Currently have a Viewsonic PS 790 (discontinued CRT) and I'm very happy with it. However, want a Dell 2001FP (LCD) but I'm not willing to shell out $800 (on a sweet deal) for it. The PS 790 should do the job until LCD's start to dramatically drop in price. As to the poll: No comparison, LCD's are radical dude.

I got a Liquidvideo 17" lcd for christmas..I lucked out and have no dead pixels. It seems to be easier on my eyes than the crt for whatever reason, after tweaking it a little bit. Another huge plus for me is that there is virtually no glare or reflections, which was a major problem with my crt. There is also the issue of real estate. When you're living in a dorm room, every little bit of space helps.
