No drinking, no smoking, no drugging, and not planning to.
I can find much more productive and fun ways to deal with stress. I do drink caffeine, but not for the caffeine, as it really doesn't have an effect on me. I typically drink Mountain Dew before going to bed at night. And if they made my sodas caffeine free, it wouldn't bother me at all. |

I don't like cocaine. I just like the way it smells. (Kidding. Haven't done that for longer than the statute of limitations. I'm like that for most drugs. The rest I take for medical reasons, FDA bedamned.)

Done my share I guess. Grew up and don't seem to have the opportunity to sample drugs much these days - other than booze which is just as much a drug as the coke, pot, speed, shrooms and others I used to use - big difference is booze is legal. Booze can harm you just as much (or worse) than the illegal drugs. It's a sham how our country views pot.

I came of age in the 1970's so-- what would you guess?
Haven't done any of the drugs that became popular since (such as X, crystal meth). Alcohol is a drug-- very dangerous in that it is legal and so may people blithely ingest it as if it were soda-pop. Caffeine is a drug. I do exactly one mug of mocha-java coffee per day, in the morning. I cannot stand self-righteousness. I've said before, I'll say it now. Everyone has a addiction/vice be it to the Internet or gaming or sex or pr0n or cars...it goes on. The question to ask about an addiction or drug use is: Does it interfere in a significant negative way with your life, or the life of those around you? |

I am talking about Marijuana not any other drugs. I don't see how people can say it's so bad if they have never tried it...I am not saying you should try it either though. Like Talon said, If you know people that smoke weed and you think they are stupid or whatever...Then there body's must react different to weed. I have said this already, But I know people who smoke Daily and they are fine. Am I addicted to Marijuana...No. Have I tryed harder drugs...Yes, But I have never done them again after the first time. I call Marijuana a Relaxent not a Drug...All it does is Relaxe you and Enhances your mind. Last edited by IC3; 08-23-2003 at 02:55 PM.. |

Well, I figure I might as well post what I have done, as everyone else seems to be doing. Again, I don't recommend drugs to anyone.
My list: LSD- Done twice, by far the "hardest" drug I have done. Both times were extremely introspective and beneficial. I'd like to spend the next 15 years getting to that "place" without the use of them, but that requires a LOT of mediation. Maybe when I'm a little older. Psilocybe Mushrooms- Done three times. Probably my favorite drug, but I'll probably never do it again. Just the same feeling about acid. I'd rather spend 15 years meditating to get to that point without the drugs than spending the $30 and doing it again. Ketamine or Special "K"- Done once. Never do it again. I don't like the lack of control associated with it. Datura or Jimsonweed- Done once. Never reached the threshold to reach psychedelic states, and don't want to. The stuff dried out all my mucous membranes, and it wasn't worth it. Salvia Divornium- Done 3 times. Very intesting drug, but not as introspective and revealing as some of the others I have done. Marajuana- Done countless times, socially only. I never done this stuff once a day, but I have smoked alot. Alcohol- Done countless times, socially only. This drug is by far the most dangerous of all the drugs I've done. No doubt in my mind about that. Just the way people act when drunk proves that. Caffiene- The only drug I am addicted to. I get headaches if I dont drink a soda during the day. As for prescription: Codiene, Vicodin, Oxycontin. Will never do any of these without a prescription. Ever. My rules about drugs are as follows: I don't do anything highly addicted (heroin, coke, meth, etc), and the ones that I could get addicted to (alcohol), I don't do enough to get to that point of dependency. Unlike some other users, I have never become "stupid" or "dimwitted" from using drugs (unless on them at the time: alcohol). I do everything in moderation. I still have big ambitions, and still do VERY well in college. I work for a living, and not once have drugs have interfered with me being on time and doing a good job. My social life is great, I have friends from both sides of the table: straight edge and users. I am probably an exception. I don't deny it. Am I lucky? No. I went into the mindset of doing them correctly, and I have. Every drug on the list has benefitted me in some way at some time. I dont regret doing them. I don't recommend them to anyone either.

Of course, you could also be addicted to the caffiene, and so you get a headache because its your withdrawel symptom.

I did my share, once I entered the military I obviously stopped. When I got out I did X a couple times and havent done anything since. Life is intense enough to contend with. I dont regret any time Ive ever used, but if I ever have children I will educate them not to use.

i was smoking almost daily for most of the summer, but had to quit about two weeks ago to get ready for football. ended with an enormous pot/shrooms/everclear/sea kayak binge with some buddies. quitting was hard, but the drugs will always be there, football won't.
i'm not addicted, it hasn't been a gateway, and i quit when i want. where's the beef? "my choice is what i choose to do, and if i'm causing no harm why should it bother you?" - Ben Harper, "Burn One Down"

I've only been smoking weed some times. Well.. quite a lot of times. I'm done with it. It's expensive, tastes like s**t and the feeling itself isn't that good.
As for the harder drugs: (cocaine, amphetamines, heroin, E) I've seen what they do to people. I've seen how much they fuck up people's heads and I've seen it enough to never touch that stuff. I used to drink heavily. Every day. But I quit it and was sober for three months straight and now I drink a glass of wine, a beer or a single whiskey, but I leave it at that.

I know it's none of my bussiness, but you need to get help, dude. I was a child of the 60's. It was a drug free for all for several years with the drugs that were most abused were Herion, Acid (windowpane) and Weed. I lost a few friends to overdosing on the first two. You have done Meth so long now you are in a different reality then most people....the problem is it isn't really you. I recently watched a very good friend of mine go from making 70 grand a year lose his wife, his job, his house and all access to his kids. He then started stealing things from his family and friends to support his crack habit. He was very convincing when he was high, talked me into loaning him some money after he said he was off the stuff. I even bought him some groceries and let him work with me a few days until i realized he was still using and tried to steal from me and use me. He had one of the best lives a person could want and lost it all in a year! Like I said before, you don't know me and don't owe me a damn thing, man. You DO owe it to the people that love you to get off this shit. Your family already suspect you're using...you are hurting them more than you know. Think about it...if it was your brother or sister doing the shit and you were straight what would you do and how would you feel? Sorry about the rant, just sick and tired off seeing this kind of thing happen to people I know, seen it too many damn times and it NEVER makes you a better person after it takes hold of your life.

herb, shrooms, oxycontin(swallowed not snorted!), alchohol, caffeine, Percacet(?)
I will never smoke a Cig. I will never inject. I will never put something up my nose. I might try acid, opium, Salvia later in life. I don't do drugs to feel better about myself, it just feels really cool to go out on a boat and laugh my ass off with good company and take a relaxing swim sometimes. (just a side note, I only did those aforementioned painkillers once each and I doubt I will do them a lot in the future because they made my nose itch so bad that I wanted to scratch it off at times!)

I've done just about everything.
smoked so much pot its crazy tried speed 3 times ive tried lsd once tried shrooms once done coke about 20-30 times popped many prescription pills took ecstacy twice took pcp twice - one time it was sold to me as XTC and another time on laced pot Ive never tried heroin but i've done oxycontin which is pretty close. I would not recommend to be in my shoes and i've destroyed my body, made myself stupid, lost all my true friends, and got in trouble with the law. drugs are really bad and ruined my life. |

today it's just beer/wine, cigs & coffee.
in the past plenty of weed, downers, uppers, some coke, opium once, and sadly a 3 mos flirt with meth once. ellipsys, that is a horrible drug. i hope you find a way out of that spiralling downward sinkhole very soon. good luck.

I am a pot smoker. Most disc golfers you meet are pot smokers. I am not lazy, I do not sit around all day doing nothing but play videogames, watch TV or other.....I have a full-time career, make good money, pay my bills on time, workout everyday, and am an individual most people wouldn't think smoked pot. I do not recommend it to other people because it is better to go on in life without it....I will eventually quit, but right now, I like to get away from the stress, sit down and relax with a joint or bowl. Typically smoke about 3-4 times a week. I have tried coke once, done Exctasy about a dozen times, done shrooms a few times, but that is about it. I have gone through the experimental phase and don't plan on trying anything else. I am not a drinker either. I don't like the feeling of being drunk or the feeling the morning after. Weed mellows me out for a few hours, then I am back to the normal routine.
