Suburban Life Makes Me Wanna...

ArizonaMoms!

Yea! Suburbia!
Anyone who knows me knows that to me the suburbs = death.

We found this site after it was discussed on the morning news here this morning. While reading it, shesus and I had to keep telling ourselves, "These people aren't real. This is satire. It has to be. It just has to be."

Sadly, it's serious. These people really do exist, and we live among them.

Here's a snippet found while browsing the chat topics:
Quote:
Well the latest in Time Magazine is that Rowlings, the one who wrote the Harry Potter books is making the "good" wizard dumbbledorf to come out of the closet and announce that he is a "Homosexual".. she new what she was doing, she has drawn in the young minds of the readers so much and now alot of them will feel that it's ok to be a homosexual, cause the "good, wise wizard is" .. and it goes into detail, that as a young boy he had a relationship with Voldemore but broke it off cause he stands for "evil"... So what message does this send the kids?? and the article went on to say that Dumbledorf is fond of Harry Potter. Does that have "pedifiler" written all over it??? ok I will get grief from this, but again, i don't care, if anything it will give people something to think about..
Be careful. These people are procreating at alarming rates.

Grab a something strong to drink, something strong to smoke, spare an hour or two, and have fun browsing.

Are you really surprised? It's no news that homosexuality is not as widely accepted as people would like to believe.

I'm not talking about just the homosexuality. It's the whole attitude of the website. I guess that was a bad quote to put in there. I should have picked the one where the mother went into a near-panic because her 3 year old asked her why a man was smoking and she didn't know how to handle the question. That would have been a good quote.

Change that to UtahMoms! and it is a reflection of what I deal with daily.

I need to move somewhere with fewer stupid people.

Okay, suburbia isn't for me that's for sure. I'm not commenting on moms and raising children because what do I know about it? I'm child free!!!!

One time I was picking up a cable modem. It was supposed to be simple, just go in fill out the paperwork, take the hardware home. Simple right?

No, I get shuttled left and right of the store over and over again. Talk to that guy over there, that guy sends me back to the other guy, over and over. Finally I said in a loud voice, "Why don't you guys get your shit together so that I can be a good customer, make my purchase and get out of here."

The WHOLE store came to a grinding halt. The manager came up to me and said there was no reason to treat his staff poorly. I told him the same thing, "Get your shit together so that I can make my purchase and be on my way. Either you want my sale, or you don't."

I didn't leave with the item at all and went directly through the cable company.

I think the point was that there are a lot of really stupid people on this planet and it seems that most of them now have internet access.

I do not play professional tennis. Nor do I play it recreationally. Know why? Because I'm no fucking good at it. I wish more people would take this same attitude with regard to expressing themselves in writing.

The first two don't seem like a good idea when combined with the last.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it ain't just the 'burbs.

If you're lucky, your circle of friends will keep you sheltered. If not, watch out. Ignorance, judgments and hypocrisy are everywhere these days.

From my little browsing, it looks like a mixed bag. Note, for instance, this post:

Now, I must say I like the idea of my husband spending time with my daughter's dates before they go out. Just to let him know she comes from a family who loves her enormously and will be watching.... but what strikes me most about the book is how the daughter is helpless, thoughtless and weak and must be protected. And if the father doesn't talk to the boy, who knows what she would let happen?

The father actually puts the date in charge of guarding his daughter's purity. I think I'd like my daughter to be in charge of her own purity. I'd like her to know she calls the shots and that if she's not saying "no" it won't get said.

Anyway, the book just rubbed me wrong. Although I think father's should address boundarys and remind boys that they are driving around and escorting the most precious thing in our life but, I'd like the author to put the boy in charge of HIS OWN purity, and make sure the daughter knows she is empowered to take care of herself... Did anyone else have this reaction to the book???

As for women who work at Hooters or any other establishment, that has nothing to do with their character.

I know plenty of "Christians" who steal, lie, cheat, abuse their spouses and/or children and a number of other things that are far from praise worthy.

Based on the days and weeks many of those forums are since the last post, and the low number of posts, its kinda weak to bitch about it.

For instance the last reply in drugs, sex, and alcohol, which should be a hotbed on intolerance was ....6 days 6 hours ago.

So while complaining about the suburbs is the norm for those without children, thats why these suburbs were created in the first place, to raise families. The big cities are full of morons as well, so in this case I get space and morons, you get bars and morons.

you are so right... the other night after watching quadro perform at a bar in the Village, we went for Korean BBQ next door. There were about 8 girls behind us and 4 guys in front of us, all doing sake bombs. Watch the video, they were 50 times more obnoxious than that.

I didn't find them attractive at all either, especially the one that had a mouth worse than a sailor or a Brooklyn goomba.

Oh no, the six-year-old learned the word fuck! What the fuck does that mean? What will she do?! Save us automated post merger algorithm! I definitely must show this to my "step" mom out in Arizona, because she isn't the typical suburban mom, and would get a kick at disagreeing with every post there.
