Well, as for as the outlet goes, we have a pretty decent sized mall in town that's supposed to be an "outlet" mall. Inside that mall, in the Neiman Marcus store, I've seen ON SALE pants that were $600 a pop. Supposedly 40 % or whatever off the actual asking price. If I'm gonna spend more on clothes to cover my body than I do on the rest of the things I need to survive, I say we start a naked club. Donate all your clothes to the people who obviously can't live without their *gasp* $450 jeans that have a couple of letters thrown together on a piece of material.

Stuff in outlet stores are not necessarily any cheaper than stuff in malls. I've compared prices, and some stuff (mostly shirts I think) can be $20+ more expensive at outlets. Just do your homework, and watch for coupons or whatever for the department stores at the malls.
Also, I don't think there are any outlet stores in Georgetown, but everything in Georgetown (especially the school) is super expensive. |

Hmm, I find it interesting that very few people can admit that a more expensive piece of clothing could possibly be made from better materials, or be better constructed. Kinda like arguing that a Mercedes is no better of a machine than an Edsel. And just because someone spends an above-average amount on a product service doesn't mean that they're necessarily shallow (although they could very well be). Some people just have an unusually strong interest in a certain field, whether that interest is autmotive, culinary, sartorial, or what have you.
That being said, I never saw the point in spending anymore than absolutely necessary until about 6-8 months ago. My usual pricerange: Jeans: 75-130 Shoes: 60 Dress shoes/boots: 150+ Jacket: 120+ Pants other than jeans: sometimes I can find them on sale for 50 or so, but usually around 80-90 Dress shirts: 60-150

The only clothing I would spend $450 on is a suit. And I probably wouldnt spend more than $400 on that.
I wont pay more than about $30 for jeans. Hell, I wont pay much for anything clothing related, unless it is dress clothing, in which case paying more really does get you better made, fitting, and looking clothes. But for casual clothes? Fuck that.

I buy designer-label shirts and slacks at the local discount clothing store for 25 percent of what they originally cost, because they're last-year's style or last-year's color, or the season's over for that kind of clothing and it needs to be unloaded. |

I spend a decent amount of money on formal wear, and clothing I use to go out at night.
The rest of the stuff I usually pick up from Goodwill, so it balances out. I have no problem wearing used khakis and stuff to work, they don't look that bad, and they're completely replaceable.

I pay more than most guys for clothes, just because I like expensive clothes. Nothing 450 bucks though, usually more like 100 or so for jeans, 40-60 for collard shirts, 20 for tshirts, 90 or so for a set of skate shoes. Watches is one place I go way overboard though

I usually end up spending $72-85 on a pair of jeans. I wear Lucky the most, as it fits me the best and I like the way they look. Shirts I usually spend around $20 or so, as I mostly wear T shirts. Shoes usually around $100. Jackets was usually around $100, but I did buy a new leather one last year for $250. Hoodies mostly from $30-50. Sunglasses around $300, eyeglasses around $500.
