What is it with some people. They just don't get it, do they!! My heart goes out to all those families whose relations have been kidnapped in Iraq. My God, they are brutal over there. Those beheadings have left a stain on my soul. I'm sorry to be taking such a slant in this thread but its just hit me what a bloody violent world we live in. Somehow the concept of 'never' seems a bit outrageous. I have no clue what I'll do in the future because, based on my original plan, I should be dead now. I can detail what I'm afraid of, what disgusts me, what my self-made limitations won't allow me to conceive of, but I'm not smart enough to understand 'never'.

Earlier I said that reality has a way of making us fools, and along those lines I have been thinking, and in certain circumstances I really could see myself doing almost anything- For instance, I would like to think that I would never rape an innocent person, but if someone raped a loved one of mine, and I found them, sure, I would at least considder it as a prelude to their painful death- There is also the possibility of insanity, which might make one do anything.........

This thread brought back some ideas that Robert Anton Wilson's The Illuminatus Trilogy! presented with Robert Putney Drake's character. Determine the things that you believe that you cannot do, and then do them.

A few things the character did:
-Escape from a straight jacket (I can't do that, only Houdini can!)
-Walked with broken glass in shoes (I can't do that, it'll hurt!)

Now, I might not be willing to go an extreme like putting broken glass in my shoes, but I will have to think about some more *typical* things and try to do what I say I cannot.

I have done many things I never thought I would do, but I changed or the situation changed and I found that something I thought I was totally incapable of doing I no longer had a problem with, or I was forced into a situation I swore I would never be in.
There are still plenty of things I can not see myself doing, but hey who knows.

Life throws surprises constantly and certain circumstances require drastic decisions! I bet the man who go trapped hiking and had to cut off his own arm didn't think he would EVER cut off a limb of his own. (Gay Sex? Please.
