What screen saver do you use?

I'm currently running the Blue Screen of Death Screensaver:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/fr...eensaver.shtml

What Screensaver are you running, and where did you get it?

Post screenshots if possible.

I'm running Static TV screensaver, but I think I'll put the bluescreen on my parents' computer and watch them cry. :P

Normally I have no screensaver and just have the monitor power down after 20 minutes. However, at the moment I have a bit of a Matrix theme going (4 virtual desktops, a different character wallpaper on each) so I'm using the high resolution Matrix screensaver that came with KDE 3.1.1a - nice and crisp on my 1600x1200 resolution

After I see The Matrix: Reloaded a few times and decide to get rid of my Matrix theme I'll probably switch to the OpenGL screensavers that also came with KDE 3.1.1a - I just discovered them and they're pretty cool.

If I can figure out how to take a screenshot of the screensavers I'll post one.

I bet you can just open a terminal and type in "sleep 10;import -window root test.png", then lock the screen and wait 10-15 seconds.

"import" comes with ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org/). The coolest image utilities ever made.. well, when combined with NetPBM (http://netpbm.sf.net/) and The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/).

I forgot to mention, I usually just use one of xlockmore (http://www.tux.org/~bagleyd/xlockmore.html), xscreensaver (http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/), or KDE's screensavers (http://www.kde.org/). In that order. I love xlock -mode grav or -mode random.

Currently I'm running Marquee with the text "Don't be a fucking wuss."

I'm going to check out that StatcTV saver and I think the laundromat screensaver idea is genius. Someone should really make that.

I haven't found a suitable screensaver to fit my tastes. There have been a few that I was moderately interested in, but they were shareware and not really worth it to buy and not worth it use with the "buy me" banner that flys around..

Maya Paint Effects from Alias Wavefront,
with the following settings:

preset 1 = jellyPlant2.mel
force 1 = Random Selection
preset 2 = None
force 2 = None
background = Dark
depth = On
speed = about 1/3 from the left
randomize preset = all the way left
clear time = about 1/20 from the left

Sometimes it's so pretty I hate to touch
the keyboard and get back to work.

At least that's the excuse I use.

If you like reading quotes, you might want to check out the <a href="http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Lagoon/2324/download.html">Quote32</a> screen saver. It is what I currently use. I enjoy sitting and reading the quotes. Then only thing that sucks about it is the guy who made the thing allowed anyone to submit quotes. This has lead to a lot of stupid computer sayings and puns that I would not really consider quotes. You can edit the list of quotes it displays, but since there are like 15,000 I have never got around to doing it.

Running no screen saver here. No need. As far as background graphics, many ways to get high resolution stuff. BoCo offers some snazzy pics, or you could check out some links for Hi-res graphics.

You could sweat it and look for the stuff, or, just check, <a href= "http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?s=&threadid=709">BoCo</a> daily. He puts many hours of scouring links to share quality product.

I had a 3D Matrix one, but with a slow computer, it's no fun watching the text go down the screen slower than I thought possible. I've recently been using this goldfish screensaver. http://www.lifeglobe.com/product/Goldfish/index.php

Screen savers are the work of the devi.. I have more issue on PCs at work because of "installed" screen savers then anything else. OK not really, but they seem to cause more problems then they are worth. Even some of the MS ones cause issues.. I just have the screen go blank, then to sleep after 30 minutes
