NFL Football in High Definition!!!!
I got my 51" Sony (KP51ws510) about 3 months ago. I did a lot of calibration work on it to get the picture as perfect as was humanly possible. And I though that picture was amazing.
But then, I got off my lazy ass and got in touch with my cable company about HD. It was the best thing I have done in a long time. I dont know why I kept putting it off, but I finally got the box hooked up about 2 weeks ago. GOD DAMN football looks so amazing. I will probably never go to a bar again to watch football. And Monday Night games on ABC seem to look even better than the games of FOX for some reason. REgardless, they are both shocking. There are details that I never thought you would be able to see without actually being there. Anyway, just thought I would share. ![]() |

HELL YES! Watching the NFL on a bigscreen high def TV is simply amazing. Crystal clear man, absolutely beautiful.
On a side note: I have a projection TV and the "non-high def" channels look like absolute shit. I bought the S cable and all that junk, but the picture quality is just ridiculously bad, anyone know why? |

Hi-def football is fabulous. The widescreen add a lot also; now you can see the corners and the backs and the adjustments they are making prior to the snap.
I've heard the widescreen does wonders for soccer, and that hi-def totally transforms hockey. There is only so much you can do with an SD picture. If you blow up a postage stamp to 51" it's ot going to look great. Are you sitting back far enough? For a 50" set you should sit about 9-10' away, at least.

That's just too damn close for me - and it all comes down to your personal preferance anyway. But I guess with the HD being so sharp, you can sit that close an not lose image quality - simulating a true movie theater feel. |
