Wow, when I signed in I thought I did something bad and got banned before reading this thing.
Has anyone thought of starting a business type deal and having some of the profits donated to the TFP? I dunno.. I run this tax saving thing in Canada where I make a little money (don't ban me for posting a fundraising idea please). I figure if I sign up part the TFP crew - then help anyone who wants to save money on taxes, part of that money goes to me. I would be more than willing to donate all of this to keep the TFP alive. - Just a thought. (been working on this business for a bit, and it's already helping me pay for a lot) mods - send me an email if you'd like more info. (only affects Canadian members however, so everyone else think of something to help out too) FYI on average, I help people save up to 50% on their taxes (Canadians get screwed when it comes to that), and make about an extra couple hundred bucks a week. It's nothing spectacular, and I don't know what your costs for bandwidth are these days, but like people said - every little bit helps. To keep things going - I'm going to be sending you some funds via snail mail as well. Like or not like my message - let me know either way, and I'll either set things up, or never mention it again. P.S. Would you guys mind donations in Canadian Funds? (yeah, I know it's weird with the exchange, etc, but I'm only trying to help)

Do you think you can accept via a biil pay from a bank. Maybe you can set up account numbers so funds can come directly from any bill pay systems. I do know there are some new technologies coming very soon that will allow people to send $$ from phone number to phone number, but since it is not ready yet, I guess its meaningless. $$ will be coming....

To get around the paypal "non-adult" situation, why don't you start a related "clean" company, get contributions to that one, and just transfer the money to the TFP?
Or maybe that's the accountant in me thinking. |

Come on people... no one here would think twice about dropping $20-$25 for a couple of drinks, that new DVD you've been dying for, lunch or dinner out, or a Christmas gift for a dear friend.
The TFP is a community that is like family. If you can't donate even $5-$10 for the dear friend that is the TFP... I think you need to re-evaluate your priorities and what the TFP really means to you. *tossing in my 2 cents and another donation via Yahoo* |

Since Hal has the Stick Figure Peepshow running on the side, he could ask that TFP'ers donate by Paypal through there. Because to my knowledge, that forum does not have any of fore mentioned and has always been clean. But then he'd probably have a hard time relaying the info between what member @ which forum donated in order to give out Donor status. I'd make seperate links.

I gave $50 by paypal shortly after I joined. I could easily send $100 now. I just hate mailing cheques. Having to remember to pick up stamps and mail letters at the country store is a royal pain. Plus, I suppose you'd like a US money order. My little personal cheque in Canadian funds will likely be laughed at and hung up in bank hell for weeks.
But I guess I could do it. Sigh.. |

Good Job--the dough was sent. (several days ago) I choose to support!
I agree with others who say that most people would not hesitate to spend $25 (to$50) on music, alcohol, magazines or other items. If someone says they cannot contribute then, in MOST cases, it means that it is not important enough for them to do so. Everything has a cost. You choose. Dills Kaboom

Well that tears it. I have enjoyed this board for a couple of years and only donated once ($100 and well spent). I am going to do it again. This week I give up prostitutes, crank, crack, cold beer and smokes, if my wife will do the same I may have some money to send.

PP has no access to the parts of the site they would consider against thier TOS, that being the (vacationed) TB. I donated through PP a while back, and will only donate through PP. I trust PP, I don't trust sending checks through the mail anymore since I had one 'erased' and rewritten for 2 grand. (of course this was taken care of, but talk about a hassel). |

Why did paypal cancel service? I used it to donate once and it's very easy. I never use my credit card and don't want to start now and the paydirect servicde really sucks. I used it for an ebay auction where the seller didn't take paypal and it was not a streamlined project.

I tried to donate earlier this month, nothing but problems with Yahoo Direct. They didn't want to take my money. Any other way besides snail mail??
