Howard Zinn's "People's History Of The United Sates". Lots of interesting stuff in here

Angelmass, by Timothy Zahn. Not as good as some of the things he's done, but still really enjoyable.

I just finished 'Diary' by Chuck Palahniuk and a lot of Philip K. Dick stories and novels (e.g. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? a.ka. Bladerunner).

And I am now onto more Philip K. Dick short stories until I get tired of reading Sci-Fi. After that, I am up for any good suggestions.

I have absolutely no idea what is happening in this book.

Reading Closing Time by Joseph Heller. Tis the sequel to Catch-22 where the surviving characters are old men. Haven't really read it enough, as is the case with reading in general since the start of this year. Seems quite good and has a number of choice reviews.

I am reading A Storm of Swords by George R R Martin. I haven't ever read anything this good other than the wheel of time.

i thought it was a trilogy :P:P i wonder if A Feast of Crows will end it.....

If you're diggin on the Song of Fire and Ice series, you should check ot Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, by Tad Williams (3 or 4 books depending on whether it's paperback or hardback: "The Dragonbone Chair", "The Stone of Farewell", and "To Green Angel Tower" [Parts 1 and 2 in paperback]). They stand up with Martin and Jordan and even Tolkien, and he's finished writing them, so there's a definite end.

My current reading selections are:
Heinlein, "The Man Who Sold the Moon", at work and in the garage, and Harris "Silence of the Lambs" in the bathroom.

I've been reading a lot of Hunter S. Thompson lately. Specifically, I have re-read the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas book and The Proud Highway (a collection of his letters and such from the 1950s and 1960s). A truly unique man. Some of the most hillarious writing I've ever read, yet he seems very grounded and down to earth in his whole philosophy.

Just finished Palahuniuk's Survivor, now reading a book called Prophecy by Greg Gorden.

Now I'm onto The Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Rings ... in between studying for my finals.

i'm a big reader, so i usually read a few books at the same time...but currently i'm reading:

Queen of the Damned
The Great Gatsby
Beowulf

and i'm still trying to get into the 5th Harry Potter book, but it just doesn't seem to draw me in like the other 4 did, and besides, the other books that i'm reading take up too much of my time.

its getting a little difficult to keep the stories straight, but i kind of have a schedule for when i read each book. i read one book a certain day/night and a different one the next day. that usually separates them enough for me to keep the stories straight and remember everything well enough...

I'm not reading anything right now, probably going to order this pretty soon.

Great books. It takes a while to read them all, but they are so incredible. Ive read them all twice now, and plan on reading them again soon.

Heretics of Dune, by Frank Herbert.

I just finished Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. Great book. I am now about halfway through the Da Vinci Code, at the insistence of almost everyone I know. It is an interesting book so far, but I dont think it is as good as everyone has been making it out to be.

I'm back to catching up on the NJO. Last night I started Edge of Victory II: Rebirth. The books are okay, even good considering they're Star Wars novels. I refuse to read Da Vinci Code. One too many people recommended it to me.

I am in the middle of Naked Economics by Charles Wheelan, it's great introduction to economics and there's absolutely NO MATH!

Getting ready for Lolita and A Heartbreak work of Staggering Genius, that were christmas gifts.

Also rereading The Things They Carried, an amazing book, one of my favorites.

I just finished reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas last night, just bought and watched the DVD tonight.

Next up I got The Da Vinci Code followed by The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I had an economics teacher that kept on raving about that book, is it an easy read or is it more of a boring teaching kind of book?

It's a suprising light read from what you may expect from previous forays into econ books, Jimmy4. Most school libraries (colleges) should have a copy; the writing is very clean with lots of humor and easy to understand examples.

Done with Da Vinci Code. That took all of two days to read. I enjoyed it more for the interesting historical tidbits than the story--I thought the story was very much overrated, and reeked of a cheap thriller. Interesting though, if for no other reason than the little pieces of history interwoven.

Im not sure what to read next... It needs to be something that I can finish withing the week so that when I get back to school I can re-read the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Hmmmm....
