Very close trim all around, shaven ass and geesh area (not much to shave, just makin it nice like we like it :D ).

Since nobody's mentioned it yet -- maybe because it's fairly obvious -- I'll just make an addition.

I was convinced to give shearing a go by a good friend who works with me. I did it (and damn if it wasn't itchy the first time), and my girl just fell in love with my unit all over again.
But the best part is, the sensitivity factor -- at least for me -- was increased tenfold, especially on the ballsack. Absolutely incredible.
Though the process is lengthy, the added feeling is more than worth it.

I've done it more than a couple times. I just remember it being scratchy and itchy, but it was well recieved. Plus since I strive for feminity, I shave my legs every so often. Which is also well recieved for some reason.

Yup, I'm a firm believer in shaving down there. My wife prefers it that way too. Definitely worth the effort. I usually only shave the shaft and balls, then trim the rest.

Truth be told, and I do deal with it, it's waaaaaay not cool to get the little hairs in your mouth. It's like corn-silk; sticks in your teeth something awful, and no real redeeming qualities. The hairs don't really matter for the action, but in the aftermath you realize just how much better it could be made with a little effort. Like a lot of guys were saying, it's the "making an effort" thing.

it lubricates the hair follicles so that when your pubes start growing back, their sharp edges (thanks to the razor) wont irritate the walls of your follicles. No itching, no red bumps.

The reason not to use water-based lubes like K-Y is 'cause they wont do shit for you 4 hours later while your hair is still growing within your skin. Oil-based lubes will stay with you for hours and they leave pleasantly soft skin as long as you don't have really unlucky acne down there.

I shave my balls/shaft in the shower, no shaving cream, with a Mach III razor. Works great, and I have no itch at all. Only problem is that you have to do it about every other day or so.

My biggest problem is that I'm pretty hairy overall, so I can't really go full bald down there without also shaving the stomach, thighs, ass, etc. Too much work. I trim pubes to the same length as the hair on my belly and stuff, and that looks pretty good.

I prefer hairless, because I find its alot cleaner, both for me and my partner. I'm okay with my boyfriend keeping it trimmed too. If it was out of control with hair, i think it would be a different story. :o

I found using a hair removing cream the quickest and easiest way to control, especialy around my ass. Being hairless around the back makes your farts really 'LOUD'

Somewhat of a side question... i trim down there but have wanted to shave to see if it is liked by the females and myself. What is the best way to shave without risking sliceing something? I have a beard and sideburns trimmer but im always afraid to get it completely on my junk. Any easier way?

But on the up side, the sex was awsome. It felt so good, and my chick liked the slick look too. Didn't have it all trimmed most just shaved shaft and around it a bit.


But now it really hurts, the stubble grows back by the evening, its itchy.

It will be less itchy and painfull the more you do it.... mine used to be terrible when i started trimming.

Yeah everyday would be too much and would make a rash,usually, and if you do it every other day it will have a chance to grow a bit and not irritate the skin as much and ALWAYS use a sharp razor. one thats been used only a couple times can still suck.

OR just stop shaving a use a depilatory (sp?) like nair, or that new Veet stuff that I haven't tried yet.

Lotion helps a bit, but not much... One of my friends suggested tight underware for a week to prevent the from the balls rubbing against the legs...

I'm a guy and I've been doing this for years; shaft and balls. It started as a sexy request from a partner way back when and I have found in the interim that women are generally very pleased with this sort of thing. They seem far more likely to spend time down there and I'm pretty sure you'll like that. You'll catch some crap from guys once in a while... locker room, jacuzzi, whatever... but the only opinion about it that matters to me is the woman I'm sleeping with and she's the one who sees it 99% of the time, so what do I care? Everyone else is entitled to their opinion and I am entitled to ignore it.

I'd never really considered the aesthetic angle re: making it look bigger. I guess I'd heard it in passing before, but it never affected why I did or did not shave. Oh, and her tongue on your smooth skin on your balls.... yow. Seriously, dude... try it.

As for the itching... yeah. We've all been there. I have to agree with everyone else that doing it regularly makes the discomfort almost completely disappear. In fact, you'll be moved to keep things clean just cuz it itches less. ;)

It's part of my showering routine and I average every other day. Sometimes I'll go a week w/o doing it, sometimes every day for a stretch... just depends. If I know I'm going to be seeing the gf... definitely... otherwise it's just whether or not I feel like it.

What you do is trim it all first. Trim pubes with electric, leave balls alone. Then come back witha shard razor, and save the pubes and shaft. When you're shaving balls remember to shave with the grain, not against it!

There is this certain liquid called "Tend Skin Lotion". What it does it is removes ingrown hairs after about 4 or 5 uses, it really does work because I use it on my neck and face. I am not sure if it will work for this, but I dont see any reason why it shouldn't. The only thing is, it smells like vinagear, and burns like hell for the first 30 seconds. I know thats not the greatest thing to feel down there, but hey, whatever works. Here is a link of the only place I know where to get it. I shave occassionally. Any pain of shaving is offset by greatly reduced pain during jelq sessions.

I've been chaste since trying this out, and am concerned about the stubble. I can't see stubble on one of the rubby bits being a good thing during sex.

Anyone tried NADs? I haven't worked up the nerve to spend $30 bucks to try it. I did the Nair for men and the EpilStop options and the chemical burns were miserable. I healed up, but if your trying the chemicals use it on a SMALL area first. As for me I use the razor around the sack trim above and pluck the rest with tweezers. Takes time but well worth the effort. The wife is tolerant the lover is on fire for it!!!

I use a Mach 3 to shave a just a pair of beard trimming shears to trim back the pubes.

I shave the sack once a week or so. I found that shaving the shaft is a bit trickier and I'm afraid to knick too much around the shaft.

I have to say that shaving the sack gets to be second nature after the first couple of times.

Mach 3 Turbo blades are superior to Mach 3 blades.
Never go against the grain down there.
Avoid tight clothing that lacks air circulation.

So far, all I've seen mentioned are benefits for women, but honestly, I think there's a benefit for men besides making it look bigger. I usually won't even go down on a guy if he's "natural." If he trims, I'll go down on him... However, if he's completely shaved, that's the most fun because I have no problem giving his balls some tongue action, too. Apparently, it feels damn good. You're right. I use the Turbo. Such a gimmick. Add a little extra strip of moisturizure and suddenly you're shaving turbo style and you pay twice as much for the blades. Oh well. I'm hooked.

I shave pretty regular. Balls and some hair on the shaft all get completely bald. The rest gets very trimmed, almost down to nothing. I shaved again in the shower a few days ago, but it seems now that I have what appears to be little zits from my foliculs. I can pop them and a lil white goop comes out. I believe its just ingrown hairs.

But my problem is is that this has never happened. I dont think Ive been doing anything out of the ordinary. Is there any way to prevent this from happening again?

Ok, my mum is a beautician, and I have discussed this with her re my legs before, and a few chicks have confirmed the same..

Answer is this:

When you shave, the first few times it might be ok, but as you shave more, the hair actually becomes coarser (thicker). If you then shave close, the hair will become ingrown and can get infected (white goo) - like a zit.

Where ingrown hairs occur, you need to exfoliate the skin (read: scrape a few layers of skin off) so that the hair can grow out of the skin. This can be done with a lufra or back scrubber or something and you can actually get shower gel with little grainy bits which help too.

Moisturizing on top of all this also helps.

The other alternative is to wax it!!!

i shave my shaft,balls, inbetween my legs, and in my crack. it's a whole lot cleaner looking and since i've done it years ago, girls like it better. My gf loves it.

I've got quite a lot of body hair and logic tells me that if I shave one place, more places have got to go....I'm not about to put that type of dedication or $$ (professional) to make a change. However I have thought of doing the trimming, but I've yet to get a beard and mustache trimmer, and I'm not about to use the backside of my electric razor anywhere close to myself.....

I've been doing it for so long I just use soap or conditioner because shaving cream is more expensive. Half the time I'm staring off in some other direction or thinking about something completely unrelated. I could probably do it with my eyes closed, too. It takes me all of 1-2 minutes in the shower 1 or 2 times a week. I cut myself once attempting to use a beard trimmer on a low setting. The clippery things pinched my, er, loose skin. However, I have never cut myself with a razor.

gigwatz, get a beard trimmer, use a longer hair setting and try trimming a little bit. see what happens... and if she notices and maybe likes it, try going a little shorter the next time around. you don't have to shave everything, either. to keep things "natural" looking some guys leave the happy trail and trim only what can't be seen when the pants are on.

You don't want to exfoliate too hard, either. Especially not after a recent shave because you might end up pushing the hairs further into the skin which would only worsen the situation.

I don't know if I believe that the hair becomes coarser due to shaving. I've been shaving for like I dunno 7+ years (legs and bits), my hair is almost as thin and soft as it was when I started. However, I started shaving prepubescence. I think that the my hair is slightly coarser due to maturing more. It would make more sense if hair becomes coarser with age, but I have nothing to back this up.

Yeah, i use an electric razor mostly, and a Mach 3 for the ares around my schlong.

I've never shaved my shit, but I do try to keep it trimmed... the problem with me is, I'm a decently hairy guy, I have it all over the place, and if I'm going to be shaved down there, I want to be shaved all over, it doesn't look natural to be hairy all around your nuts, but clean shaven there... my gf at the moment doesn't mind my pubic hair (she doesn't complain at times tho) and loves every other hair on my body, she says it makes me look sexy (Er, ok SURE ;) so I don't shave my face anymore, but that's just me :)

But to answer your question... no. It's a little itchy at first and the only "pain" I can think of is if you slip while shaving, but that's as true of my face as it is my balls, so it's not like the end of the world. The itching doesn't really start until a day or two after the shave and, like your face, the more often you do it the more the discomfort goes down. If you skip it for a while and go back to it, it'll be itchy. Just keep at it for a week or two and you'll hardly even notice it.

Is it more or less sexy if a guy has removed the hair from his genitals?

I like giving oral, but hate getting hair in my mouth. I've seen pictures of women who were shaved, but never had a gf who shaved. Do it once, it'll drive you crazy. Keep it shaved...daily or every other day at most and you'll barely notice after a couple weeks. Nothing to be amazed at. If I let it grow back and go a few weeks w/o shaving it, then do it... itches like hell for a day or so. Keep it shaved and I don't even notice...
