Man, I wish I had pressured more my once-girlfriend from the Ukraine to teach me some Russian. Now I don't know where she is, nor where I am. I would llike to see red once again.
Nazdrave, (in some variation) is all I know.

I have no idea what's going on, here. That may be a plus. Actually, that's pretty much my normal day.
Me: 1. Father 2. Musician 3. Printer of fabulous T-shirts 4. Caver 5. There is no five. I'm just poking around here because someone hotlinked one of my images, so I followed the URL from my stats, and it looked interesting. Don't be put off by username -- it's just an anagram of my real name. I browsed around a while for a "why does this site exist" manifesto-type thread, but couldn't find one. Another sign of my general state of cluelessness -- can someone point me to any such thing that might be in writing? I'm genuinely curious about how/why this community exists. Cheers, Chris

Welcome.... hmmmm... that's a great question... we've been around for 6+ years and everyone knows why, but I guess we all tell each other the story.
We exist because we wanted to have a place that has a better type of forum, that is, to better oneself and challenge each other with different opinions and viewpoints. It isn't just social tolerance, but really social acceptance. Anagrams are fun! why caver and not spelunker?

Firstly because caver is easier to say and more immediately descriptive, and besides spelunker sounds stupid, anyway, doesn't it? The caving community as a whole stopped using spelunker to self-describe a good 20 years ago, I'd say. These days it tends to carry negative connotations -- words change.

back after a couple years away
Used to frequent the forums starting back in '03 but for some reason or another real life seemed to take over and I found that I didn't have as much time as I used to for browsing/chatting/posting etc.
Recently, I've found ways to make some more time for myself and I was very happy to find the community still alive and active! me: late 20s married to a cool artsy gal (who does watercolor / acrylic and mixed media work) I do a little bit of everything when it comes to paying the bills, though my office title is somewhat silly : "senior presentation layer developer" ... which pretty much just means that I build other people's websites for them. World of Warcraft junkie still (sigh) - though last year I decided that playing a single account wasn't quite enough so I grabbed a few extra PCs and now run 5 accounts at a time for kicks. so in summary - I guess I am pretty much just a lucky nerd who found a hot artist that had a thing for nerds it's fun to be back! |

Hi all, I'm Mellu and I used to lurk here YEARS ago. Decided it was time to check it out again and see what's been going on. Maybe this time around I'll lurk less.
I'm more or less an ex-punk who (sorta) grew up to become a married RN and owner of 2 amazing dogs. |

Hi to all. My name is Chris, I'm in my late 40s, have been married over 21 years, & consider myself to be pretty much a normal guy. Hopefully as I get more comfortable posting you will get to know me a little better, & vice versa.
I found this site when I used Google to search for a site where adults could openly discuss real world concerns & experiences, including ones of a sexual nature . From what I've seen so far there's a lot of candor here, & very little judging. I don't want to sound like an asskisser, but it can't be easy moderating a forum where just about any subject allowed. I'm looking forward to spending some time with you folks. |
