I had only seen the movie, and it was damn funny.
A couple days ago I watched "Zombie Nightmare" starring Adam West. It's pretty damn funy. I'll be sure to check out "Hobgoblins" next, thanks for the tip.

The funniest episodes were the "Hercules" movies.
In general, however, my friends and I came up with much funnier comments than the guys on the show

If your just buying the DVDs now, and haven't seen the episodes yet, i suggest: Manos Hands of Fate, has to be the, worst one yet. Red Zone Cuba is pretty bad too. All the ones they realesed on indivusal DVD are all gold to me. I have them all exepct the hell cats, and I accuse my parents. For easy accesibility, i say pick up Manos: Hands of Fate, and Red Zone Cuba. You can't go wrong with the box sets though. Some of the shows on them I havent seen more then twice. But the good ones out weigh the bad. I just belive hobgoblins to be a good episode, as is Devil doll. And i don't really know about the tape swaping/trading thing there is to aquire shows. Has any one acctualy done this? I might make a ratings list of the shows i have, because alot are hit and miss, and i have nothing else better to do. :P...

The funniest one of the Mike seasons is definitely Space Mutiny. Hilarious. Unfortunately, it only comes in a set with 3 not-as-good shows. If you can find it used at a store or something, get it.
"It should be noted that Captain Santa Claus really is failing here." But yeah, I love MST3K. It is the best idea in the history of visual media.

Starman -- I liked Overdrawn, but the Girl in Gold Boots was not a good subject for the show. It was too boring even for them, just like Hamlet. It's sort of like Manos, when there's a five minute stretch of driving and one of them will say "So...Manos, the Hands of Fate?" It's so ridiculously dull that it gets to be funny, but they never hit that with GiGB or Hamlet. As for OatMB(what a great acronym!), it's sort of painful to Raul Julia in such a terrible movie.

I felt that Girl in Gold Botts need move of the Joel type humor. Then i belive it would have been much more humorous then it was. I still liked it with mike, but Joels humor would have worked better there. But thats a whole other can O' Worms. The "Joel was funnier then Mike, or Mike was funnier then Joel debate".

What was the one with the 'time-machine built into a Cessna' movie titled?
That one is one of my favorites. The guy with the mullet is NOT your prototypical hero. ![]() Also, the one about the electrified worms(I think Squirrm?), and the Soggy Bottom monster movie. Those were great. ![]()

Big fan here. I didn't really watch it as religiously once it moved to Sci-Fi, though, since for one, I don't believe in waking up early on Saturdays, and also things weren't the same without Dr. Forrester. Furthermore, Ortega was a poor substitute for Torgo.
![]() Some of my favorites were: Manos- of course the Russian movies- Jack Frost, Day the Earth Froze, and Sinbad Pod People- "Trumpy, you can do stupid things!" Fugitive Alien- mainly because it was the first one I got to see. Still fun, though.

Probably one of the best, and most underrated, comedy shows in history. I laughed harder at that show than I ever have at any other movie or tv show. My friends and I still go out and do that to movies like: 13 going on 30, Anacondas: the hunt..., Baby Geniuses 2, Thunderbirds, and Yu-gi-oh. We've been kicked out several times, not that we wanted to be watching the movies, but making fun of them can be really a great way to spend your time.

I loved that show when it was on the SciFi Channel in the UK. The best I saw was Space Mutiny, which I taped, lent to a friend, then found he had taped over it with a documentary about the Solar System. Safe to say I haven't spoken to him since.
We haven't had a single episode released on DVD or VHS here in the UK. Anyone have any idea if there's a region 2 DVD in the works? |

Man, I really do miss that show. I have several recorded on tape and watch them from time to time. Been thinking about picking up some of the dvds too. I only wish they could be picked up for syndication somewhere, but I guess anyone that does might also have to negotiate the rights from the original movie as well, and that is probably what keeps it from happening.

favorite episodes
i think my favorite episode is where they watch "The Beginning of the End," where grasshoppers attack Chicago (and walk across postcards doubling as skyscrapers). Peter Graves was in it and man is he corny in it (not surprisingly).
If anyone hasn't seen that episode, I recommend it. I found it at Borders a couple of years ago for $8 and it was worth every penny. |

Has anyone else seen the comerical on, i belive, Comedy Central. Its for mst3k DVD. Odd thing is, It uses the box art from Vol. 4. It has Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, Mano: hands of Fate. Its called "Mst3K The Essentials".Why would Rhino have Manos on there, and shorts, if you can get them in a eariler box set (the shorts), and on single DVD (Manos). I checked Rhinos site, it was there too. It's just 25 bucks, i guess its unfortunate for the people that paid for Manos already but good for those who have not. I would like to check it out for, Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, i heard very good things about that episode.
Heres a link to the Rhino site with the DVD; -=R H I N O=- And here's the site that was on T.V; -=M S T 3 K V I D E O . C O M=- What i found interesting on the Mst3K site, is the news of a new box set comming soon. Sorry about the crazy caps. Thats how its typed on the site. Quote:

It is a good one, and another of my favorites, along with the Mexican "Santa Claus". I kinda wish they'd handled more kiddy movies, but maybe they thought they were too easy of a target.
On a semi-related note, Mr. B Natural was hot. ![]()

One upon a time, I downloaded all of the MST episodes that I could find and burned them to CD. I probably have 50-60 episodes now. I pull one out to watch every now and then. My wife just shakes her head. Sure she has cried with laughter at some of the bits, but she thinks the show as a whole is a waste of time.

I have that "Essentials" DVD. I find I'm pretty much alone on this, but I think the Mike episodes are much funnier that the Joels. Joel was too laid back for me. Actually, the change I liked best was to the new Crow (Bill Corbett?). Of course, this is from the perspective of someone who started watching the show on the SciFi channel. If I had gotten cable earlier in my life, I would probably feel differently.

Ah man, I loved MST3K. Unfortunately it has had some rather bad permanent effects upon me. Now whenever I watch a craptackular movie I have an unresistable urge to begin adding dialogue! In fact, I sometimes rent craptackular movies to satisfy that sudden compulsion.

I just got through watching MST3K: Red Zone Cuba.
Almost complete ass. Only a few good lines in it. Definitely missed with this one. Anybody have a list of their misses? The ones they couldn't rescue, no matter what?

The same thing happend when i watched the Wild World of batwoman, i didnt like it for the longest time, i saw it once, then about a month or so later, i watch it again for the hell of it, and now its a good one.
